I just got off the phone with my friend from Verizon. Even though I normally don't bother him with questions (he hates discussing work) I actually did this time. Now, I am paraphrasing big time here, but this is more or less what he was telling me.
On the subject of 32GB he told me that this is the only version he has ever known about. There was never a discussion about a 16GB option in any meeting he ever attended. He reminded me that that doesn't mean there isn't one, but that all references made to the specs of the device he has talked about or was talked to about had 32GB of memory on board.
On the subject of bloatware and delays he told me that the My Back Up Assistant app is planned to be Verizon's version of iCloud. The latest is supposed to support document and picture backup and not just contacts. He also mentioned future plans of being able to back up almost everything. While he didn't say that he specifically knew of any delays due to software he said that Verizon is determined to have this app on every phone they sell, including future versions of the iPhone. He also stated that he was not aware of any delays at the moment, but did say that there are plenty of stores/employees that have not had any sort of training on the device yet.
No release date info beyond the typical, don't worry it is coming soon that I usually hear.
So that is what I have for you guys today.![]()
Tell him that Verizon doesn't need to concern itself with "cloud services". Google, Apple, and 3rd party companies are more then capable of handling it on their own. Even if it is a way for a money grab.
Oh, and LOL if they think that's going on any iPhone.
