Can someone provide another link to the HTC dev site that unlocks phones? I know Early posted it, and I should have bookmarked it, but I didn't.

Anyone?

I'm also sure that there will be delays and anti-Verizon sentiment at the time.

That's what I'm really hoping for too. Guess we'll have to wait and see if anything happens tonight (after the 4 day websale ends)... :)

If the iphone currently supported LTE and aty least a 4 inch screen I may not be waiting for a Galaxy Nexus. I am a fan of both the iPhone and android devices.

I was speaking with my Verizon guy and I told him exactly that. Apple blew it by not bringing out an iPhone 5 with a bigger screen and LTE.

As much as I love the customization of Android they have yet to produce an OS as smooth as iOS. I hope ICS is that OS.

I'm not a fanboy or a slave to any particular brand or OS. I'll get what works best for me at the time.
 
The only blame we have to put on this whole GNex release fiasco is this link. All anger should be directed towards them not Verizon, Samsung, or Google.

that's strange... the Google people have been saying that mass USB storage wouldn't work, in the traditional sense, because it's all internal memory without any partitions. but, if you are getting it to work like it "normally" does, that is fantastic!!

Yes honestly I don't know how to transfer files any other way.

When plug it in it shows as a phone instead of a drive butI can explore it like any other drive, ive copied 7 gigs of music, some pics, some wallpapers and series of family guy.

So if Verizon has these phones (which I assume they do based on previous texts between Han and his sister) and they're holding onto them until a supposed bug is fixed, are they going to:

A) open each box and fix each phone
B) ship them to stores and have the desk clerk apply an update
C) sell them and have the update pushed to the phones as they activate

Anyone with a source... can you ping your people?

If it's B or C the phones can be sold today.
If it's A we are screwed.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the process that we're going to have to wait on. Essentially I'm trying to draw out some more info on what follows with this testing/bug/fix delay. My thoughts are that an explanation to the drastic delay may ease some very impatient minds. Especially the ones with phones hanging on by a thread.



Note:
I'm aware that the delay is only internal in nature. Please don't prove your stupidity by commenting on my post in relation to that fact.
Though two weeks may not seem like much to you, you are not in my situation. Do not presume to be.

From my understanding of MTP (which is not much) the user shouldn't see any differences on machines that support it, like Windows 7. Mac and Linux and other devices I'm not so sure about.

And I could be wrong on the whole thing.

Have you taken it out of global mode? Try changing it to just CDMA in the settings and see if that helps. It doesn't get the best battery life, like most HTC devices, but this may help.
 
I have been away, so please forgive if this has already been posted.

The LA Times, Galaxy Nexus, Android Ice Cream Sandwich: U.S. launch on Dec. 8? - latimes.com, has posted the Dec. 8th date like so many other sources. Interestingly, they also list the Nexus' price on the Canadian carriers:

"Somewhat frustratingly, the new smartphone is already on sale in the U.K., but not yet in the U.S. In fact, we still haven't even received an official stateside release date or a firm price. We do know that when the phone arrives, it will be available only from Verizon Wireless, running on the carrier's 4G LTE network.

On Monday, the world learned that Canada will get the Galaxy Nexus on Dec. 8, from Bell for $159.95 and Virgin Mobile for $159.99 on the carrier's respective data plans."
