***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

This makes no sense to me no matter who says it or how many times it gets said. Lets say VZW has 1000 customers and 500 of them are going to be buying new phones in the near future. 250 are going to buy a RAZR and 250 plan on buying a Gnex - both @ $299 on new contracts. That's $150K. If only 1 person bought the Gnex and 499 bought the RAZR ... that's still $150K!

I know people think VZW and Moto are BFFs and try to help each other out but this is business. Do you really believe that VZW will go against what's best for itself in order to help out Moto? If you do, then you really don't understand how business works.

IDEA!!!!

Let's all purchase RAZRs to get Verizon's sales looking good. We lull them into thinking the Razr sales are doing well and they release the Galaxy Nexus. Then we unleash a flurry of returns and exchange them for the GNex. The only thing they gain is $35 and a whole bunch of refurbished Razrs.

How about it guys?! Anyone?! Anyone? Guys? Buehler? :(

With the margins on the other phones being better due to the verizon apps this is not a surprise. Sucks though.

Scott - let me take a crack at this one for you. Here to help you out.

Dear Dubbin sir:

I, as stated in my post used a "combination of puzzle pieces" to arrive at my speculation. As you note I used speculation, getting smarter in my old age. My birthday is coming up you know.

Now to just clear the air there are two important things I need to point out.

1) My puzzle pieces are the entire world wide web.
2) I currently have been granted elite puzzle arranger status by my master trainer. I am already to level 4-6 puzzles. Look at the side of any puzzle box and you will note the levels.

Hope this sets you all straight.

Oh ok I understand now :D

Oh boy.

Just got off the phone with my sister.

She says that the "bug reports" are BS. Supposedly it's "corporate crap". I asked her what that means, and she said that they are holding back the release because they want to, not because they have to. She says that dates have been set, only to be pushed back again.

She says that yes, the phone is even now still in testing, but most phones are, up until they release. Supposedly they found some bugs but were able to patch them with OTA updates, and even people within Verizon are getting a little pissy about the release date getting pushed back.

One guy told her they want to "maximize" device sales and that SGN will have a good December.

This sucks donkey nuggets but thank you for sharing.

So just because I relayed what someone said means that I'm an unreliable person? Jeez all I do is tell you guys exactly what I hear and make my own inferences based on it...

don't sweat it kid. i liked reading your good news posts, even if they didn't come through. you wouldn't be the first here to have done something like that.

This is getting ridiculous I'm not entirely surprised that it is "Corporate Crap" but it's still annoying! If they don't release the SGN by mid December I'm going to Sprint and getting the SGSII and I will direct everyone I possibly can away from Verizon.

I don't think the volume bug has definitively been proven to be hardware related, has it?

And that bug wouldn't necessarily affect Verizon's phones because their "Edge" band is different.

Hell, the bug might not even be on AT&T GNs as their Bands are different than overseas ones too.

this is what I suspected after seeing the recent tweets from bmx and verizon being verizon

anyone wanna post more verizon defenses now?

Some one recap on the "rent a razr/rezound". I haven't paid attention to the posts about it. You can go in, get the phone, activate it then return it when the nexus comes out? A friend was asking me about this because they need a phone now and I have them interested in the Nexus.

Let me preface this by saying I'm not trying to jump your case, I just don't want anymore confusion on it.

You only have 14 days from the date of ACTIVATION of the handset to return it. The extended return only applies to "gift" handsets that are not activated.

That being said, if Dec. 8 is the day, it wouldn't be smart to rent a Razr/Rezound now.

Verizon actually loses money from returns... IIRC they have to sell it refurbished for more than $35 less than new. I'm not sure though.

Guys can we please quit the flaming? If you like what someone posts "thank" it. If you don't, be on your merry way to the next post. This is a place for ideas. If someone posts something citing a "source" take it for what it is. If that person's leaks turn out to always be wrong then nature will do the work for you, and eventually people will just stop listening to said person. If the leaks are right nature will act in the appropriate manner. Step back, take a break, and come back soon :) (chimp smile at the left)

Man with all of these push backs I feel like I should have tried to win one of the twitter contests for a free nexus...I would probably have gotten it faster that way!

I could be wrong, but I would guess that they would send you a GSM Nexus, not a CDMA one you could use on Verizon. Its still a free Nexus but I think most people here, including myself, want this phone on Verizon.

All that will do is make them more delusional regarding the ability of the RAZR to be a good device. They'll probably delay the Nexus to January at that point. Give the RAZR more time to sell...

I guess if the ota for the bionic comes out and fixes my phone before the nexus comes out. I may just keep the bionic and not worry with the nexus. If the phone would have released already I would have gotten it.

I don't understand the hate towards the windsock. Sure it was bad news, but he gave us the same news we are hearing now a week ago. He even mentioned that the phone had no bugs and was good to go as is. That it was just corporate bs. So far he has had the most accurate information (assuming that what we are hearing from Hans sister is right). So why the hate? How about we just accept that the windsock might have reliable sources? He somehow get a hold of Verizon leaks for pretty much every phone, so he has to have some sort of source, right?

I guess we're not hating his info so much as his overall personality.

The Love Tunnel doesn't swoop in here and say "Verizon said this and this, and if you all don't like it you can kiss my ass. Morons."

My sister doesn't text me and say "Verizon says this and this. Idiot!"

Oh wait. . . .

Because he's abrasive and because he's not here for people to fawn all over and thank a hundred times.

So on happier topics, when we do get the GNex, what is the first thing you are going to do with it.

Make a phone call, browse web, pictures, use it to iron your wrinkely shirt after waiting in front of the store for 3 days?
I plan to first install all my old app and settings. After that? Use the NFC to scan my credit card and PATH SmartLink card to see what infomation is on the rfid tags.

As soon as I say I am bored, THIS happens. Thanks for the update though HAN.
