Just consider how bad this makes the Android experience look to the apple fanboys. I wish Google had the power to just tell VZW they had to release the phone already. Sure does not build confidence in the Android experience, which Google is trying to make more "people centric".

Seriously? I'm glad you are assured of some SGN love, but you will lose out on LTE, and we're not sure that this isn't going to drop for Verizon on Monday.

It seems like a knee-jerk reaction to me, and I hope you don't regret it later.

It's not coming out in December,matias already said that. So I'm throwing out all those rumors. The rumors we have left are for 11/21 & 11/28. All I'm saying is ill be ordering my gnex before black Friday.

I wish you were right, but Matias works for Google, not Verizon. I have a feeling there is major bad vibes flowing between the two companies (if BMX tweet is any indication), and I wouldn't even be surprised if Verizon is taking a financial penalty by delaying the phone further, which they have deemed worthwhile as the money they will make from additional sales of RAZRs and Rezounds will more than make up for it. And I will be shocked if we ever see a Nexus on Verizon again.
 
good grief!!! I was so waiting for this and hoping it would be available Monday. I'm on the now poopy OG DROID...but I got an extra $40 from a sale today...Is anyone else planning on just grabbing the rezound until the Gnex is released???

I thought he works at Best Buy. No?:rolleyes: And remember Monday is a big week for sales with Thanksgiving and Black Friday and all. It makes sense that most stores will be putting up special promotional materials next week.
The GNex doesn't need promotion. Look at all the free advertising they are getting through these forums!:) I still intend to believe the 21st!:D

When I get the phone it'll be monday or tuesday, so if the Verizon one is announced by then, then I can just resale the ebay one to get my money back.

If no verizon one on monday or tuesday, I'm calling to close my verizon account.
 
kinda off topic. well its about the Gnex. but nothing to do with release dates*
i have watched a few review vids on the Gnex and noticed that there are 2 different keyboards. i really like the keyboard shown in the Verge Review.
but then i have seen a keyboard that looks identical to gingerbread. idk which one is final build?! :/

I just bought an SGSII from T-Mobile. $530 outright. They have an online plan $30 for unlimited data (throttled after 5gb), and 100 minutes.

Fits me perfectly. Verizon has 30 days to win me back, as that's the return period.

Edit: The $30 plan is only month to month contract, so you either have to own or buy your phone full price.

Sorry about the migraine. Darling Bride gets them chronically. They SUCK.

Delays are second nature to us at this point. We should be numb to them. Like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown, we keep running for it and Verizon keeps snatching it away at the last instant, leaving us flat on our @$$es.

I'm done clearing the calendar. We KNOW what's going to happen at the last instant. If 12/8 is the new date, then I'm not clearing my calendar for that date either. Something ELSE will come up and snatch it away, setting it back another week or two.

Call me nihilistic, but Deadlines and Launch Dates simply don't work with this phone. They haven't and won't, sad to say.

When Nexus DOES come out, I think it will come like a bolt from the blue... a complete shock to us all.

And there will be much rejoicing...
 
We did have a Best Buy employee here earlier today say there is an "assumed" big box in the back room that says he can't open until the 21st!

I don't believe these rumors, but I accept them if they're true... it's sad how much verizon gives.
 
Holding the phone back because the my Verizon app isn't working? If I understand what I read and that's one of the reasons that is insane!!!

I can't remember which phone I had, I think it was the Thunder Butt, it didn't even come with that app out of the box.

I do not go over 2gb a month in data since I run a lot on wifi. That being said if this device doesn't come out on the 21st I am ordering an unlocked version online and going to AT&T.

There is no need for "cool story bro" or any other such remark. I am stating the plain truth.IMHO. Verizon really botched this launch.

Excellent point...Kind of defeats the purpose of the nexus entirely, no? Guess I will have to put my trust in CM9 if this ends up being the case.

I'm still shocked Verizon convinced Google to allow their software on the phone. :(

I just got off the phone with someone who works a little higher up on the totem pole than I do. S/he said that the release date is now more "flexible" than it was because of issues coming up during testing.

S/he's a good friend, and throughout the conversation I got the impression that the "testing issues" was the company line, and that the real reason has more to do with corporate strategy than anything else.

I don't know what else to say. I wish I had better news. Next week is definitely not out of the question. But it is very "subject to change" right now.

On several reviews they have said the keyboard is "new", so I would guess it is the one on the Verge. Of course I don't know for sure though

...BUT Panda also said that it's "subject to change" in the same tweet. and, it looks like things may just have changed (at least in VZW's little mind) within the last day.
