As soon as Verizon confirms I am putting in a time off request and will do the same thing.

Best part is I am coming from a TB so I just pop in the SIM and...BLAM, POW, KAZAAM...activated! (for the Batman reference earlier).

Well, I'll be standing at the door before they open, money ready, and offer a big honkin' commission to whatever rep will meet my criteria:

(a) A virgin, untouched Nexus from down in the stack;
(b) I put the battery in, turn it on and do all the stuff to it;
(c) They stand at their computer and do the dirty work;
(d) I sign the papers and walk out with my new Nexus and a semi-retired (but still Beloved) OG Droid.

And if they won't do that... I'll find a rep who WILL.

AFAIK, for activating the phone on Verizon's network (at least this is how ATT used to work), of course you'll have to move all your apps over and what not...
