On a side note just wanted to wish everyone a happy eid (Muslim holiday where we get gifts !!)

Well, it's been fun but I've come to realize that a) BB sucks and b) that having a working Android phone is really essential to organization and c) that I don't really have the $ for upgrading to Nexus now. I don't know exactly when I will have the $ either...we are waiting for a house to sell and who knows how long that may take.

So what's a girl to do? It turns out that right now with Wirefly I could get a Dinc2 for an upgrade with zero dollars out of pocket, and so I did. Hearing so many of you talk about the Incredible had an effect on me, I guess. My new baby is on its way.

I'm sorry I won't be joining you for Nexus fun but I will be definitely checking in to see how things are going with your new babies, which you will have in hand very very soon.

Keep it cool and I can't wait to see pics of y'all with your Nexii!

I'm going to submit my guess as to why we don't have a firm release date yet. I'm sure others have made this guess as well, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that we don't have a firm date yet because the release date is not yet firm. There may be an internal release date "set," perhaps the 17th, as we've been hearing, but I'm betting that VZW isn't 100% sure when they'll be ready to release the GNex. Since they're not sure, they don't want to give us a date only to change it later and look even worse.

I'm not really buying the 21st because it doesn't make sense. My opinion, which admittedly isn't based on much, is that if we don't see it the 17th, we won't see it until the week after Thanksgiving.

I stopped in at Sprint yesterday to hold the GSII to get a general idea of what the GNex would feel like. I LOVE IT! Compared to my Dinc, it's size and weight will be a HUGE win for me. I'm now actually excited about this phone.

"After you unlock the device, you notice the Google search bar, which is present on all the home screens, the 5 icons below (that are customizable, well, actually, at least 4 of them are, because the middle one, “All apps”, isn’t going anywhere), as well as the fact that you can’t “pinch to zoom” anymore and you can’t add / remove any screens. "

Has anyone seen this verified anywhere else? Is this due to pending Apple patents or am I missing something? What is the zoom gesture on this device?

I'm surprised (but not displeased) that Microsoft's market share is going down. I thought WP7 would pick 'em back up, but apparently not, haha.

The fact that Android's growing the fastest gives me a little more faith in the portion of humanity that buys smartphones

They mean that you can't pinch to zoom on the homescreen any more, pinch-to-zoom in apps works as normal. Pre-ICS, pinching on the homescreen gave you an Expose-esque view of all your homescreens simultaneously.

Then Jungle came by my foxhole and invited me to take a walk with him and shoot the breeze. I won’t get into any details, but yeah, he’s not coming back either.

Now today EarlyMon tells us he “permanently sent someone away”, which is code for he lined someone up against one of the bamboo huts and put a few slugs into him. Don’t know who it was, and I’m not going to try and find out. I don’t think Early would approve of me digging into what doesn’t concern me.

And now Mags is leaving us, walking off into the jungle after her new toy.

How many more will we lose? Huh, Verizon, you bloodthirsty bastards? Do we have to take Steven out behind the shed before you decide to release the stupid thing? What’s it going to take?!
