Agreed, would love a video link if you have one. I love metal bands with female vocalists.

Posted above! Enjoy! They're a local band - she and I went to high school together. They actually do all kinds of music - she's FEARLESS.

Personally, I wouldn't let them transfer anything, I'd take care of it myself. Depending on your comfort level.

What are you worried about them transferring?

-contacts? if you have set them up in google they'll transfer automagically when you log into the new phone :) (if you don't its WORTH the time to transfer them into google)

- apps? Because of going to ICS I personally plan on doing it the "old" fashioned way and making a list and doing a "fresh" install.

- app data? this one can be tricky, I plan on using titanium back-up for any data (like angry birds) but in general I plan on using it a oppertunity to "clean house" a little bit :)

- phone data? for call history I plan on letting it go bye-bye, for SMS messages I'll probably down load a SMS back-up program from the market

- other stuff photos etc. I'll transfer onto a folder on my computer and decide what I want to "move" to the new phone...

All of my contacts are backed up with my gmail account and I could care less about most of my app data and what not, it'll give me an excuse to go back and play through all the angry birds levels on the big beautiful hd screen, and with the rest I want to do the same, clean everything up and what not.

I just wanted to know if you guys have done it before with your rooted phone and if you had any problems with not allowing them to set it up?

Check out Verizons website after you log in I think there might be a "transfer upgrade" option in there, I saw it when looking around the other day but didn't look in to it since I don't need to.

I used it just 2 weeks ago when I got my Husband the Dinc2 fo ran anniversary gift (he wouldn't be able to handle the Galaxy ). It's easy, no strings.

i don't necessarily doubt that, but i also noticed that in those specs it specifies which specs are from the LTE model next to each spec such as the size and weight. So i'm assuming dimensions are showing for the LTE(verizon) model but that the rest of the specs could relate to future carriers as well which i'm assuming is why they say 16/32GB. I don't mind either way, i think 16GB is plenty and if the price difference is significant than i may just get the 16GB version.

Yeah as a college student, and as somebody who is perfectly happy to stream music instead of have it all on their phone I actually hope they have both versions so I can pick up the 16gb one for less than $300.

Depends on the CSR you hit, for if they pester you or not. If I don't do "online" I'll just politely decline and not let them touch my phone. :)

So you'll go in, tell them you want the gnex still in the box and will set up everything yourself? They won't argue or try and set it up for you or anything?

yes, i always do that. but you are right, it's a little bit of a fight. they can't understand why i don't want them doing it.

but you see what they do. they throw it on their table and slide it around like it's a piece of wood or something. the snap the batt cover on without lining it up. I go out to my car and then call Verizon. Just like you have to do when you buy it and receive it from an "on-line" order.

but you can have them do it. don't listen to me. I just said that because it is funny how many posts i saw about people wanting them not to touch it. Plus i was bored with F5 and figured i would reply...HaHa

They can complain all they want but you don't have to let them handle your phone. You can activate your phone yourself just like you would if you had purchased it online - away from their grubby little hands.

Since my eris died today :( I'm kind of hoping that we don't have to wait that long.

Although the way this thread has been moving we might be able to do it by Sunday. :D

Hey fellow Idahoan! You're the first I've seen in this thread. There were a few of us in the Dinc thread. North or South?
