***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Logically speaking, I don’t know why many of us are so pissed.

Verizon said “later this year”. They never said November 3 or 10 and suddenly are reneging on their commitment. Actually, Google and Samsung are the ones that said it was going to release in the US “in November” at the unveiling. If anything, we should be hating on them for giving us false information.

And yet, despite this logical reasoning, I still find myself hating Verizon will most of my energy, and loving Samsung and Google almost as much.

Crazy world, isn’t it?

Technically Google/Samsung didn't give false info if GNex hits US by the end of Nov.

Seems like this kind of launch fiasco keeps happening with the most highly anticipated phones on verizon this year. First with Tbolt, second with Bionic and lastly Nexus to finish this year.

C'mon guys, burntorangefan is joking. He doesn't really think that Sean76 is Another Source.

And Han pulls out his sock full of quarters and starts swinging it slowly, the quarters making little tinkling noises, as he tsks tsks again.

:p JK, I get he was joking.

Hey guys, while we're talking about boosting good vibes in here, I propose we hold a contest for a free Nexus!

We can all pool, say, $10 each into a paypal account that Steven supervises, and then we award the Nexus to the person that gets to 2,000 posts in this thread first!

I think it would be great for morale, don’t you all agree? Hmm?

The general attitude of the GNex crowd sure has taken a dive today. Sheesh!

I would expect no different.

There is a device we want terribly and yet Verizon seems to be sabotaging our desires (whether for business, manufacturing or other reasons). My attitude towards them is very poor at the moment. Were it another company, I would give them the benefit of the doubt. Right now, I just doubt them.

Firstly, I can tell you it didn't come from him. Secondly, if it did, why would you name him publicly, especially when I quoted his specific request for anonymity?

Steven shakes his head.

It was a joke, that's why. No one loves that phone more than Sean, even though none of us have handled it yet. Just an allusion to how nice the other source said the Razr was. Steven gets a virtual massage now to settle...

The more I look at this image, the more I think we could still be in for a pre-Black Friday release. Just look at the text for the Galaxy Nexus: "SAMSUNG HOLIDAY PORTFOLIO (WITH GALAXY NEXUS)". They don't even name it after the phone like they do with the RAZR, Rezound and iPhone.

Considering the presence of the iPhone(which obviously is not just now being released), this definitely looks to be a marketing plan for their stores, rather than a release schedule. Perhaps they will get signage that is supposed to be displayed during the dates on the graphic. And considering that the Nexus doesn't even get its own category, but rather is simply included in the "Samsung Holiday Portfolio", then who's to say it won't be released earlier, but not advertised until after Black Friday?

Ah well, dare to dream.

1) I think this is definitely a marketing schedule. The Rezound and Iphone will certainly be sold beyond their bracketed time slot on there, with the RAZR being Verizon's flagship device getting continual marketing even after the other phones hit the shelves.
2) I'm not confident Verizon even has a firm release date yet (perhaps because of what Steven's Source said about supply issues). Whereas the RAZR, Rezound, and Iphone have their own slots, we have "Samsung holiday package (including Galaxy Nexus)."

While the evidence seems to be mounting that our favorite device is still getting pushed back, I would not view this latest "calendar" as being a firm nail in the coffin.

In two years I hope that ATT's LTE is built out well so that we have choices. That way Verizon can't hold their network over our heads. By then I am sure there will be some other kind of plan out instead of a 2gb, because by that time I figure there will be mass streaming and 2gb will just not be enough. They will have to adjust accordingly. But all year long Verizon has disappointed. I want to know next time I have a choice...

What a mess it's been like in here!

I gotta clean up.

So after looking at that chart, it seem like the Nexus has to release BEFORE black friday. It looks like a advertising plan map...notice the iphone. They aren't releasing a new iphone, yet they show it on that map.

So, I have some speculation of my own to contribute. The significance of a Monday, November 28th release would be that it falls on Cyber Monday (yes, that's a thing), which is the day retailers try to promote online shopping...
Do you think that hints that, in an effort to reduce demand, (since, as we've heard, there are supply issues), they, meaning VZW or Google, might force consumers to buy the Nexus online, and not allow them to buy it from stores?

Again, this is just me thinking out loud, I'm not even sure I believe this. I'm just saying, it could possibly not be a coincidence.

anyone have any idea how much the galaxy nexus will cost retail? I'm not due for an upgrade until next year but would LOVE to own this phone.
