That may be what the numbers show, but my iP4 was on VZW and my iP4s on AT&T. I used them side-by-side for 10 days or so. There wasn't a detectable difference in page loads or email push -- and believe me, I tried to find one.

I don't think you'll notice speeds in push email, but web browsing I am surprised at.

Seems to be quite the speed difference (on AT&T at least) regarding 4 vs 4s, but it may be nothing crazy.

Using 4G on my Dad's Bionic is absolutely insane though -- blows my OG Droid's 3G speed out of the water.

Guys, is it me, or is this all getting a bit anti-climatic?

I have a feeling I'm going to open the Nexus box, turn it on, play with it for a good half hour, and then think:

This is what I've basically given up 3 months of my life for?

I was sorta thinking that too, but once I have the phone in my hands I think I will be overly excited that I won't even think about how long its taken to come out.

Sorry I don't mean to re-ask this question, but If I were to pre-order the gnex at full retail would there need to be a deposit? if so how much?

I have been wondering how many people will end up returning it for one of the R phones :)

Where is the good news when that has NOTHING to do with verizon? You are guessing again, stop it stop it NOW!!!

They said their phones have been quality checked and don't have the problem.

All I'm saying is that there's still hope that the Verizon devices haven't actually shipped to stores yet and that we could see functioning devices being sold sooner than we think!

Can you imagine how pissed the forum members on here would be if Verizon decided to pass on the Galaxy Nexus like they did with the SG2?

I am sure that won't happen but if it did I think my avatar would have to visit a few Verizon stores.

And like the Nexus One that they announced but never got.

Does anyone in here have substantial experience with both the Dinc2 and the new HTC device? Does the new one have substantial better battery life? The Dinc2 is awful in that department.

Please see this thread regarding USB Mass Storage -- on Windows you will not notice a difference between this phone and any other Android phone that came before it.

http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus/447899-usb-mass-storage.html

You will see difficulties with MTP/PTP on OSX/Linux though although there are tons of threads that seem to solve these issues over at XDA and the like.

ahhh, thanks!! i knew we would be able to transfer files, i was just wondering whether it would be more difficult - but you answered my question!

Speak for yourself ;)

with a USB cable?? did it show up as an "external drive" on your PC??

that's strange... the Google people have been saying that mass USB storage wouldn't work, in the traditional sense, because it's all internal memory without any partitions. but, if you are getting it to work like it "normally" does, that is fantastic!!

here's a link to what the Google people had to say about mass USB storage, and why it wouldn't work in the traditional sense with the GNex: Galaxy Nexus Roundup: Only 16GB Showing from Google, No Flash Support, Vodafone Still Testing, and No USB Mass Storage – Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

My understanding is... on a Windows OS, everything will appear normal, on apple or linux OS is where the problem is... :)

In "some" ways its better. On my Dinc when you moved apps to your SD card(to save space) and then connected it to a PC to transfer some files, none of the SDcard apps would work until you were done and "remounted" the card to the phone.

It annoyed me because I kept my phone plugged in all the time at work.

And with that information, I would like to congratulate Han Solo on what I assume is the all time record for number of posts in a single thread. Steven hit a whopping 2,043 posts (or 4.26% of the total) in the DInc thread, whereas Han is currently sitting at 2,335 posts (or 5.4% of the total) here.

On another note, Steven only has 1,139 posts here despite the thread almost breaking the record already. It seems safe to say he doesn't like us nearly as much as the Incredible crowd.

Ninja'd you, but exactly.

People need to travel outside this thread a bit.

I was thinking of putting together a SGN FAQ one day -- anyone interested or want to help or have any ideas? Maybe some ICS stuff too.

Another great point. MTP & PTP allow for transferring of files to/from PC without affecting apps that are on the "SDCard" (partition) of the device.

I've had that thought as well.

Yeah you two really need to get a life :D

Lol. I know. But this is just as entertaining as a lot of other stuff. And we all share our overall love of gadgets.

And if you weren't the multi-quote queen you'd be #1

Funny, I'm in the middle of multi quoting on the app.

Are you not the one that comfirmed that they have already shipped to the store you go to?

The manager got a shipment notification... meaning it could be that this bug was squashed quite a long time ago and they started shipping the new units a few days ago already.

I think the problem is that people are seeing these volume bugs and assuming that Verizon will be screwed, but don't even know when Verizon started shipping the phones in the first place.
