anyone buying a RAZR/Rezound with the full intent to return it?

after this news from VZ today, is anyone else considering it?

i am planning using my sister's upgrade on the nexus and giving her my thunderbolt, but she simply cannot wait any longer on a new phone. Her droid has a broken screen and will power itself off for hours at a time with no way to turn it back on. i am seriously thinking about buying a RAZR with every intent to return it the day the nexus is released just so that i can get the 'bolt into her hands now. if i make her wait any longer, she is going to use her upgrade and i will be stuck without a nexus until november 2012.

VZ seems to be seriously screwing themselves with this new return policy along with keeping us in the dark on the nexus. if they would just provide a release date, i would not be tempted to buy a device i know i don't want, but my sister is getting tired of me telling her "soon" with no other information. if no info on the nexus is out by thursday this is the route i am going, $35 restocking fee be damned.
 
Hmmmm.....I'm tempted to go buy the razr or rezound to hold me over but my luck I'd get stuck with it...

waiting it out for me may mean waiting more than a year though, lol. my sister is trying to be nice enough to let me use her upgrade, but she needs a new phone NOW. if i have to tell her the GNex is not going to be released in the next week, she is going to have to use the upgrade herself. this would mean waiting until november 2012 for my next upgrade. :eek:

VZ is not giving me much choice in the matter. :mad:

If I were in your situation, I'd go with it.

Ohhh. I'm a bit confused but I guess $35 is worth a year in that case.
 
They probably wouldn't accept it if it had damage to it caused by the user.

This news is awesome and it will help in my decision process. I'm going ReZound though not the RaZr.
 
Can someone send me the source of this info so I can see for myself and be able to prove it to a vzw rep should things go sour later?

only if you have damaged it. talk them into a free screen protector in the store when you buy it (works every time), and get them to put it on so that they have no excuses for scratches on the screen when you bring it back and DON'T DROP IT! if i end up buying one of them, i will be so scared of dropping it. no way i am going to buy a case for a phone i don't intend to keep, so i would have to be ultra careful with it.
 
I am good with my Dinc, no need to get something just to get something for me. I can wait, and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait....hurry up Verizon!
 
yeah I want to switch from ATT to Verzion and I`m really thinking of getting the HTC REZ. and exchanging it for the GNEX when it comes out, I just want to get away from ATT
 
I just ordered an HTC Rezound but not 100% I'll return it . I've been so back and fourth between these two devices I figured I'd buy it for a couple weeks and if it doesn't blow me away I'll exchange it for the Nexus and if I miss the return window (I might not get the extended return policy since I ordered online today but they aren't shipping it till tomorrow ?? so we'll see) but I've got a few upgrades to burn and more coming up

I can't wait to get the Rezound in the mail and test it out seems like a really solid device

Yo Jim...

I went and grabbed the Razr Friday...I gotta say, very cool device!

However mine had some seriously crazy screen issues with blotches on the screen when it was Black! Anyway, if not for that, I would have kept it! And seeing that some other people were having the same issue I just bailed on even bothering to try another.

As for the Rezound....screen is crystal clear! However it looks a little washed out to me...Camera is on the money, and of course the usual HTC mumbo jumbo with sense and all is pretty solid....but I just couldn't see spending $649 for it IMO. I know u really like HTC, so for your needs with maybe rooting and doing all that stuff, this may be up your alley brother.

Im going to just rock my Bionic until the Nexus arrives...

Yeah Samsung and me have had a bad relationship and HTC and myself have gotten along great lol

I'm hoping CM9 comes soon as the source code got released today since I use wifi tether a lot I'm probably gonna hook up my Rezound on my second line for a few days as wireless tether on my EVO kinda blows
 
Yes, maybe when Verizon gets bombed with returns on Nexus day they will think twice about what customers want.
 
Wanted the razr to work out, but knowing the gnex would be out soon, I went for the razr, figuring i'd change is I had any doubts.

They took the razr and all of the accessories back minus the restocking fee, no problem. :cool:
 
Tempting, but I've waited this long. My Dinc's itching to be replaced. A couple weeks won't kill me, I think ;)

yeah... i went to a verizon store and checked it out today. it was surprisingly light. screen was definitely nice, but i hate sense. would have to wait several weeks or so for a rom to remove it, so i might as well wait for the nexus.

i dunno. :confused:
 
Another thing to consider...go with another carrier for awhile. I went to T-Mobile and got me a Samsung GS2. NICE phone! Really like it except it being on T. Wish we had one on Verizon. So I'm keeping that for a few days, taking it back. Then will,depending on the continuing wait for the Nexus, go get a Razr/Rezound of which I'm undecided. Wait for another however long till the Nexus comes out. Which by that time I will either love or hate the phone I picked and want desperately to return it,lol. I'll tell ya one thing...that GS2 is one NICE phone,for sure....I'm gonna hate taking it back......alot......

i would never leave verizon. being grandfathered into unlimited LTE for as long as i continue to pay for a data plan is too good a deal to give up.

I'm going through the same situation. My brother's D1 is on it's last leg and I am going to give him my X2. I will wait until this weekend. If we still have no release date for the Nexus, then I'll grab a Razr or Rezound. Then return it once the Nexus hits.

Normally, I wouldn't even consider something like this because I don't think it's right. But Verizon is forcing my hand by not giving a release date. If they at least gave a release date, I could let my brother know straight up when he will get my phone...

So you signed a contract with T mobile??
