This isn't a screwed up launch...they haven't even announced a date.
How have they screwed up? lol
by the time they release the phone, it won't be relevant

I have to say that I disagree with most of the posts I read that Verizon knows how much hype this phone is causing and them building up a huge launch.....and they are holding it back...
When it is most likely the fact that they have no want to push this phone at all as a premier device. Look at all the past nexus phones AT&T didn't give a crap about that phone....why? Because Google would not allow them to tweak it. What about Sprints Nexus? .....flew under the radar...why? Same thing, no bloat allowed.
So here we are again Google will not allow Verizon to impregnate this phone every time someone buys this device....one less VZnavigator sale and so on for the rest of there crap apps. They will release it shortly...but not before they make a big deal about a few more devices that they know the impatient are going to come in and grab first. Verizon gets nothing from this phone other than a contract extension.
I'm about ready to explode. All I want is a decent phone, not a gimmick phone. I waited all summer for the GS2 to hit the US... Verizon didn't carry it. I've waited all this time for the GNex, and they're just sitting on it...toying with me.
Verizon, I'm out of contract as of tomorrow. You better hope nobody else releases this phone before you.
Don't worry. They definitely will release the phone for the Christmas shopping season as it is the money-making time for everybody.![]()
Good morning G'nexers.
No news from me and no real posts to review from last night except BMX's over at AC. I do want to take that advertising schedule as the phone will release as a soft (silent launch) before BF and then be advertised with the other Samsung products (Galaxy Tab, etc) after Black Friday. Maybe its just wishful thinking or maybe its something in the back of my head telling me we will see this phone sooner than we think.
I am going to see if any of my friends work at Verizon who might be able to provide some info.
I was just noticing the Razr forum didn't start up until around Oct 14 and it's releasing on Nov 10 (I think), less than a month. Whereas our forum started up in late August and we're HOPING for a November release, pushing 1/4th of a year. No wonder we get restless sometimes.
And it was pretty dormant over there for a while as well. It heated up when Moto made the announcement. I'm happy for them and just a smidge envious they have peace of mind knowing they are 1 week away.
Slightly off topic, but 20K today?

Remember that they are also GSM and not CDMA like Verizon.
Can someone please stop this roller coaster, just for a while.
For those who are out of their Verizon contract...AT&T obviously has the SII and they also are releasing the SII Skyrocket which has LTE technology for $249 on November 6th. It will have a 1.5 GHz (assumed Exynos) processor and a 4.5" Super Amoled Plus screen. Looks to me like the only thing it's missing from the Nexus is a 720p display (which is a moot point because when you look at subpixels, the SII has more subpixels per inch than the Nexus) and ICS. The 4.5" screen will be roughly the same size as the Nexus considering the SII Skyrocket will still have constant menu/control keys at the bottom instead of the software buttons on ICS. If I were out of contract and AT&T was a possibility coverage-wise, I would be making the switch.
Thats all good except I read it is a 1.5GHz Snapdragon, not Exynos.
This is really nothing new and may have been posted before but CNET takes a look at the three new Verizon phones. Mostly surface stuff, nothing too techy. I thought it was interesting anyway.
