Please excuse my newbish-ness, but I'm coming from a feature phone and not having to worry about data usage. My question is if I were to use say, Google Music to stream music from my account, does that take up data? Thanks.

I would say yes most likely, unless you are on WiFi.

Definitely. Using your Google phone to stream Google Music will use data.

Yes that uses data as the song is bits of data you are pulling from Google's servers.

Popped in to my local VZW store today (before checking in here).

I asked the manager when the GNex was coming in, and he gave me a wink and said in a low whisper, "Come back tomorrow." Obviously he hasn't seen the latest from androidforums :D Or maybe he's got a demo unit coming in.

I proceeded to start playing around with the RAZR and Rezound. The Rezound is a really nice phone. It took a lot of will power to not buy it right there. Super responsive, great screen. Not a fan of Moto Blur on the RAZR.

While I was playing, one of the reps was helping a couple pick out a phone. The guy asked about the GNex. The rep said it wouldn't be out until December. (Obviously another non-reader). He then proceeded to tell the couple not to waste their time waiting for the GNex because ICS was no big deal and Samsung devices are all junk. He managed to talk the couple into buying the RAZR.

It really made me angry that the rep would spew so much garbage just to make a RAZR sale. I almost said something, but decided to just walk out.

Oh well. I think I'll stop buy tomorrow to see if they have a GNex demo.

I almost punched my screen. That made me so angry
...
Anywayyyy...

I'm gonna stop by the Verizon store tomorrow or Saturday (I mean it this time :D) and try my luck and maybe take a peek at the rezound :o
The reps at my store are pretty nice, I've noticed, so it can't hurt to try.

Seems like now that G+ is around, it might not be native. However, in previous OS versions there was integration with both Twitter and FB. Which I love and would still prefer because almost everyone I know is on FB but hardly anyone is on G+ yet -- in addition to having multiple google accounts and only one FB (because i can change name on it, email, etc) it helps streamline my contacts and their photos somewhat. I'm hoping that there is the ability to link accounts - I can't remember if you could that manually on the OG but it's come in very hand on my Charge.

after that whole deal with google not allowing facebook access to use gmail in the "find friends" tool on facebook, they had a falling out and wont be natively integrated

Oh I LOVE sticking my nose in when I hear those conversations. I make sure the customer KNOWS the real deal. Normally the sale person will walk off when they see they lost their customer to another customer :D

I do that too!!! Not just phones. If the salesperson is being a bit baggy then I politely ask a question that will completely throw them off then start talking to the other customer. I was asked to leave a craft store once. (I know it's different than a phone but the manager didn't like being told he was wrong)

Through some SD card scavenging I found that for some songs it downloads the entire song once for playback and then stores it as a temporary, lower quality audio file (or perhaps those are the files that I enabled for offline availability). But yes it does use data. Grandfathered into unlimited FTW! :)

Hello everybody, I thought I'd come out of the lurk-closet to pass along a little information that I heard today. As with all these other posts, take this with 77 grains of salt. My daughter was making a Chipotle run, and since the Verizon store is right across the street, I asked her to wander in and see if anybody was talking. She was casually checking out Razrs and fruit phones, so naturally one of the associates walked up to her, all ready to sell her something. She mentions that she was really interested in a Nexus, and wondered if he knew when they were going on sale. He told her they were expecting them on Saturday, the 19th. She then asked if Verizon would have made some kind of announcement by now, and he stated probably not, with this phone. Not sure what that even means.

Now, I really pondered whether or not my first post should be a "hey, I know something" kind of post, but I figured it was something to chew on, and you guys have been around long enough to know what this information is worth. Fortunately, it appears that we will soon know something concrete.

Thanks to everybody that contributes to this madness, but I believe it will be worth it.

Bring someone with you that you trust - before walking in hand that person your wallet and tell them to NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, HAND IT BACK UNTIL YOU ARE IN THE CAR
i kid. If you want to 'rent' it we won't hold it against you.

Welcome to the madhouse and thanks for your contribution and for having your daughter do the dirty work! That made me laugh.

I mostly do it when it comes to saltwater reef stores but I butt in when ever and where ever I see the need ;)

So out of curiosity, has any useful information ever been leaked via the testman site? We went through this "ZOMG TESTMAN IZ DAON" business back when we waited for the Incredible, and never got anything out of it.

Steven said information has been leaked off the Testman site before so that's why I've been checking periodically.
