Root [ROM] CTMod 3.80 (04/06/13)

I am not completely sure on this but if you flashed ctmod for gingerbread an you are running stock froyo it may not work.

I thought the ctmod GB would update/override the froyo shabbymod .9, but perhaps that is not the case. Ive tried restoring to stock or flashing stock, but no fix

it might? I should look at the first post :D

looks like this would work, flashes the new kernel at the same time.

I was talking with shabby before I did it, he said it would/should update the phone to GB then install the ctmod ROM.

Dont be mad shabby, Im not trying to get you in trouble :P

it will overwrite shabbymod and everything else in /system but you can't flash it over froyo

if you want 2.0 you need to be on GB already, use one of the odins for then flash it

Ok, so I can dl the "DOWNLOAD EJ06 Gingerbread Rooted Image with CWM5 made by Chin Checka" from the odin(return to stock) thread? Or do I need the EE14 stock one? Dumb question, Im sure

I tried 2.0 for GB, but I have/had froyo, as far as I know

These are the steps I took to get ctmod 2.0 on my phone

1. Used Odin (stickied thread) to install Gingerbread stock. (I use stock, because Chin's hasn't worked for me.)
2. Used shabby's OCR (stickied thread) to root phone.
3. Used Odin to install Hroarks CWM5 (stickied thread)
4. Then installed ctmod 2.0 through CWM.
5. Then installed bloodawn's hot fixes for bluetooth and email.

One of the things I have learned is to read the directions carefully. Then read them again. I have found it also a good idea to go through the particular thread I am interested in. Others have interesting tips to try, and often lead you into trying new things in different threads. (like installing a2sd...) I have learned a lot just following some of the dev's conversations.

Ok awesome, I have that started to dl now. After thats done, just use Odin to flash the EJ06 and that will put the phone on GB then i can run your ctmod correct?

Yea

I think the reason flashing 2.0 over froyo won't work btw is cause the rom doesn't include the new modem

OK. I just updated my phone to Gingerbread & flashed CTMod 2.0 to my prevail. I have noticed that sometimes (not every time) that after I connect the USB data cable to a PC, my phone will tell me that USB debug mode is turned on. I don't go in & activated debug. Does anyone else get this?

Finally got GB and ctmod2.0 on the phone, the only issue im having now is I keep losing signal/service and the media scanner keeps randomly running/completing/running. And bluetooth keeps turning itself on and locking the screen. Other than that, beautiful! lol

/EDIT

PS - Yall are amazing for pimping out this otherwise ghetto phone. Just badass

Did you do a factory reset? i haven't seen anybody else mention that happening

If your going to be using bluetooth you'll have to flash the bluetooth fix thats on the last page btw

Thanks Bloodawn. I installed CTmod 2.0 without any problems and it's awesome.

I just had a couple questions. Is there a way to rearrange or remove some of the buttons that appear in the notification widget? I looked for that widgets.txt file that you could modify before in order to change what options you wanted but couldn't find it. Also, is there a way to change the britghness and other settings like there was on the froyo version with the power control app?

Anybody know how to change the brightness from the notification bar? It looks like GB has the auto-brightness in the notification bar, but it doesn't seem to do anything when I turn it on.

BTW - ever since loading the BT and email fix, my phone has been running fantastic! Love CTMod!

I'll be trying to figure out how to add a way people can customize it tho

Hi Bloodawn

I've been tryin reinstall JobManager.apk on your ctmod 2.0 with file expert with no luck. Gallery3d.apk installed, i grabbed it from stockapps. i have two versions of JobManager.apk, one from froyo and the other one i backed up myself before flashing ctmod 2.0 and this one has an JobManager.odex file. It appears active in system/apps when searchin with file expert but does not appear in zeam launcher app dawer, i have rebooted to see if it helps.

delete w/e jobmanager you have in /system/app right now and use the new one from the zip in the first post

I did all sorts of factory resets lol. It seems to be fixed for now. Awesome job

can someone confirm this. I want to move some apps around for more space. I think this is right :

(using root explorer)
moving from /data/app to /system/app. Than clear out dalvik-cache. Is this right ? will it work with this rom ?

no, if you put non-system apps in the /system/app folder, you'll end up screwing up your phone
