I shutter to think I'm actually suggesting this.

Anyone on Twitter want to ping Windsock (P3) to confirm battery @ 7.77Wh. Then again, I don't know if his friends' phones are final builds, so maybe scrap that idea.

I did already, at the store. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate it maybe an 8 or 8.5.

I'm tempted, though, because I just want something new and I'm tired of looking at my OG Droid. But I suppose I'll just hang in there.

You've run the marathon. 26miles down, now just .2 to go.

Don't stop now, damnit!!!. Crawl if you have to, but get to that finish line.

Ok, you can obviously do what you want. But we all want you here.

I'll be sticking around til the end. I'm just getting anxious. A good solid leak or two today will help out a lot I'm sure.

I'm curious to hear what some of your experiences with 4G LTE are. I currently have a Dinc which has absolutely terrible battery life so I'm really REALLY hoping for something better with the Gnex even with 4G on all day.

I have to say that sometimes I wonder if LTE is worth the battery life trade off. Full disclosure...the only smarphone I've ever owned is this HTC Thunderbolt...VZW's first LTE phone. I can't compare battery life with a 3G phone, and I rarely run in 3G mode on TB.

My experience with the device...and I caution, many have claimed they don't have this issue...is that battery life on 4G stinks. I am looking to buy the GNex, in large part, in hopes of a little upgrade in battery life. No guarantees though.

Battery life is one of MY biggest priorities. Many will advise there are ways to manage battery life, but I personally don't find those options acceptable. For those who have yet to deal with a LTE smartphone on VZW, I hope you temper your battery life expectations. For me it's more disappointing than even my monthly bill from VZW.

That's why I hope so bad that 21mah battery is for GNex! Mods, feel free to move my rant to the battery discussion if I crossed a line.

Just got off the phone with Verizon CSR. I explained that I heard about this new phone called the Galaxy Nexus and I might be interested but I'm worried that my 12/31/11 NE2 upgrade may not apply. They said there is a date but they are not allowed to share it b/c it can change. CSR immediately said..."if it releases in December, you could apply your upgrade since it's less than a month away". I sweet talked for quite awhile and I could sense they wanted to tell me, but they were being a good employee. Finally they said..."if you believe the blogs, it's going to come out on Dec 2". Totally had the feeling of one of those "wink, wink" moments like I'm not officially allowed to tell you the date I'm staring at but...here you go.

As we all know, there's multiple dates on the blogs so why single that one out? Yep, I know it conflicts with the source and I'm hoping this individual, or my feeling was wrong. Just sharing what I experienced.

That's the single biggest complaint about the Tbolt. Everyone hates the battery life.

However, there are other 4G handsets that get more acceptable battery life. Droid Charge and Droid Bionic to name a few.

I've been weakening, but your resolve and BB's cheerleading have been getting me by thus far. :D

I think optimizing the OS and utilizing dual cores should greatly improve the battery life. If you believe what the Windsock and BMX say then the battery life on GNex is actually quite respectable...

From a reliable source: For the last 4 days, any calls or emails to VZW that mention "Nexus" or "SGN" are automatically transferred to the VZW SOG ( special operations group ). This group has been designed to provide misinformation. Most members have been pulled from tech support, to ensure that they know absolutely nothing.

There's just something about the 10th. I keep going back to the Verizon Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) lists from a couple weeks ago.

"Droid RAZR 10/27/11" (there's that preorder date)...

"HTC Rezound 11/10/11" (and we know buyers are already receiving them)...

And last but not least: "Samsung Galaxy Nexus 11/10/11"

I'm right there on the emotional rollercoaster with everyone else, but something tells me we will see online preorders today, in-store marketing up 11/15, and in-store sales 11/17.

Fingers crossed. Come on MAP. Don't let me down!

Give it till Monday or Tuesday guys... Till the RAZR and Rezound(still hate the name) actually LAUNCH.

More things will slip out, expecting VZW to slip up now after keeping such tight lid on GN news is wishful thinking.

And finally, it is not morally ethical. I know some will disagree with me, but when you pick up something with no intention to keep it, just to return it, that costs you time and money, costs verizon money, and ends up costing everyone more money. Drop in the bucket, for sure, but it still doesn't make it right.

I understand your view, but honestly it was more a suggestion towards those who lack a serviceable phone.

First of all, considering that Verizon forces you you into a 2-yr contract to get any phone at a reasonable price, I personally don't find it unethical to "rent" a phone for a 14-day period. The highest end phones have production costs in the range of $100-250, yet they're slapped with a $500+ retail.

I'm not gonna get into the details on how Verizon grossly overcharges for their wireless services to offset the rest of their divisions, or how even refurbished phones are profitable to both VZW and insurance companies.

My point was those without a phone should consider it an option.

Oh yeah btw

7 days!

Yes, 7 days. But til what?

These boards are worse than conspiracy theorists with the illuminati and trilateral commision.

Are you talking about 4g standby battery life? That's probably my biggest worry as well. I used to think that switching between 3g/4g when necessary would be good enough, but after using a company TB I found the handoff times to be annoying...

Just got an email from Verizon and got all excited and then read the subject "Introducing Droid RAZR " :( I have a thermodynamics exam on Tuesday I need to study for and all I can do is sit here and look at info on this phone.:o They have got to release this thing so I can go back to being somewhat productive.

After all the discussion last night about a retailer store taking my money for a preorder on the SGN I'm a little worried. :/

I wouldn't be worried at all.

However, resellers might not be guranteed stock on launch day if supply is constrained. So it may take an extra couple of days to get yours, but you'll get it.

But that would defeat the purpose of his preorder. With a preorder one hopes they get it early, but at least the same time as anyone purchasing in a store.
