***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I am so very upset with Verizon. I wish they had just passed on this phone too like they do all the other good phones so I could switch to a carrier that wants my business.

My parting thought for now

I would strongly encourage the threat at the end of the letter be omitted. This is not an occupy movement- this should be a formal and respectful inquiry.

A more fitting summation would in my opinion be something along these lines:

"We, your loyal and paying customers (some of which being long-standing subscribers), passionately request some formal announcement on the aforementioned matter in an immediate and honest manner so we may continue to proudly claim to others that we are loyal and satisfied customers of Verizon Wireless."

I also stand by my statement regarding VZW's lack of carrying a Pure Google Experience device. When these VZW folks read this letter they wont be looking for answers. They will be asking questions. This is how good customer service is handled (not knowing if VZW is capable of this of course). They will be asking what the authors of this letter want. They will be asking why we're frustrated. They will ask what they have done to result in this customer outcry. And they will ask how they can best manage the situation.

What do we want?- Right now, if you look a this letter it looks like we just want a phone. And want it now. But if you ask anyone here, its much more than that. Its more specific than that. We should be making clear that what we want is what VZW is not currently offering. As I said in an earlier post this morning; VZW's thought on this manner may easily be "we offer a wide variety of high end android powered smartphones. We offer the greatest variety of smartphone choices. So you should look into our other great offerings". They are currently the only carrier without the pure experience. They should know this if they don't already.

Why are we frustrated?/What has VZW done to cause this?- Lack of transparency. Sorry to say, this is just how business is dealt. Though I agree with how Han handled this in his version of the letter.

How can they manage this situation?- A timely and honest public announcement, regardless of the details. Carriers throughout the world have managed to do this without fail. At the very least, officially acknowledge our pleas- send out emails to those who signed up saying something/anything about the "delay" or the impending release. At best, open up pre-orders immediately and possibly set a tentative launch date-publicly (its been over a month since VZW has communicated with the public. They need to do something.)

Sorry for the long-winded post guys. But I wanted to get it out there.

Well, its college football Saturday. In Nebraska, it might as well be a holy day. I will most likely be out of the loop for a while today. But rest assured, I'll be thinking of our Nexus and of all of you suffering in here ;) Hang in there guys. This is pretty rough, but it is just a phone after all.

Sorry to hear that, buddy. We'll be here in case you need a distraction.

Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia FROYO is the best!!

Chubby Hubby! Nothing else exists for me.

Welp, after a 20 hour day yesterday....I have to head back to work for another TWELVE hours. I hope the board stays entertaining and informative today instead if hostile. Today is my Friday...don't harsh my mellow!

There was another couple that walked in right behind me and I heard them say they were planning to do the same thing. She sold two RAZR's that she knew would be returned. I know the store manager is pissed, but there is nothing he can do. One thing she hinted at though, is that the double data promotion would most likely end before Black Friday, so at least I am grandfathered in there.

Ooh thanks for the heads up! If DD ends on Black Friday we could very well see an announcement this Monday with release on Friday! I suppose I'm just being my hopeful self, but this seems more likely now!

The only problem I foresee with this is that all of these Exec's will be on vacation all next week to some place warm with their 8 figure salaries enjoying beach time. Their underlings, who have 7 figure salaries, will get these and not know what to do with them...

BF into Cyber Monday is usually a big release for them... who knows.

So you want a bug free phone from Verizon eh?

Here's one...............

Has anyone here gotten any clarification from VZW what the double data promo means to unlimited grandfathered customers?

More specifically, if I shift to a 4G plan now while under the double data promo, I should keep my unlimited from my current plan, but when/if that ever gets phased out, will I revert to the current at-that-time cap or the double-data cap level?

I don't remember seeing this asked earlier, so sorry if it was!

That is when I made my decision to Rent-a-RAZR. Honestly, I may return this for a ReZound even if the GNEX doesn't come out soon enough though. While I don't care anything about the overpriced headphones, the dual core processor did make the phone very fast, and the screen is pretty damn good IMO.

So how do you like the Razr so far and why would you swap it for the ReZound? I played with the Razr in the store and it really seemed very nice. I was not wowed by the ReZound's display...a bit washed out compared to the Razr.

She hinted that that Double Data was a ploy to get people in the store before Black Friday though, and that wouldn't be an option ON Black Friday. She was only hinting though, because there wasn't an end date announced and there wasn't an end date in their computer system anywhere either.

Now we're talking. This is not long winded at all and I'm happy (relieved as well) to see it posted.

They shouldn't be able to phase out your current plan if you don't sign a new contract. I knew people on old Alltel plans for years because they got split up between Verzion and AT&T which had higher plans, so people held onto their grandfathered plans far beyond their contract end date.

IIRC if you have unlimited data now you will have it forever... :D

Did you mean to say "They are planning on renting" or "They are planning on returning?"

In either case, I understand your intent and think it's an outstanding point to include in the letter.

Is your intent to have Verizon rethink the policy or push out the nexus past January 15? Can you imagine when the lightbulb goes off after you mention that and have them think, "do we really want 10,000 returned phones?" I know it's what your pushing for, just realize that releasing the nexus isn't the ONLY option there...fwiw.
