***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

I'm curious how many posts this thread have when this phone is released, being it's almost a chat room. I'm also curious how many posts relate to the Galaxy Nexus vs. unrelated posts. I suppose we need something to do in the mean time while we wait.

I've been following this phone for a while now (and the Galaxy S II). I will keep waiting because I know I will own one some day (don't know when), and that day keeps getting closer. Our GNEX will be more special to us when we do get it because of this waiting. Kind of like when your a kid and that toy that you really want is more special on Christmas Day because you were waiting so long to get it. Compared to if you were given it the same day you first saw it. It's rewarding when you finally pull the wrapping paper off and open the box and play with it for the first time.

I'm now going to look at it this way. The Galaxy Nexus is not going to be available till Christmas. It's our Christmas present to us from Verizon that we have to pay for. We are going to have to patiently wait for Santa to bring us our Galaxy Nexus. If its available before Christmas Day, then its an early Christmas Present. The point I'm trying to make here is if little kids (usually impatient) can wait till Christmas for a new toy then us adults should be-able to wait as well.

I don't get why a lot of you are so impatient. Seems like most of you already have smart phones anyway. I can understand if they are not reliable and you want to replace it with a reliable phone. But if Verizon released the GNex before its ready, then you'll just end up with another unreliable phone. Is that what you want?

I know what I want, a Galaxy Nexus that works. I already have an unreliable phone (3 year old LG Chocolate 3). I've lived over 23 years without one, I think I can wait another month.

Don't get mad at Verizon for not giving a release day for it. Verizon probably doesn't know when they are going to release it. The set themselves a goal of end of the year. Just accept that it may be another month before they release it. They want to make sure its ready for us to enjoy. Verizon did release the Razr and Rezound and I bet both of those are better then what most of you have already. Coming from a Chocolate 3, either of those would make me happy, but I'm willing to wait for the GNex. Thats my choice. The rest of you have a choice also. Don't complain if the choice you made is to wait for the GNex. Your the one choosing to wait.

Interesting results when using different search terms on Verizon's website.

"Galaxy Nexus" gets a normal search results page.
"Galaxy" gets a normal search results page.
"Nexus" gets a normal search results page.

"Nexus Prime" goes to the Galaxy Nexus page.
"Prime" goes to the Galaxy Nexus page.
"ldnfdsviesnsPRIMEldknfsdoi" goes to the Galaxy Nexus page.

It appears that if you put the word "Prime" in the search, no matter what else is in there it goes to the Galaxy Nexus page. If the word "Prime" isn't in there, it won't go there no matter what you type.

Well like I said she only had it for a minute but she said out of the 3 new phones that was definitely her favorite (no big surprise I know), she said the screen looks amazing, and she really liked how it felt in her hand.

Nothing too earth shattering but a minute or so only allows so much haha she said everyone was so excited to try and get their hands on it

Hahaha cool, so I am assuming they didn't say or hint when it was gonna be released?

Nice, coming from an Apple fan to b00t. Did you tell her of the sickness going on inside the AF to hold that very device?

Lol I sent her the youtube videos today. She is starting to now realize how much I want this thing. Im actually taking her upgrade to get it :D but on an employee plan upgrades are plentiful anyways.

Ok so this isn't about a release date per say but my sister actually had her hands on a Nexus today!

She works in a verizon call center as a technical support person and I guess they had a "roadshow" today where all the different manufactures had working models of all their newer phones. She said everuone wanted to see the Nexus so she didn't get much time with it but still cool. Im jealous!

Like a lot of people who have messed with it she said it just had that really cool wow factor (and she is a fruit person)

That is a good thing. If tech support is getting their hands on them is has to be getting close.

So the BB guy told you that you had until jan 15th? I bought the rz today and was told I had until the 15th after I showed the policy to them, they had no clue about it... One of the fellas in the "rent a razr" thread mentioned that his local store told him that he had 14 days from time of activation.....?

Best Buy has their own return policy. I believe its 30 days but I didn't confirm that. Its only good for exchanging the phone though. Verizon's 14-day policy still applies in regards to being able to cancel or get back an upgrade discount.

If that is true, what exactly are my options of the gnex isn't out by day 14?

You can always reactivate your current phone.

I've been asking them on Google+ constantly, I think maybe this time I will get their attention...

Well hello there you share the same sentiment as many do here. Life is all about choices. I'm a kid at heart and admit to being anxious over something so material. Crazy world we live in. Glad you've joined in the hunt, do enjoy it as it will one day be no more. ;)

I think that we're going to be seeing less and less "leaks", judging by all the flaming that's been going on about it recently. Unfortunately if I get more info, I'll probably just PM a couple of people and do it that way.

Besides, our wait will be up in 2 or 3 weeks max. I guess it doesn't make a difference if we know exactly when it will drop.

C'mon HanSolo. Your kidding right?
A Thin skinned DA? No Way! Keep posting and scroll right on past the BS.
I have conformed eh?

The thread is getting kind of polluted though.

Haha I 100% agree with you! I didn't have a smartphone until fairly recently (my LG enV Touch broke in September) and I'm currently using my sister's old og Droid which is now more than 2 years old. I don't mind waiting till mid-December as long as my og Droid holds off until then :)

Lol, I can imagine how that went down:

"There's people on the internet! And they're angry!"
"I find this hard to believe..."

lol

I was thinking after the VZ employees I've spoken with:

"Hey sis, I've joined a tech forum and the word spreading around is thousands of people are leaving Verizon because they won't release the device soon enough"

"ehemm you idiot I was just playing around I don't know anything about the phone you speak of sorry gotta get back to work bye"

It's late and I am honestly too lazy to go back and look so I don't know if this has been posted or not.

Anyone see that 32GB is back on the official Nexus page?
Galaxy Nexus

Yup! It's been posted by several people during the day :p
But it's okay! I only found out about it just 2 hours ago... I'm sure some other people missed it as well :D
