***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Yeah I saw that too...

"Then there's the fact that today's Android event appears to involve T-Mobile. Google's original invitation shows a building with the T-Mobile logo printed on its side; T-Mobile later followed up with an invitation of its own touting an after-party that'll let everyone "experience the world of T-Mobile and Google." T-Mobile, as you know, has partnered with Google on Nexus device launches in the past."

At this rate T-Mobile will release the Nexus before Verizon! And Google can tell Verizon to shove it because they gave them a month to release it first. If that happens I'm switching to ATT and getting an iPhone. :-p

lol if it comes out for tmobile just buy it from there unsubsidized and use it on ATT. If its GSM it should work on both.

And something I thought of last night while trying to figure this whole fiasco out, just follow me here...

Is it possible that VZW was given the US exclusive for, let's say 30 days and that the 11/3 date was in fact meant to be the original release date? Then along came deals with the razr and rezound and vzw thought it couldn't pass up given their relationship with moto and htc and it would be in their best interests to lose some of its exclusivity period rather than have to try to sell people on devices using the "old" version of android instead of the new ICS?? Seems like this is by far the most likely reason(in some variant) that we sit where we currently sit

My guess is that the exclusivity period ends when 2011 ends.

All right everyone. I built a Q&D polling application that will check this page every five minutes. Based on the Galaxy Nexus Accessories link, we now know the PhoneID is 5801, so if they stealthily add the SGN to their website without any fanfare, we'll now know with this URL! As soon as the word Nexus shows up anywhere on that page, visible or not, I will receive a text and you guys will be the first to know!

Unless I'm sleeping, then yeah, someone else will get it out there first.

Actually I have had other issues in the past with them where they've totally d-bagged me for charges I never even incurred. But that's neither here nor there. Companies should always look out for their customers whenever possible. That generates a ton of good will and translates into better profits down the line.

I don't understand why it's so unreasonable to expect solid customer service and public relations skills from a company you're doing business with. The whole world will be getting this device before they will, and they couldn't care less.

RAZR sales are abysmal for a reason. Looking at its specs, they shouldn't be abysmal; it's a very solid phone. I can only think that SGN frenzy is a part of that. But they don't care what their customers want.

And I'll never forget that they released the garbage Bionic (knowing it was garbage, according to the Love Tunnel), with the full realization that a million people were going to feel totally screwed over with the RAZR coming out 8 weeks later, and they did it anyway, selling it at the highest price point they could.

They're immoral. I'm sorry if that offends the Verizon lovers in here, but they are. Now, are they the most evil company in the world? No. Do I hate them as much as the Penn State leadership? No. But I still dislike them very, very much, and I don't get why I'm being criticized for that.

I'm not criticizing you or trying to make you feel bad, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion. I just don't get the hate. Yeah, I've had good experiences with them, but I don't love them. To me, it's just a company that provides a service to me, in which they deliver. I just don't understand how you can give your money to a company that you hate and consider immoral, that's all. If I had as much hate for something as you do for them, I'd boycott them.

I'll drop the topic now as not to get anyone more riled up.

I would like to thank Everyone on androidforums.com for putting up with me for just over the past 2 years I have finally reached 600 post! (501 of the post were of useless info and fun :D) It has been a great way to spend my time waiting/looking for new phones, updates, and applications.
Mod note - definitely NSFW or younger viewers.

Here is to more fun times with everyone!

Not to long ago, the speculation was Verizon won't market the GNex and it will be a poor seller. Now, the speculation is that everyone knows about the GNex, it's hurting RAZR sales, and Big Red is holding it back to improve them. Honestly, I don't buy either theory, and the truth is somewhere in between.

I think people need to take a step back and take a deep breath. The GNex will be here soon. All three new phones are great choices, with some features that specifically appeal to some individuals. As I said before, phone sales are a drop in the bucket compared to contracts.

OK, so here's a couple of questions for Han and the other Verizon haters.
1. If you hate Verizon and the "a-holes" so much, why not order a phone from overseas tomorrow and activate it on AT&T?

Agreed

I may be alone here but the only thing I have against Verizon is the device delays.

Anytime I have had a customer service issue they have bent over backwards to take care of it.
I took a heavy blow in my life's circumstances a while back that had me on the phone a bunch and I went $1580.00 over in a month. I called them and told them about it an they removed 50% of the bill and said please be careful in the future, and if you need to upgrade you plan to more minutes just call.
I got a Dinc2 several months ago and they took it back and even took care of the shipping with no change to my plan or upgrade status.
I am never on hold over a minute. I dunno, just lucky I guess.
The have the strongest network period.

They all have bloat ware.
They all are for the moist part within $20.00 of each other.
They all charge money.

Different phones?
I went from AT&T because of the coverage.

I love Verizon for letting the GN come into is line up.

No trips to any verizon stores or any other sort of inside info here.. but over the past couple of days based upon questions I'm getting asked about 'that new nexus phone' from my employees I'm starting to wonder if the delays are that Samsung, Google and Verizon might have underestimated the demand for the phone and are scrambling to have ample supply at release.

I'd be willing to bet they based the possible sales of the phone on the previous nexus releases, which did not sell too well. But this phone seems to me to be turning into something like the iPhone. Non-tech geeks are hearing about it and thinking about getting it. Heck, my sister who has an aversion to tech in general wants one (for reference, she still has her original razr phone.. which she protested vigorously having to get years ago and has sent exactly one text on it.. by accident). After the debacle that was the Incredible release, I'm sure Verizon wants to make sure they don't repeat that mistake. No more delays due to supply issues.

Could be wrong of course, Verizon definitely doesn't think the same way most businesses do when it comes to things. They are like Apple, they want as much control as possible.

Regardless, might be those of us thinking we'd have to experience beaming vicariously through vids and forum stories won't have to look too far for someone to beam due to the seeming widespread interest in the phone.

I'm in the same boat and was initially waiting for the GNEX for months coming from Sprint, but purchased the RAZR last week with the intention of taking it back for the GNEX, but after using it for almost a week, I really love this phone! ICS will be coming in Jan 12, so that's a push. GNEX would have to have the best ever display / camera to make me even think of switching..but you never know until it gets released.

Yep exactly. The form factor of the RAZR is outstanding...yes I want Pure Google and timely updates but...this phone really is remarkable and way better than I ever gave it credit for.

However, I still anticipate the Nexus!

Ew.
:p

LOL. I told mine I was going to get 2 Nexus' for us, she said no  Is perferctly happy with her non-rooted Thunderbolt.

I asked mine if she wanted one since we both have NE2 discounts. She said she'd be happy sticking with her OG. I offered her my D2 but she didn't want that either b/c it's been having internet connectivity problems.

Actually my D2 is @ Motorola for power button repairs, stuck with a friends BlackBerry, ugh! I so need the Nexus now.

I also had very bad customer service from VZW last Friday when I went in to get my D2 looked at. The rep started arguing with me because I suggested that it might be a good idea to work with the manufacturer on warranties for phones they carry regardless if it was purchased new or not. I guess that branch doesn't really care about customer service. Oh well when the GNex comes I'll get it from another location.

I asked another rep about the GNex of course he didn't know when it was coming either. He was complaining about being blindsided by no iPhone 5.

I don't think that is such a good idea. So you are going to make a bunch of lower level employees sift through the bomb. Those are hardworking people just trying to do thier job.

Well their job is exactly just that... sifting through the data. I'm not saying it's the best option or will get good results, but it's certainly out there

Mind posting source code? Or maybe PMing?

Thanks -- just love to see other's code!
