Galaxy Nexus review roundup, LTE release date confirmed - Computerworld Blogs

Repost, I Know

we wrote this off as everywhere in UK earlier, but after the verge posting, i went back and looked.

Vlad Savov has more on that all-important N. American release date:
Google's big, bold, and beautiful new Android phone is today being released in the UK.
...
[T]he LTE-equipped variety should be making its way stateside right about now. ... Google tells us the Galaxy Nexus will be available "pretty much everywhere" from Monday, November 21st.

I do think they're referring to the LTE version. This could be good

So at 9:15am (est) I'll have to call VZW :/ I sent them a e-mail about bumping up my "upgrade date" and they said they'd reply in 24 hours. Well either their pushing the 24 hrs, or they forgot about me :(

No PR yet today. Watching the below 2 links like a hawk since those will be the first 2 PR.

I have been exploring the Ice Cream Sandwich Site and finally read to the bottom of the page.

Wifi Direct and Bluetooth HDP are big deals.

"Wi-Fi Direct and Bluetooth HDP

Support for Wi-Fi Direct lets you connect directly to nearby peer devices over Wi-Fi, for more reliable, higher-speed communication. No internet connection or tethering is needed. Through third-party apps, you can connect to compatible devices to take advantage of new features such as instant sharing of files, photos, or other media; streaming video or audio from another device; or connecting to compatible printers or other devices.
Android 4.0 also introduces built-in support for connecting to Bluetooth Health Device Profile (HDP) devices. With support from third-party apps, you can connect to wireless medical devices and sensors in hospitals, fitness centers, homes, and elsewhere."

Awesome.

I will miss this thread. I will also be grateful when it ends. I have been serving it rather than it serving me. It's like when my DVR is almost filled I feel compelled to watch a bunch of stuff I don't feel like watching. Like forcing yourself to eat the last bit of turkey you're sick of because it seems wrong to throw it out.

Verizon has forced me here. If there was solid info, I could coast and take action when appropriate. Instead I have to keep coming back here to ensure I didn't miss the announcement.

I need to kick this addiction. I'll start on Monday. Or maybe Tuesday. OK, ok, end of year. ;)

I'm sure they have plenty of emails to sift through and answer over the past couple days. Though, vz, for me, has a pretty good track record when it comes to customer service. Let us know if they make the 24 hrs.

I don't know if this is anything....but I work at BestBuy (in BestBuy Mobile) and we have a big ole box that my manager won't let me open. It doesn't say Samsung, Google, nothing. He's saying he doesn't know what it is either, but it has our typical bestbuy do not open until 11/21 wrapper on it.

Dang now that would be hard!! Thanks for the info could be an ICS surprise

If the Gnex is going to be released on 11/21, the stores should get their stock in today right?

PS.Sorry I had Jenny mixed up with Jessie. DOH! :o:o:o

Or this weekend yes. Can't imagine it arriving Monday morning early, but I guess it's a possibility

As someone who works in the IT medical field, this scares the heck out of me :/

I've been following the forum for a week or so now - thought I'd chime in. I don't know if way off base here, but the Samsung GN site seems to be under construction. Might be something...or maybe it's just the mobile version (haven't checked the Samsung site on my touchpad before)

(Can't post link yet)

Regardless, I'm looking forward to upgrading from my iPhone 3GS next week.
