wait why won't swype be available on the GNex if you are a beta subscriber?
I know you know, but for others - this is something you'd install yourself if you were in the beta program.
Just wondering how long the delay will be before the software runs on Ice Cream Sandwich. For all we know it will be ready to go on or before release day.
^This. I don't know about you guys, but some of my app updates are already saying that they're just updates to be ICS ready and compliant.

Possibly Important HD Tip -
OK - bookmark this post - if I'm right, you want to know about this...

Here's a good tip.
Some of your apps may display as if they are on a smaller screen - in other words, the app is fine, but you'll see a border around it.
And - there's a fix that seems to work really well on HTC phones (I've used it a few times myself).
Go for Spare Parts +, free in the Market (and if you're up a buck, donate via the paid app - it doesn't get you anything extra, but this just gives back to this dev who really shows the love for us users (and before you ask, I don't know him or anything)).
Find and uncheck "Compatibility Mode" and reboot your phone (not fast-reboot if the Rezound has that option).
Didn't cover all my cases, but certainly nailed the vast majority.
It's just flipping a hidden Android switch and does nothing bad to your phone.![]()
Great tip. Is it's a resolution setting? I'll have to see it in action for myself I think. Would be nice if it doesn't pixelate while blowing up the screen, but I'm thinking it just stretches it to a full screen mode correct?
If the dev has relative scaling in the app, it just scales to your screen size - no pixelating. If he hard coded all the screen stuff, it has no effect and you will still get the black border.
That's how I understand it, hence the name - turn off compatibility mode for screen resolutions the dev couldn't anticipate.
It's not a zoom or magnify.
It's way cool. I have used it to progress to 800x480 last year and then qHD this year.

That's from a Rezound post - but I know this app to work with any brand - it's just an Android goodie that's a must-have.
Might or might not work with ICS - but I betcha it will, compatibility mode has been in Android for some time.
