Biased much? They say one bad thing about your baby and they are untrustable? I'm guessing the phone does feel flimsy and lets be honest..the design is not revolutionary. It looks fine, but its been done

Uhh not biased, but thanks for the stereotypical response!

One bad thing? Try many bad things that no other sites review has even mentioned.

Design not revolutionary/has been done before....I only know of one other Android phone with a contoured display, and it is already a year old. Try finding me another one. In fact, try finding me one with no buttons, capacitive or otherwise, and the contour display. I'll wait. While your definition of "revolutionary" might be different than mine and many others, you can't really say this looks like any other Android phone or iPhone on the market besides the Nexus S, which like I said, is already a year old.

Filmsy vs nonflimsy....I would GLADLY take a lighter device made of hardened plastic over a heavier, glass-encompassing device. The latter might feel very nice and "premium" in your hand, but the second it gets caught on your pants pocket or you get a case of the butter fingers, bye bye glass, hello having to pay the Apple Store a decent amount of money for it to be replaced.

CNET has a very big Apple bias and I was just pointing that out. No need to get all trolly on me bro. And if you don't want the device, A. why are you here? and B. Don't get it. More for me and my friends in this thread. Yay! Everyone wins!

100% agreed. I love everything about Galaxy Nexus and I don't even have it yet :)

Edit: and I'm sure we all do!

Guys, I took a look in the mirror and realized the ups and downs of this thread may have taken more of a toll on me than I realized. You guys would be honest with me right?

yea, i get that. but we are getting reports that "store managers and 3rd party retailers" have been told this and that, and are telling this to people on this forum and beyond, yet nothing solid that gives them any credibility. just find it hard to believe with all the hype, if it was in fact the case that it was coming monday with preorder tomorrow(or not), that nothing physical and concrete has shown up to help corroborate their reports

There hasn't been anything solid on either side of the fence so we've been going off our hope and sources posted here. I understand what you're saying.

Crazy I am im frederick too. The 3rd party by the mall didnt have rezound yesterday and the 3rd party by movie theatre got some in yesterday.

Corporate store off 40 had live working rezound which is where i bought mine.. I'd go corporate off 40.

Nice.. hi, fellow Marylander! It was the third party store by the mall who supposedly got the email about the 28th. They had a pretty sad selection of phones, but radiated confidence for whatever reason.

I have to admit that I visited the corporate store on the Golden Mile as well, and was turned away at the door. "We don't know anything!"

Another lurker coming out. I've been following this thread for a bit now...

I'm super excited to finally be getting my first smart phone!!! Currently I use an old sony-ericsson k850i cany bar phone. It's an awesome phone and obviously had it for years. Luckily since I bought the phone on ebay before they sold it in the US I don't have a contract with ATT anymore and can switch to verizon.

I've always had the coolest phone out there but refused to get a smart phone and another addiction. Here's my rant, their is a conspiracy between the phone manufacturers and service providers. They don't make good reliable candybar phones anymore forcing people to buy the expensive smart phones and huge monthly bills. Anyways, I didn't want to be like everyone else and get an iphone so I almost picked up a RZR while I was at the store but for some reason I decided to hold off. BTW- the rzr was a really nice phone and fit easily in my pocket. At the store they told me about the special for 2gb data +2gb free, is that going to apply to this phone as well? Hopefully i'll have a nexus in my hands on monday so my dad can stop saying he has a better phone than me (droid inc).

Apple has been known to have an Apple bias. For the past few years+ (3 or so? I do not know when it began to really show). This is a fact well known to the tech world.

Yes both 3rd party retailed told me the 28th.

Golden mile store the rep smiled and said soon.

Would Verizon pull back my upgrade date if I asked nicely? My contract ends on December 3rd and I really want to order Galaxy Nexus as soon as it's out :(

They will usually let you upgrade 7 days early anyway. That puts you at November 26. You can try begging for another 5 days, and they may relent, if you're polite.

My opinion of Verizon customer care has taken a dramatic reversal in the last day or two. :)

Kingston HyperX SSD (sooooooooo fast)
1TB RAID0 Array for media and other stuff.

Kingston SSD (agreed..so fast)
1Tb Raid0 array for media

I hope you guys keep up with your backups -- RAID0 is a total waste just for media storage (music and video won't play any faster with a faster drive), and you double the chance of losing ALL of your data from drive failure. O/S on the SSD is a big win though.

Whaa? Are you okay?

And I'm sure they've got free wifi in the hospital! Or at least a phone?

Long story but im fine. I have my DX to go off of but the battery is running low and for some reason I keep dropping in and out of signal. Even wifi.

They wont let me leave but im about to check myself on outta here

Just make sure that you call customer support and don't try to get them to do it at the Verizon store.

They can't really help you in the store and, at best, will just make you call the Customer Support to see if they will move up your update date.

Less than half an hour until midnight EST, which means we could see something happen... or not. It will likely be in the early morning (as Cincy said, a 7 am meeting).
