I'm with you. At a casual glance, it looks a heck of lot more like a Gnex than anything else in this generation. Perhaps people hate it becuase the perceived confusion factor?Why all the "hate" on here for the Rezound? I've seen it repeatedly referred to with derogatory names. Typical post says something like "RAZR and *ound", where * is equal to ReH, CrapH, etc. I don't see the same treatment of the RAZR. I don't get it. If I am unable to get the GNex, that one's my first choice.
Agreed, that's all I've ever known or want to know...first smartphone was the N1....is there a website that gives really good instructions or dedicated to roming your phone??? I figure I may start doing some research.
It's good that this will be coming after the 19th, because it be:(TMI warning!)After my first-ever colonoscopy, which
i put off for three years!
Root is not universal. It will change for every phone that comes out. Sometimes the same exploit can be used with a series of phones (Moto Droid line comes to mind), but many times things are just different. With the Galaxy Nexus you can look at the ROOT section in this forum or over at XDA Developers. There will probably be a full step-by-step root guide once the phone is out.
For the Nexus One you can look at these:
Nexus - All Things Root - Android Forums
XDA - Nexus One

<-----does not like title edit
Samsung Galaxy Nexus = 18 letters
Verizon = 7 letters
Google = 6 letters
((18 * 7 * 6 * 3) / 2) - 17 + 7 + 1 = 1125
As a side note, both OTD and Steven have blazing red avatars. I get the feeling these two are Verizon employees that are having way too much fun with the kiddies on this forum.
Welcome to the forum! Based on that post, I think you'll fit in here just fine.It's not that complicated. Much simpler. Take the latest possible release date that you can think of and then add 4 weeks to it. VZW math.
Shameless plug. Only two more twitter follows and I get to 100. Why do I care? I dunno.

soooo sick of the carrier exclusive nonsense. Especially with me being on att. Please!!! someone just find a date that google will sell this phone outright![]()
You should be able to buy it from the overseas carriers on 11/17.
I have to say that I disagree with most of the posts I read that Verizon knows how much hype this phone is causing and them building up a huge launch.....and they are holding it back...
When it is most likely the fact that they have no want to push this phone at all as a premier device. Look at all the past nexus phones AT&T didn't give a crap about that phone....why? Because Google would not allow them to tweak it. What about Sprints Nexus? .....flew under the radar...why? Same thing, no bloat allowed.
So here we are again Google will not allow Verizon to impregnate this phone every time someone buys this device....one less VZnavigator sale and so on for the rest of there crap apps. They will release it shortly...but not before they make a big deal about a few more devices that they know the impatient are going to come in and grab first. Verizon gets nothing from this phone other than a contract extension.
lol ya true, however buying it from an overseas vendor would probably cost like $1000 + after importing euro prices and tax no?
Im willing to pay a normal unsubsidized price for the phone however that's to a new extreme haha.
LOL...I got to hand it to you Chief you make up the wackiest isht I have ever heard hahahahaha.Hey there folks, in an interesting bit of serendipitous timing, I just got off the horn with a (somewhat distant) friend who actually works at VZW, not a rep but farther up, and asked for their advice on upcoming Android phones. Basically my question was not for a recommendation, but: "Which phone would YOU get, and why?"
Interesting response.
I was advised to stay AWAY from Motorola and HTC, because they evidently don't put their phones through the most rigorous of testing and have, therefore, a high return rate. LG and Samsung were mentioned, as was the obligatory Bionic - which has its own share of issues. I was told to make sure I got a 4G phone (of course I'm in a 4G area but Verizon expects to round out the country by 2013).
LONG STORY SHORT: Look at Samsung, and specifically Nexus. I was told that we don't see a lot of advertising for Sammy products, but they go through the most meticulous testing and have the lowest return rate of any phone (other than maybe LG). So from a reliability standpoint, it looks like Nexus wins!
