***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Hey guys, just want to make a point regarding the poorly constructed graphic showing some release/marketing schedules for double data and also the SGN, as posted by Droid-Life:

verizon-double2.jpg

As you can see, this image shows that double data doesn't start until 11/24, but as we've seen today, it's up and available today! So, going on the somewhat shaky assumption that the graphic is legit(even if ugly and crudely drawn), then we can definitely draw the conclusion that 11/28 does NOT necessarily have to mean that it's the actual release date of the SGN.

Just throwing some optimism out there for anyone who's on the downward part of this SGN roller coaster ;) Here's hoping for an 11/17 release date!

I am going to try and pace myself so my 1000th post is the day I tell you I have my Gnex!

Hitting some personal milestones for myself today.

500 posts in this thread, and 500 thanks. Closing in on 1000 posts.

Woohoo!

Plus we'll probably see 24k today! This thread is pretty Epic.

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark svt_geek and say you drive a focus svt

Yeah, I owned one and drove the heck out of it for about 4-5 years. Sold it to a good friend a little over a year ago. Since then the progression has been BMW 325i and F150 Supercrew 4x4. I don't know if I can go much bigger on future vehicles without being in danger of not fitting on the road.

I say you should consider the Sherman tank.

Then you could use your GNEX to navigate and it won't really matter if you fit on the road anyway, since you would just crush everything in your way.

With all the awesome specs the HTC Edge is coming out with, wonder why it's got capacitive buttons; I'd figure all 2012 Android phones would have 4.0 already.

Strange.

I have come to realize these professional looking blog/news sites are nothing more than forum lurkers who copy and paste in hopes folks will go to their site and click on the advertizements that get them paid.

There is no Barbara Walters, Andy Rooney types in our new cellular device world. We need reporters who knock on Samsung's or Google's doors and attempt to get word from their offices.

UGH!
Maybe we can get Geraldo to go digging in the Google vaults for the lost Nexus!

On topic: I didn't get a chance to stop by the Verizon store yesterday, but I think I'll swing by today during lunch to get a feel for the RAZR. Just out of curiosity. Not really interested, but there's a Panera right next door, so might as well hit two birds with one stone.

Off topic:
As much as we're fans of Chuck, my wife and I both agree that it's time for it to go. Getting way too predictable, even down to the dialogue!

Hmmm...that HTC phone is very intriguing.....if that is a Jan/Feb release date phone I might consider a wait for that.

Pinkie swear you aren't gonna walk out with a pre-order

Sorta SGN related because I cannot wait for someone else I know to get a phone with NFC and then go out to dinner and split the bill via the new Paypal app. It looks so sleek.

PayPal For Android Updated To Version 3.0 - Adds NFC Support, Tablet Compatibility, UI Design Changes, And More

Come to jersey - I'll go to dinner.

Did I hear right that it has a sealed-in battery? If so, nothing would make me want to purchase it. HTC has crappy battery life, and now they want to make it non-removable? Almost as senseless (pun intended) as putting in a sub-1700 mAh battery in the ReHound.

No chance. This article at Engadget says that it's got an OMAP 4430, which I assume is overclocked, and that the display has only 240dpi. Seems subpar on paper.

Yeah I will probably hit 1000 today too, fun!

Yay!!!!

K. Good.
not that we'd all stop talking to you but we KNOW how much you want this phone and we KNOW how frustrated you are :D

Looks pretty similar to the Chase app.

That's what I thought but since I got rid of them last year I could only go by what the commercials show.
