***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Unless of course we have misunderstood exactly how the policy works.

Go chat with a CSR and ask them specifically this.

"If I activate a rezound today, can I switch to a Galaxy Nexus on 12/17."

I've asked this question twice now, and both times they said no, it's only 14 days from activation.

I don't understand, It's clearly written in their policy without any tricky wording:

Return Policy - Verizon Wireless

I would still go by what it says on the return policy page. IMO the two people you talked with are the ones that got it wrong.

If you look at the return policy page you will see 2 things. The holiday return policy. Followed by standard terms and conditions (which refers many times to the 14 days.)

What the online rep told me was "By activating the phone, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions" (the 14 day policy)

I believe jdban on here said they offered the same deal last year, and he got a phone for his dad, and they told him it only had 14 days return period. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything. I'm trying to do what I can to prevent people getting stuck with "rental" phones.

Good afternoon, Gnexers!

Well, on my way back from my dental appointment I stopped into a corporate VZW store and asked a nice person there about Nexus - specifically about Monday. She went to the manager, and came back with "there is no firm launch date on Nexus... which is weird because we normally have dates set weeks in advance. But not with this phone."

Soft launch? I'm starting to think this will be Verizon's first truly SILENT launch. Since we're up against a weekend here, you would THINK that stores would have them in house by tomorrow, if it's truly going to launch Monday.

We must be ever-vigilant, because this thing could be released without our even knowing it. Check every day, folks. That's my advice. Every. Day.

After the delay, the Droid Charge's release was silent. Granted there was an original launch date, but after the delay the day wasn't set. they just started to sell it one day. So, not out of the question for a silent launch to happen.

Alrightly -- seems my work day is over so I will go back to lurking tonight! Everyone have a good one! Hopefully we will get even more news tomorrow :)

Problem is if you do that then you might get screwed. I posted about this earlier. They're return policy for the holidays (last year) was lengthened for non-activated phones (given as gifts). If you activate, you have to return-ate in 14 days (well last year anyways). I'd at least call vzw if you are one of those that is planning on a rental purchase just to make sure... better safe then sawry :)

I'm going to get to the bottom of this so we know for sure.

If you can get a CSR to note this on your account it might be worth the risk, but I'd be very wary of trying to return a phone past 14 days of activation. Like i said chat with a rep, and ask this specifically.

"If I buy and activate a Razr/Rezound today, will I be able to exchange for a different model phone on 12/17"

The thing is that their policy says nothing about activated phones ;)

I'll try to give someone a call later and get a for sure answer.

Ok.. I lol'd. Being a Christian, I shouldn't have, but I did. :p

Now, that made me LOL.
Last I checked you were allowed to know about sex and still be a Christian :p

Really? I have been in here pretty much all day long and didn't see any bashing going on.

there was some bickering of a sorts this morning.

I got extremely excited by reading this for some reason. The thought of my local Verizon store having them in-store on Friday will make me extremely happy (I frequent the store and am very friendly with all of the employees; they could get me the phone earlier than they're allowed to sell it!)

Sounds good, let us know what they tell you. I would encourage anyone trying this to make sure if they are on day 12 or 13 that they can exchange past 14 days.

So much negativity and bashing today.:(

Some people just don't get it until you ban them.

Really? I have been in here pretty much all day long and didn't see any bashing going on.

Yeah a little bickering happened, he makes it sound like a lot of fighting happened.

It did.

Not seen because we have been cleaning and deleting posts and giving the typical infractions.

Remember - it's a big thread everyone -

As OTD says, if you see someone out of line, don't retort, just Report.

There's no need for negativity.

Cheers, thanks gang! :);)

So I am just about to leave work....again but had a brain storm
yes, it hurt a little
but I love the movie Lilo & Stitch and I think Stitch sums it up about this thread:

This is my family. I found it, all on my own. Is little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good.

Steven in the role of Stitch saying this.
