as for whether the GNex will be "better" than the Charge hardware-wise - probably, but no one can tell you for sure. besides, no one can tell you what your personal preferences are - you'll just have to try it out for yourself and see if it matches your needs. that's what i'm gonna do...

Thank you. I'm thinking one of three things. Her phone is only three months old, so if it is the battery it died early. Second, we live in upstate NY and where I LIVE we got 4G during the summer, but where SHE LIVES (a few minutes south of our job) maybe they just got it...I'll have to ask her if she noticed if her signal changes in her home. Lastly, she had like 15 updates that needed to go through so maybe she had a buggy app?

What you quoted is not a bill. S. Res denotes a Senate resolution. Usually these are nonbinding and are used to do exactly what the one quoted does, recognize someone or some organization for doing something. Members/Senators submit them on behalf of their constituents, they are rarely debated (usually the member/senator who sponsored it says a few words, the other side concurs with five or so minutes of speech, and a vote is scheduled). If it were to say, for example that VZW and Sprint were to be allowed to merge, no court would accept it as law.

In fact, back in 2007, the House of Representatives passed a resolution (denoted H Res) to stop funding to Iraqi war/withdraw troops. It was a non-binding resolution (i.e. it has no power as law and the executive branch has no obligation to pay attention to it), and thus it was pretty much ignored.


So...yeah. Although I do not disagree with most of what you said, having worked on the floor of the US House of Representatives I can say that the type of bribery you are accusing the whole government may happen. However, when there are 434 other people voting on a bill you sponsor, it is hard to actually let that bribery dictate policy absolutely.

Also, I have to say that a lot of the Congressman are NOT the scumbags that people like to characterize all politicians as. Many of them are hard working people who have their constituents best interest at heart. There are a good number who are dirt, though....

And to tie it in to the phone - I wonder how awesome it would look in the GNex screen through Hulu??!!
 
looks like i checked in at the right time....interested to see what Steven has for us :) even though it seems like bad news.
 
Here's a theory. There is no supply problem and the launch is still planned for November/December.

This is the "problem" with these pre-releases. When no info is released the conspiracies and tales of delays abound.

Sorry, don't believe there is an issue at all. The phone will release on Verizons pre-determined date that NOBODY knows and EVERYONE is guessing.

Yeah! We thought it was kinda cheesy the first 10 minutes, but it gets really good. Second episode is fantastic. I really hope they pick this up.

Oh man Hulu on the Gnex would be sweet!! I haven't tried watching it on my phone before, but I have the app on my iPad 2 - looks really good on there.

And I have to say, I find my self strangely drawn to that show. It has a Princess Bride vibe which makes me all nostalgic. Grimm is intriguing too.

Sorry guys but I gotta be honest here.

The longer this release news goes on the more I am leaning towards the Razr.

In need of a new phone ASAP.

All this release BS makes me want to boycott the cell phone industry all together.....they have us all by the balls and they can do whatever they want and its frustrating, either leak things and let us know the date or don't leak anything and make an announcement out of the blue with all the information on the table stringing people along is just a frustrating experience.

Yeah, knowing it has some of the same creators of LOST behind it definitely steered me towards it, and there's a lot of back story it can get into. . .like who's Henry, really? And what did Snow do to Regina that made her all evil? I don't know how they're going to pull off multiple seasons of this, but I didn't see it with LOST at the beginning, either.

Wife and I have been looking forward to new scifi show, now that Eureka's new episodes are done for a while, and no more Smallville, which waasn't all that good after Lex left, I'm really hoping this is pretty good.

Sad thing is, anything goes with these companies.

It's true. But I think that it's always been this way. The difference is that years ago, you didn't have all these forums and leaks and stuff. So no one knew what was coming til it got here.

The internet has changed a lot of things. I already know too much about movies coming out next summer, TV shows being planned, phones coming out, etc. It's a double-edged sword to be getting so much info nowadays.

Thats how I wound up with a Charge for a hold over. I really don't want to be stuck with it too much longer, but at least I have a 90% working phone compared to a 50% working phone like my OG was.

For the build, I would normally be interested in the Razr, but the more I look at it, the uglier it is. And I really want stock Android again! I don't want to root.
 
I had one more thought that will appeal to the Verizon pessimists out there. THe problem isn't an undersupply of GNexi, it is an oversupply of RAZRs and Crap-zounds. So Verizon is holding the GNex hostage till they reduce the supply of those.
