Good morning Gnexers.... or is it? :o

Looks like the thread is in another manic low... and it will go high again eventually. No one ever said this roller coaster was pulling in to a stop. They said they THOUGHT it was.

There WILL be more highs and lows in this thread as we head toward breaking the record and becoming the #1 most EPIC thread in AF history. Which means:

Another euphoric high is coming! :)

Oh by the way: while you're already depressed, looks like Nexus is having some "issues":

Hoping this is not as widespread as I think it may be...

Sure Chief - just hit us when we're down

The further this drags out...the less I want to sign a new 2 year deal with VZ. My upgrade has been due since June.....uggh.

I think there is a very good chance you will want to buy it. I could not be more impressed with mine so far. I am still concerned about the battery life and am evaluating the phone primarily on that basis.

IMO it's just another Thunderbolt. Sure it has some great specs but I want a device that's sleek, feels good to hold and show off, and is as vanilla Android as possible. I'll pass on Blockbuster and Lets Golf 2, thank you very much.

I don't know about the highs again. For me 16gb doesn't cut it. I often have no signal and can't stream. Those are the times I need my tunes or videos. Also while I'm grandfathered into unlimited data, I don't believe that will last forever making streaming financially unattractive. From a conspiracy standpoint, it almost feels like that's the long range plan. That may be complete bunk but I have lost faith in Verizon acting in good faith.

Isn't the 16GB rumor? Just like everything else we hear every day? Conspiracy theories or not it is what it is. Nothing wrong with jumping ship imo but only of you believe the GN isn't for ya ;)

Wow after French toast with Karo syrup and 2 cups of coffee I can type blazing fast!

Ok guys I'm gonna have to go now but I'll be back online later today... If you do decide on an email to send out, I guess I'll see by the time I get back. If we send enough emails we can truly make an impact :)

If Verizon didn't care about its own customers that's reason enough to leave the carrier entirely. Their new corporate "mission statement" is that their company revolves around the customer, and to be perfectly honest if I'm going to hand over my money for the privilege to use my mobile phone on their network, they better damn well treat me with the respect I deserve. Not saying I'm a king or prince or anything, but it's completely unacceptable for them to treat their consumers like cattle.

When was the last time any one believed in a Corporations Mission Statement? Corporations don't care, and half the time employees couldn't tell you their companies mission statement. Individuals care about customers. Corporations are run by boards that have no contact with their customers and report to shareholders who are interested in one thing- profit.

Companies spend millions of dollars on market research and customer surveys not because they care, but because they want to know how to best exploit that knowledge for profit. Customer service is a person to person interaction. Its delivered by an employee to a customer- not by a company to a customer. On a local level, the customer service provided by my area VZW store is phenomenal. But I have never been happy with VZW's customer care and policies. I'd leave, but in this small community there's no where to go.

Edit: But I agree, they should at least make an effort.

Okay, guys, I "edited" the letter, but now that I look at it, I think I mangled it. I added a few paragraphs that I thought were necessary, reworded others that I thought needed more respect but firmness, etc.

Sorry in advance. I tend to run away with something once I get excited.

To Whom it May Concern:

My name is ******* and I am speaking on behalf of thousands of members of android forums from multiple popular internet sites, as well as countless other Verizon customers and future Galaxy Nexus-owners.

We were very excited to see the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in Hong Kong back in October. We were even more thrilled when it was announced that it would be releasing in the United States in “November”. Given the fact that Verizon Wireless has an exclusive right to release the Galaxy Nexus, it was an obvious reference to the fact that we could expect you to make it available during this current month.

Our excitement has, unfortunately, given way to grave disappointment as we see that you have failed to communicate any information regarding a release, other than a simple announcement that you would be carrying it “later this year”. According to a poll on Droid-Life.com (Monday Poll: Now That All Three Have Been Announced – Galaxy Nexus, Rezound, or RAZR? – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog), over 10,000 customers are eagerly anticipating the Galaxy Nexus (71%) but have received no further indication from Verizon to give them reason to do so.

According to many of our sources (some of which are employed by Verizon and Google), the Motorola DROID RAZR and HTC Rezound are not selling as well as previously hoped, even with the implementation of a “Double Data” program. Those countless individuals among us who are waiting for the Galaxy Nexus feel that we are unfairly being withheld a release date in order for Verizon to sell more of these other devices (this is according to our sources within your company). There are also rumors that the principal reason you are withholding a release date is so that you can work out certain technical difficulties with your own Verizon-branded applications, which we feel smacks of corporate arrogance.

A troubling fact is that we have confirmed that many of us are seriously contemplating simply buying a RAZR or a Rezound with the full intention of returning it once the Galaxy Nexus is made available. Most of us have refrained from acting out on those thoughts out of respect for Verizon, but that respect is rapidly dwindling in the face of your lack of communication. “Renting” those devices, as we refer to it, would only incur additional costs for your company and the loss of the ability to sell those refurbished devices as “new”.

Another reason we feel that your lack of communication is ultimately hurting your company is because many Verizon customers are very seriously considering leaving the carrier (or already have) for another, more open carrier such as AT&T (whose LTE service is spreading out in ever more greater areas). As much as I, and plenty of others, love Verizon, we are growing extremely frustrated with being kept out of the loop on even a simple announcement of a release date, especially when we see so many other areas of the world (UK, Canada, Asia, etc.) get either an announcement of a pre-order date, or the device itself.

Given the above, I respectfully but firmly demand that we receive a confirmed release date from Verizon, so as to relieve the extreme stress in the community. Our stress levels have garnered internet blog attention, along with all of the advertising potential that entails, but it will certainly soon grow into a hotbed of rants and negative comments, which will ultimately reflect poorly on your company’s lack of communication.

Please give us some information.

You have until 5pm on Monday, November 21, 2011 to give us a release date. If you fail to comply with this request, I can promise you that you will witness the implementation of our “rental program” regarding your other devices, and you will witness our tremendous push for our members to leave Verizon in droves.

We’ve had enough. The ball is in your court.

Thank you for your attention and time.

Sincerely,

***************
Whichever way you guys want to word the letter, let me know and I can provide the addresses. I don't know how, since last time I did it they were deleted, but let me know and I'll figure it out.

As it looks now, the original Droid, XOOM, and any iteration of iDevices are going to be the only devices on Verizon, ever, free of Verizon's crapware.

It is really sad...we hear Verizon is getting the next Nexus device, the Galaxy Nexus is announced and it looks fantastic, and then Verizon screws it all up with ther crapware (they are probably making Google lock it down like every other Verizon Android phone).

Verizon's Corporate greed knows no end.

I kind of agree and get what ignatius is saying. The biggest reason for getting the sgn for those that want it is the pure google experience. That is the main point verizon is missing and should be stressed. This happens to be the one phone that can offer that option for those who want it. They should be aware how disturbing it would be if its true delays are due to verizon add-ons that the people who actually desire this phone frown upon anyways. The more they taint that google experience the worse sales for that particular device will be, and instead of drawing new customers in from elseware... which seems like the direction it was going, they are getting scared away and current customers are ready to jump ship. The company with the greatest network range, should also have the greatest range of options. It only makes sense

STOP!
The "crapware" is TWO MEASLY APPS! And they're actually somewhat useful! You can disable them if you REALLY can't stand them...
Jeez this whole bloatware argument is really pissing me off, be glad they didn't put Blockbuster or Lets Golf 2 on it >_>
