I'm asking is there a GSM version of the NEW galaxy nexus like the verizon version coming out ?

Everyone knows verizon is getting the nexus in america but from what that article is saying is There will be a European GSM version of the New galaxy nexus and may not go to America

So maybe that ebay auction is correct.

I think it's pretty much confirmed at this point non-verizon HSPA+ version is coming to US as well. And to me that auction looks like someone making easy 30k$.

Model number is Nexus S. So he has his signal crossed

I know the model number is for the Nexus S, but why does he have such a high seller rating and everyone thanking him??? I am not a frequent ebay user but that makes me curious if he is legit. If so how is he promising delivery between 11/3 and 11/9?

Just shaking my head!

Edit: Misread that original question. Guessing they will start using higher res pics in contacts also?

Yeah, I had read that G+ will allow high res contact images, and you can store them locally on the phone in any event, but it's ridiculous that Google has a contact sync service that can't store photos larger than 96x96. It irritates me even now, and the only place you see photos is when someone calls.

Have any of you pre-ordered before? I am trying to decide between pre-ordering (if it is available) and getting in line at the store... I am wondering how long it usually takes to ship pre-orders. I am so ready to be rid of my Droid X and so anxious to get the galaxy nexus.

I pre-ordered my Incredible the first day they opened up pre-ordering. The official release date was a Thursday and they apparently started fulfilling pre-orders early because mine showed up on my doorstep Tuesday. So I did get it a couple days early.

I wonder if this is something that we will see change at some point. I think I remember reading something about a new version of gmail coming out, and the article mentioned ICS, but I've read so much about ICS lately, it's possible I'm mixing articles

Two days early sounds SO inviting! I'm just afraid that I'd end up getting it two days LATE  :(

But if I can get a virgin, untouched Nexus - as it was from the factory - by pre-ordering; and if there is a chance that I can get it early? Count me in.

Good morning, everyone! It's a gorgeous day in Chicago! My wife has to work today so I'm sitting in the cafeteria of a psychiatric hospital/insane asylum and looking up the day's news, before I go out and about.

Siri iPhone 4 hack gets Apple server support - SlashGear

My wife will be happy about this. I knew Apple saying that Siri would only work on the 4S was a crock of BS. They're such liars. Like Verizon and all the rest.

Ok, I feel the negativity waves leaving my body through at least 6 orifices. I am now on a positive track!

I would like to pre-order as well, but does anyone know whether they will program the 4G sim card before shipping it out, or would you have to take it to the store to get it activated?

And does anyone know if Steven is okay? I keep thinking about his little tiny hut being buried in snow, with the little guy an angry green popsicle somewhere beneath, frozon on the pot with his lightsaber too far away to matter.

Over the years I've ordered most of my death star phones online and the phones were either activated when I took them of the box and popped in the sim, or I was able to activate them over the phone. I would think VZW would do the same thing- guess I'll know soon enough, since I'm switching to big red as soon as this phone is available for pre-order and/or purchase.

I'm definitely hoping to avoid going into the store. In my experience, cell phone carrier stores suck on an almost universal basis.

Yeah , I am wondering to.
Maybe he is getting ready to scare the trick or treaters.;)

Here's a mildly interesting article:

What I have been missing is that Ice Cream Sandwich (and stock Android in general) is to Google as iOS is to Apple. Google releases one “true Android” device running stock Android every year, just as Apple releases one iPhone running the newest version of iOS every year. Apple and Google are taking the same approach here: one phonehttp://www.technobuffalo.com/compan...looking-at-android-all-wrong-user-submitted/#, one operating system.
Well said. This is why I'll wait as long as it takes (to a reasonable degree) for the SGN, and why I don't understand the allure of the RAZR or Re-crappy.

To me, the lack of bloat and faster updates directly from Google more than overcome any allure that the RAZR or Rezound may have.

Agreed. And the article (from a non-android lover, to boot) points out that the only true Android device is the Nexus line, which I agree with. Once it's MotoCrapped and TouchPissed, it essentially ceases to be an Android device. It's kind of an extreme point of view, but one I agree with as well.

Wow, I'm feeling quite agreeable today! If anyone wants a favor, now's the time to ask it!

Custom UI's like TW always seemed kind of pointless to me. If anything, they should be offered as an option, and not forced on the customer by the manufacturer and/or carrier. When it comes to smart phones, few things piss me off as much as being denied choices regarding how MY phone is set up or what is installed on it. :)

My plans on the pre-order were to call as soon as it became available, if possible. I think this may be the route I take. Thanks!

18 inches of snow. Now that I'm done shoveling I have to get the subpump rocking in my basement for the melt-off this week. Bring on Monday cell phone news!

I have evolved in deciding to wait for you guys to receive and report on all the fun.
At the same time seeing what Costco has to offer in a deal. They may not get it as soon as others, we will see.

To say that a custom UI defeats the heart and soul of Android or ICS? What a bunch of baloney. Seriously? You can easily kill blur out of the majority of mainline Moto phones, same with TW. The UI is just that--an add on, not an OS.

This is article is a classic example of "I don't have anything new or useful to blog about".

What is even funnier? Now that ICS is incorporating the Blur/TW features, it's OK. But if Moto makes a scrollable, resizable widget, it's BLASPHEMY!!
