Personally, I think this is an absolutely fantastic time to be upgrading. We have not one, but THREE high end phones dropping at the same time. What more could you ask for. Want a nice body? RAZR. Want crystal clear screen and nice audio? Rezound. Want fast updates and long support? Galaxy Nexus.

All should have good audio and all will probably sound the same if not better than beats. Again. Beats is all marketing hype. It's nothing special and if anything you're paying premium for average sound quality.

Well, the specs on the Rezound are not that bad from what I have heard, and the headphones are not horrific, and if you like the type of music that Beats is marketed to, its not a bad deal IMO.

Well it is looking like a simultaneous release in the US and Europe, looks pretty well coordinated to me. I am not sure Verizon had much say in the 17th. (Unless Verizon forced Sammy/Google to push back international release as well... not sure about how feasible that is)

Three weeks and this critter is finally in our grubby mitts. Sooner would be better, but having a date alleviates a whole helluva lot of not knowing. I'm OK with it. :)

little chubby. like it's carrying twins. but it ain't a bad option if your current phone dies the day before it's released and you have something personal against motorola products.

could have been a play on words at the Note presentation. When he commented on how thin GN was, he made sure to say " inthe HSPA+ version".

So perhaps the HSPA+ version release date does not refer to the Verizon version eh?

I lean more towards Verizons initial release date was supposed to be the global first, like the 3rd or 10th. Then with the announcements/problems or whatever else has come up, Google/Sam would not allow them to push it back further than the global launch date and thats the real reason all of these big releases are winding up so close to one another

Now I'm thinking that I can go to the store in Murfreesboro enroute to my destination... but it's a MUCH bigger town, ergo a MUCH longer line!

I guess I'm going to HAVE to pre-order and hope & pray I get Gnex via FedEx on the 16th. Danged if I want all you guys playing with your shiny new Gnexes and I'm still waiting for mine that afternoon because I have to be somewhere early! GRRRR

While running errands with the wife, I dropped her off and Bed Bath and Bullshit and hopped over to the VZW corporate store in the same plaza to do a bit of phone fiddling. The first drone who swooped in was the guy we bought my sons Inc2 from, so I told him not to waste his time with me as I wasnt buying, I was just burning some time in the store.

No more than two minutes later, one of the two drones who were tag teaming a guy in front of the Droid Bionic display left his wingman and made a bee line for me. As I was opping from phone to phone sizing them up. He offered to help since, in his words, I was all over the place in the store.

I thought you had 4G service out here since early September?

It is in the area, but there's a coverage problem between these two intersections out here. Interested in 4G? Can I show you the Bionic?

No, its already been replaced by the Razr.

Oh, we are taking preorders on the Razr.

No, not interested now. You have three new 4G phones launching in the next few weeks. If I was interested, I would wait for the coming price drop. I think I'm sold on the Galaxy nexus, tho.

I gave a knowing nod to the original sales guy on my way out the door. I shouldn't let the sales drones ruin my free time.

Well I hope it doesn't get pushed back any further, the following Thursday is Thanksgiving, so doubt they release a phone that day... Next date is Dec 1st... Unless they release it Black Friday...
 
is it just me, or can i hear CK chuckling to himself....? j/k! i know CK is rooting for us to get this, and hopes the GNex does very well - just couldn't pass up a good-natured jab...

and if we don't hear from H.Lo in the next hour, then he's truly got nerves of steel!!

it's becoming more and more difficult to stand pat, and wait for the GNex to come out before making a purchase. but, i keep repeating to myself that a Nexus device on VZW is worth waiting for, no matter what. i just hope i believe myself...
 
You can do it, Kate! You have a great support group here... we're all (well, most of us) going to patiently wait 3 weeks. 2 weeks if they have pre-orders!

FWIW, Panda tweeted that he's hearing the same 17th rumors...that's looking pretty likely. The delay was based on "the carrier's request to 'space' out their launches."

Guess VZW doesn't want to release 3 superphones in one day after all.

i think i can make it. i need a new phone pretty badly, but i have enough questions about the RAZR, and enough hope for the GNex, that i think i can hold out.

I thanked you because I like to stroke the Verizon reps. I know they are just earning a living and I am not hard on them but I do toy with em.
I think they play more stupid then they are some times. And I would like to be a fly on the wall in the break room on how they commented on you after you left.:eek:
