Good morning everyone! Got up extra early this morning in hopes that we get some kinda official news from Verizon, or maybe even a preorder! Today is the 10th, that magical number we saw on all of the various leaked MAP documents, yesterday was a great day for info, I'm feeling like today will be the same!

I got up at 530 AM EST this morning, just SURE that *SOMETHING* was gonna happen after Midnight last night...... but nope.

Things are way too quiet out here, it looks like if the 17th IS "THE Day" then we will NOT be getting a pre-order (don't pre-orders usually go about a week out?)

Oh man, I am IN LOVE with LTE, my data speeds are 20 times what it was on 3G.

I know what you mean! I owned the Charge for about a week, the speeds are blistering! I returned it after I noticed that it doesnt have a message indication light! I am glad I did even if it was painful :D

I am limping along with a loaner Charge from a family member until the Nexus shows up (Could not handle ONE. MORE. DAY with that %#%$^# Bionic). There is a free APP called "noled" that is an "OK" substitute for not having the LED...... I wouldnt want it long-term, but it is serviceable for a few weeks.

At least I hope it's just for a few weeks..............

Here is the link, just in case there are any other "Chargers" out there waiting along with me.......

Good morning G'Nexers and hopefully we are only 1 week away from having the phone in our hands.

Regarding the FCC filing above, the Samsung SC-04D did pass through the FCC last night, which is the NTT DoCoMo version of the Galaxy Nexus. You can see the filing here if you are interested: https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas...e=N&application_id=855397&fcc_id='A3LSWDSC04D'

There was no SCH-i515 passing through last night, although I expect to see it some time next week and I am sure either myself or someone will be on top of FCC filings.

I'm gonna start converting movies for this thing using Handbrake -- will test some profiles tonight although I am sure a regular 720p mp4 profile will work just fine.

Looks like its going to be a LONG day at work with our consultant again - hopefully you guys can keep me busy when he we are downloading and uploading repositories to our servers.

I know we all are talking about the ups & downs, the peaks and valleys, the rollercoaster we have been on the last month or so, etc.......

but maybe we are not going so much "up and down" as we are "forward and back"........

Gonna Make It - YouTube

I know for me personally, I simply MUST stay away from the VZW store for the next few days - I don't trust myself as to what I might do if I go put my hands on a Razr........ :o :o :o

The speed is like crack, so addicting. I've wanted to try other phones that are 3g but can't bring myself to switch.

Yes. I can't wait to experience LTE speeds on my phone. Probably around the end of 2013 when my contract is about up :p

I don't expect to have LTE in south county Rhode Island anytime soon heh.

My signal is so awful in the building where I work, and the network is overloaded, I get between 0.1 and 0.15 MBps with my 3G connection. I just ran speed test with the LTE connection and got 3MBps. Now I know that is crappy for LTE (in Augusta and Hilton Head I saw 20-30MBps), but from what I am coming from, its awesome. It could just be because they are testing it, or I just will never get a decent speed at my desk, but I could care less, 3 MBps is enough to have a decent surfing and streaming experience. Now bring on the GNex :D

they are going live with 4G in some areas of Rhode Island on Nov 17th......

Hello fellow hopeful G'Nexers! I've seen a few people talking about converting blu-rays for their Nexus. I have a blu-ray player for my TV and several blu-rays, but I don't have a blu-ray drive on my computer. Is it possible to use a program like handbrake to convert a blu-ray from a normal DVD drive? I know this sounds unlikely, I'm just hoping to be able to take advantage of the 720p resolution on the Nexus....

No, the drive needs to be able to read the Blue Ray, a DvD drive can't its a hardware issue.

Some areas, yeah. Around Providence, and I think they have the airport covered.

I think they said sometime in 2013 is the goal to have all 3g areas covered with LTE. I can't think of the last time I found myself in a non-3g area on verizon. As hard as the wait is for the LTE rollout, I'm pretty amazed with how fast verizon is rolling it out.

Ah well. At least we have Fios :)

I woke up this morning hoping, but certainly not expecting, to see an e-mail from VZW inviting me to pre-order the GNex.

With no pre-order yet begun, still no sign of the LTE GNex at the FCC, and no official release announcement from VZW, it seems suspicious that the rumored release date is now just one week away.

If this thing does launch on the 17th, I will be pleasantly surprised. Maybe the 17th is when VZW will start pre-orders?

Well, here's to hoping we see this great phone soon! Cheers! :)

So as I sit at work about to listen to music on my Thunderbolt...and envision doing so with my GNex very soon...I realize how much I'm going to miss the kickstand, it really is a useful feature. :-( Then I realize, nothing an office dock can't handle!

We're looking at days G-gals and guys!

I don't use it too much, but it is convenient. A desktop dock would be nice, but I am leaning towards putting a case on mine, so its such a hassle to deal with that...

I doubt we'll have a pre-order period. Maybe a web-only launch, but a pre-order period seems unlikely.

Anyway, we've talked about this a lot already, but I'll just restate that the Nexus could've passed through the FCC long ago, but Verizon/Samsung chose to withhold it from the public until after launch.

Thirdly, this wouldn't be the first time Verizon's released a phone with less than a week's notice.

On top of all that, the Nexus cases have started appearing in Verizon stores, and Verizon accessories have been appearing on the Samsung US website. So, what I'm saying is, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. 17th or bust!

Good morning, everyone. I just got on VZW and searched for Nexus, and got sniped by a CSR. I made up some song and dance about wanting to switch from AT&T to Verizon before the 22nd because that's when a new billing cycle begins at AT&T for me (I know, I know, I'm a genius), and wanted to know if the SGN would be available before then. She said that she thought so.

Also, I said that "my friend" said that cases were getting sent to stores now and that means the phone is coming in a few days, right? She said no, that phones are available online before they are in stores. She did say "phones" plural, so she might be referring to all phones in general, which I don't think is true, or she might be referring to the most recent releases, which is true.

I'm sitting at VZW waiting to be sniped again. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything else.
