Well said...I don't care if the phone I chose sells 10 units or 10 million. I choose what I like. Plus lets be honest, just because a phone out sells another doesn't make it any better. Just take a look at the iPhone............
Actually, I'll have to take a slight exception to this.
The number of units sold is proportional (somewhat) to the level of dev support for a device. Example: head to the LG Revolution forums - dead. DX forums - still pretty vibrant with Liberty, Vortex, MIUI, CM4DX, etc etc...
Granted, this only matters to people who root and install ROMs/kernals, but I think its a valid point. I know other factors, mainly bootloader status, also play a role in dev support. But so do devices sold.
If I made a ROM, I'd want to do it for the most popular phones b/c those give me the best chance of donations b/c more people will have access to my stuff.
