With a little indulgence from the Mods for yet another OT post...

Thank you to all who served, US and Allied. Their dedication and sacrifice allow people like us to fritter our time away obsessing about phones, poker, Bears, Giants, cars, etc.

If you are so inclined, my favorite non-partisan tribute is here: When I Come Home - YouTube

Kleenex mandatory.

Nice OT post.

Also great screen name. :)

When you go to someone's sandbox, you agree to abide by their rules. If you don't like those rules, find another sandbox to play in or build your own. You don't get to tell someone else how to run their show.

Well said. Thank you.

Everyone relax, this phone is tearing this family apart! :(

Yes it is. I think the closer we get the more on edge and manic we are going to be. Try to look at something from all sides when you are thinking of saying something that has potential to be taken wrong.

Thought about what you were asking a little more. The point I was getting at is it is awful hard to find one of these " warning" posts in a thread with over 26k posts. Not everyone will sit here and read the WHOLE thread so there is a really good chance they will never see it. Hell I never even read the first page of the thread.

That is a good point.

To everyone, The first post is the most important post in this thread.
If there is any updates it will be there.:)

We need some good news today so we can relax for the weekend.:)

In the mean time, here is a great Nexus song from the past>>

<< Where oh where are you tonight, why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world all over and thought that I found true love.
And :p you were gone.

More hee-haw! Woot! now I have that song in my head...

Thanks for posting that - glad I decided on the waterproof mascara today.
Love your SN & your avatar!

Dear AF,
You need a sense of humor. BTW, in case you're wondering (and you know you are) here is the infraction.

Go ahead and remove my account. You clearly need to get a life. I have been a good contributor to this forum for almost 2 years. You truly have no understanding of how to lighten up. It was written as a joke, intended as a joke, at NO TIME was ever presented as a fact. Wield you little power as you will. Explain to me how harassing CSR's, or most any other "off topic" (which by the way accounts for at least 20% of all posts in this thread) are any different than what I posted. Truth is, you didn't think it was funny, you have "mod power" lol and you exercised it. Have fun with that. Oh no, what ever will I do without AF? LOL

Hey Cincy, I thought your joke was funny. At first I was fooled with the pic but once I found out it was a joke, I had to laugh because I realized 1) how out of reality I am with this phone 2) Gave me new perspective.

On the same token of your joke, I think you are taking this infraction a little too seriously. Yeah it sucks. Nobody ever wants to be reprimanded or disagreed with but you had your fun with it and forum rules have to be applied somehow. I think that if you "have a life" outside of this forum as you stated, then don't even sweat this infraction. It's meaningless when compared to real life.

Just saying cause I would hate to not see you contribute here anymore......

Ah, but you see, it's this phone that brought our family together ;)

Anyway, seriously, Droid-Life has been behind on everything Gnex related recently: Battery Cover for Galaxy Nexus Headed to Verizon Pops Up at Samsung Site – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Interesting. Not a huge logo so I can handle it. Just saying 4g would have been enough IMO but it could be a lot worse.

Curious how this battery size will play out in the end. Even the smaller of the potential sizes would be better than what's in the charge and I can make it through the work/school day with moderate usage, although barely.

With the massive increase in posting I've decided to be a lurker today. Just a heads up: I'M ALWAYS WATCHING...so y'all play good now ya hear?

To be honest, being reprimanded didn't tick me off, it was removing the pic that did it. I was mad 15 minutes before the silly infraction came along.

ugh god......I don't think I am going to make it through work today....now nexus news and its Friday afternoon man this day is dragging.

Eh, you shouldn't sweat it, man. If it wasn't for my deleted pics and posts, I'd be over 2000 posts in here already. My sense of humor is sometimes edgy, I know that, so it comes with the territory. ;)

Your contacts are stored in your GMail account correct?

If so just add your account to the SGN and boom it will sync contacts down from the web.

I tell EVERYONE I know with an android to be sure they are saving new contacts to their google account. My sister in law wasn't and lost them ALL

if you have contacts saved on google then yes it will import them automatically, it will also back up any new contacts you enter to google so they are always there.

edit: I am assuming you mean logging into your google account on your phone once you get it.

Yes logging into my phone, I think it's with a Gmail account, right?.

I really don't use my Gmail account for email because I've been using a Yahoo account for so long, I can't even fathom how I'd make the transition. But I've often wondered if there would be a benefit to use the Gmail account since it is integrated with the entire Google suite of applications.

Since the other Veterans Day posts were appreciated, I will share this. I will understand if it is deemed off-topic and I am asked to remove it, but I hope not.

What is a Veteran?

Some veterans bear visible signs of their service: a missing limb, a jagged scar, a certain look in the eye.

Others may carry the evidence inside them: a pin holding a bone together, a piece of shrapnel in the leg - or perhaps another sort of inner steel: the soul's ally forged in the refinery of adversity.

Except in parades, however, the men and women who have kept America safe wear no badge or emblem.
You can't tell a vet just by looking.

He is the cop on the beat who spent six months in Saudi Arabia sweating two gallons a day making sure the armored personnel carriers didn't run out of fuel.

He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the cosmic scales by four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th parallel.

She - or he - is the nurse who fought against futility and went to sleep sobbing every night for two solid years in Da Nang.

He is the POW who went away one person and came back another - or didn't come back AT ALL.

He is the Quantico drill instructor who has never seen combat - but has saved countless lives by turning slouchy, no-account rednecks and gang members into Marines, and teaching them to watch each other's backs.

He is the parade - riding Legionnaire who pins on his ribbons and medals with a prosthetic hand. He is the career quartermaster who watches the ribbons and medals pass him by.

He is the three anonymous heroes in The Tomb Of The Unknowns, whose presence at the Arlington National Cemetery must forever preserve the memory of all the anonymous heroes whose valor dies unrecognized with them on the battlefield or in the ocean's sunless deep.

He is the old guy bagging groceries at the supermarket - palsied now and aggravatingly slow - who helped liberate a Nazi death camp and who wishes all day long that his wife were still alive to hold him when the nightmares come.

He is an ordinary and yet an extraordinary human being - a person who offered some of his life's most vital years in the service of his country, and who sacrificed his ambitions so others would not have to sacrifice theirs.

He is a soldier and a savior and a sword against the darkness, and he is nothing more than the finest, greatest testimony on behalf of the finest, greatest nation ever known.

So remember, each time you see someone who has served our country, just lean over and say Thank You. That's all most people need, and in most cases it will mean more than any medals they could have been awarded or were awarded.

Two little words that mean a lot, "THANK YOU".

"It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protestor to burn the flag."
