And this MAP was spot on for the Droid Bionic 9/8 release date.

I'm a glass half full guy, but I think we're going to be pleasantly surprised if everyone is thinking black friday.:)

Sure i get ya, has there been any investigation into past MAP's and their relation to actual release dates?

Edit: Just saying it says Rhyme 9/29, which was the release date, but I don't know if older MAP's had a different date for the Rhyme prior to 9/29.

Edit 2: After seeing this I'm guessing 10/11 is the day that verizon acknowledges the existence of the phone. Maybe not even open preorder, but say that it's coming.

I'm confused why the Rhyme would even be on MAP list. Thought it was only high end phones. Since the 4G Stratosphere isn't on the MAP lists..

Yep, they hit the Rhyme release date spot on too. To me it seems these map's are more accurate than we're giving credit. Unless someone can show me evidence otherwise.

I see the Verizon site listing the RAZR @ $249.99 on pre-order.

Oooh, Weeh! With a NE2 loyalty discount do you recon its $199.99?

We should be so lucky.

There has been a few of those all with the 11/10 date. But it is just an advertising schedule (minimum advertised price = MAP), not a release schedule. And they are very subject to change. I'd love to see either a release or pre-order on 11/10--- but I wouldn't bet the farm (or even 10 bucks!).

It might not be a release schedule, but they're highly correlated. Doesn't make sense to have a minimum price a device can be sold at before it's released.

For those looking at old MAP's, remember that the thunderbolt was delayed a long time...and that affected the release of other LTE phones.

So if its true that they under-advertise the nexus, shouldn't it be priced less? Admitted devils advocate question but interested in hearing your thoughts.

It kind of makes sense. For example a poster can be put up on 11/10 with a MAP of $299. But then the device is not available until 11/24. Probably not likely, but possible.

More likely is that they just change the MAP date if/when they want/need to.

I REALLY don't get the argument that they just don't care about the Nexus. Remember that they passed on GSII to be able to sell the Nexus. VZW also wanted to be (semi)exclusive with it. They also have it on yesterday's marketing calendar for all of December... likely a big Christmas promotion. And they are not stupid and realize how many people want one.

So why would they put that much effort into something that they don't really care about it?

publish date for the article is Aug. 19th

My bad... I was thinking of a later one. Let's hope that they stick with that 11/10 date!!! :) But I will be shocked if it comes out on 11/10 with still not word as of 11/2. And with the Rezound being announced tomorrow, they won't want to kill it before it even has a chance.

Unless of course they announce 2 phones tomorrow. Which has happened many times with verizon. Not sure if they have a history of dual announcments of high end phones, but a little google searching could probably find out.

Also remember: the droid bionic was only officially announced a day before the release. The announce to release date with verizon has been usually 1 week or less. if they aren't going with a super promotion, it's possible it's released within a few days of the official announcement.

Here's another thought. VZW knows that the European release is on 11/17. And they know that many people may choose to import from overseas to run on a competing US network. Wouldn't it make sense to curtail those efforts and allow the US to purchase in the US on or before 11/17?

It will be interesting to see how it all pans out after the fact. I would venture to guess that if it is released after 11/17, it will be because it was out of their control (supply problem, software glitch, etc...).

Why does everyone think we will hear something tomorrow?
Tomorrow is thursday - Verizon does releases on thursday - so I believe some people are thinking after we hear about the Rezound tomorrow from HTC that Verizon might be more inclined to announce a release for the Gnex.

I am skeptical that Verizon will make a GNex announcement tomorrow because it will take some of the spotlight off the HTC Rezound. Might irk HTC a little bit.
