Hopefully it will be. On this note how soon does everyone think we will have an SBF for the Nexus? I assume we would still need to SBF if we brick the phone. Also I see more support for these types of things for Windows users, are there Mac equivalents?

SBF? Brick?

Isn't the only way to actually brick an Android device to install an incorrect radio?

You should just be able to boot into recovery and flash another ROM or a backup.

Hoping for a leak or some news info to push it along.

Not sure if this has been posted before, but unlocking the bootloader on the SGN should be this easy: Unlock Nexus S Bootloader [How to Guide] | Redmond Pie

I'm trying to look through old posts to gather or provide some info to questions being asked. Figure I can help things along.

i'm not overly familiar with ADB, so it's gonna take me some time to root and unlock. but, don't we have to wait for a custom recovery before we can flash roms, anyway??

I believe local data is stored on the SD card, so if you can't port it over to your GNex then it will be lost. Also, I think it rewrites it's own anyways. But don't quote me on that.

It's up to the dev to indicate where data is stored. By default it is stored to the internal flash(on the OGD it's 512 according to wikipedia). I'll admit that I was secretly hoping that it would be as easy as the iphone is. A coworker upgraded his 3g to the 4s, when I asked him about that he said all his data (old game scores, shopping lists, etc) were migrated. Some of the data was cloud based, but a lot wasn't (local SQLite dbs, files etc).

Photos, music etc are all on my sd card, and I really don't have any data on the internal flash worth migrating, but I was wondering how google handles this.

Tx dood!

I'm not either but if ICS is as good as it looks I don't think I'll even need to be familiar with it for quite some time.
And if it turns out I have to be well then one of you fellow NJ people might just find me on your doorstep with my phone in hand and real ice cream in the other. ;)

Don't women typically like buying more purses?

Most - but I find it a hassle and when I find one that works I generally have it for a while. (Shoes is a WHOLE different story though)

I wonder if they will offer extended battery for G Nexus. I wouldn't mind making it 1~2mm thicker if it's adding extra +1000mAh.

Me too me too!!!

It'll take a while for any good AOSP ROMs based on ICS to be created as well. Does anyone know how long CM usually takes to get one out after a big update like this?

Samsung Galaxy Nexus hands-on - YouTube

Finally! This guy has phone ADHD like I do...I like to swipe through my homescreens for no reason just to see how smooth it is.

I was watching some of the RAZR videos and I thought THAT was smooth...but WOW look at this thing fly. I'm so glad I don't have to go through rooting/overclocking/memory management/cm7/SBF/circumventing the bootloader anymore.

Goodbye moto. Hello smooth-hardware-accelerated-goodness!

Depends on if you mind running dailies and RCs or if you have to wait until final version is released. If you run dailies you can have a version of CM running on your phone about a week after code is made public.

Where in NJ are you located? Seems like a lot of SGN'ers are in NJ. :D

I think the virtual buttons are very cool. That being said as of right now I would have preferred capacitive ones. There seems to be enough room and then the screen would always be full.

My opinion may change after i get to use it. BRING ON THE FLAMING! :)

Anyone have the link to verizon wireless live chat? I want to hound some CSRs for info.

I'm in North Jersey. Bergen/Passaic county.

I'm at the northern end of Hudson county -- most of my friends are in Bergen county (Lodi, Rochelle Park, etc).

LOL. They won't know what you are talking about. They will either tell you that it has been cancelled or that it hasn't been announced and try to sell you a Razr or they will know nothing about the Nexus and try to sell you a Razr.:eek::eek::eek::eek:
