Seriously? I'm glad you are assured of some SGN love, but you will lose out on LTE, and we're not sure that this isn't going to drop for Verizon on Monday.

It seems like a knee-jerk reaction to me, and I hope you don't regret it later.

I agree it does seem rather rash, but people have to do what they feel is best.

However, weren't you contimplating the very same thing? :D

I'm depressed.

And I'm even more depressed that I allowed myself to get depressed over a phone in the first place.

I'm just gonna go watch the Verge review video again... for the 100th time...

I saw this outside of the building where Verizon held the Google meeting to hash out their "exclusive" plan.....;)

Trust me guys, if the delay is true (maybe it is, maybe it isn't), it has nothing to do with software issues. These could be fixed with an OTA update, and we know Verizon's totally willing to do this.

It's all about Razr sales. When I went to the Verizon store yesterday, I heard the rep complaining that he had to hype up the Razr even though he thought the Rezound was a better device. Verizon wants to sell as many Razrs as possible, for whatever reason.

C'mon guys, let's keep our heads up. An earlier than Dec. 8 w/o release is still possible. Dec. 8 could just mean in stores or even just in non-primary stores.

Whoa! Everyone needs to calm down. The phone exists and it will come. I understand that many of you have phones that are close to their EOL, but there is no reason to jump off buildings. We've had this happen a couple of times, it sucks, but not every net rumor is true. We are were we have always been and know what we have always known. The phone will come this year. Most of us will get the phone when it launches and, from what I've seen, we will all be very happy people.

I know we are on this crazy post rush, but everyone take a step back and relax for a minute or two. Talk with your family or a friend. Get the phone out of your mind for a couple of minutes and you will realize that this date or any other date is not the end of the world.

The Nexus is coming. Not even Verizon can stop that at this point. It will come and it IS awesome.

cant do it, i CANT CALM DOWN!!.. Im using my LG Dare.. I had an iphone 4 with att and cancel to get a Samsung CHARGE( ended up returining it). I feel Im in my hell and its starting to freeze in here.
My bad, let me go turn down thermostat!

It will be an OTA fix... if there even is a real issue with the bloatware. This is not about the device having problems. This is about RAZR's... period.

I agree, VZW is in bed with MOTO, and the RAZR isnt selling. Moto probably is on there knees asking for more time to sell 10 or 20 more phones......We know the new phone is coming but the other uninformed public is getting pushed to the razar. I just had a friend (old couple, not tech savy) got pushed into a droid X, all while the Thunderbold and other 4g's were availible. They do that crap all the time.

I agree 100% how could stores be receiving inventory well before launch if there were issues.

kinda off topic. well its about the Gnex. but nothing to do with release dates*
i have watched a few review vids on the Gnex and noticed that there are 2 different keyboards. i really like the keyboard shown in the Verge Review.
but then i have seen a keyboard that looks identical to gingerbread. idk which one is final build?! :/

On several reviews they have said the keyboard is "new", so I would guess it is the one on the Verge. Of course I don't know for sure though

ICS has multiple keyboard skins to choose from. Apparently they're pretty much different degrees of gray.

Just wondering... If Verizon has installed it's own apps on the nexus, does this mean that we won't be able to get updates directly from Google and will have to wait for Verizon to approve any update? (sorry if this has already been covered, but had over 1000 posts waiting for me when I got home).

I saw this being discussed elsewhere and was just curious.

Steven,

I just got off the phone with someone who works a little higher up on the totem pole than I do. S/he said that the release date is now more "flexible" than it was because of issues coming up during testing.

If it's corporate strategy, then I doubt it will be next week as the Droid Incredible 2 is coming out on the 24th.

However, if I don't hear something concrete (from verizon itself) then I most likely will just wait another few weeks to see what CES is coming out with.

S/he's a good friend, and throughout the conversation I got the impression that the "testing issues" was the company line, and that the real reason has more to do with corporate strategy than anything else.

I don't know what else to say. I wish I had better news. Next week is definitely not out of the question. But it is very "subject to change" right now.

So... does the "rent-a-razr/rezound" theory actually help us? If VZW is holding out on us because they want to sell more <insert device here>, if we all go and pick one up, it helps their sales, then, they might actually release the Nexus.

Ugh. My iPhone is working just fine, but, I WANT A NEXUS!

I personally am going to EECB them with a nice respectful note. Regardless if the rumors are true or note, this is unacceptable for any company at this point, problems with the phone or note. They need to know when they are screwing up.

Well, I just got done with a Gtalk with a buddy of mine who's getting one on Monday. How? Because he is using our old Motorola source for early release/engineering phones (and the good old .sbf files) who now works for Sammy. The word from him is Dec 12, maybe earlier.

Well, here I am, stepping out of the darkness into the dawn light of the Nexus. I've been lurking for weeks; and while this is entertaining, I wish I could simply command: "Good Nexus, Come Forth!" -- in a loud voice and make it so.

These VZW guys are about as secretive as the Congressional Super-Committee and probably about as effective. Enough already! Give us what we want, give us what we NEED!!!!

12/8 makes sense for so many reasons. 4+ weeks to sell the RAZR and 3+ weeks for the Rezound... leaving 2 weeks to sell the GN before Christmas. The GN doesn't even need the whole two weeks to sell very quickly and in large volume. The people that won't wait until 12/8 will either buy a RAZR or swtich to a different carrier. Either way, they those same people would have done it anyways. Anyone that truly wants a GN will wait until 12/8. Anyone that rents a RAZR or Rezound is okay for them, too... they will cheaply recondition your rental and give it to someone on an exchange/warranty issue. Makes no difference to them whether they give out new ones or refurbs on the warranties. And they will not give you a firm date on the GN because then you could make an informed decision about the RAZR or Rezound. They much prefer you to "rent" one and then maybe decide that it is already setup and just not worth the effort to return (like several in here have already said).

This is actually really a very smart move (for VZW), if you think about it from their perspective. They make the most amount of money, sell the most amount of currently released phones, and will still sell just as many GN's (before and after Christmas).

Once ATT and Sprint develop their LTE networks, and there really is a 4G choice, then it will be much better for the customer. As for now, you want LTE you have to play by VZW rules which heavily favor the dealer (just like casinos).

I understand your point I personally am getting really sick of Verizon playing games though. Stevens post earlier just shows they can careless about anything but making money.

Rant over.

Not to mention the fact that Verizon has never give a release date. WE, including me, are the ones that have been saying they botched the release, dates have changed, yada...yada...yada. Verizon has never said anything of the kind. Maybe they have had the same date in mind all along. I am going to relax and have a bowl of ice cream. I suggest everyone else does the same. :D
