How does one spend money on Verizon bloat? Serious. I've been either vanilla or ROM'd since nearly day one.
We (here at AF the techy geeks) are a major minority.

I'm inclined to believe this as well. If the RAZR had sold like hotcakes from day 1, if 11/11/11 at 11:11am would have seen packed stores, the GNex would've been out by now.
I think that the VZ bean counters have been steadily looking at the sales, and they probably have a trigger set in place, something like "GNex releases once 2 million RAZRs are sold, or on December 8, whichever comes first."
It's not impossible to imagine. Especially with the Love Tunnel saying that some were pushing really hard for this week.
I think some have been checking it out since the announcement
Checking in on the Nexus News, I can't believe how big of a deal the mainstream folks are making of Woz getting a GNex. Is it really that big of a deal? Do you think this news will persuade some of the iSheep to check out the GNex?
So here is my theory for lunchtime. Verizon has stock, and there is nothing wrong with the phone. But from the outpouring of support for this phone on the interwebz, they know they don't have enough, and want to avoid an Incredible shortage fiasco part 2 (even though that wasn't their fault). They are waiting to get enough stock to probably make it through the storm, and are not exactly sure when they will be getting it, but right now Dec 7th (same as canada) is looking promising for a big shipment from Sammy. They ARE planning on a massive launch ad blitz, but want to make sure they don't jump the gun like the Thunderbolt, so are being tight-lipped about it. What do you think?
(Yes, my optimism has flared up again)

LOL I have a whopping 37.4mb of data and my wife has 25.18mb 13 days into the billing cycle.
It should come with a warning =)
P3Droid tweeted:@MyDroidWorld I wouldn't count on that from what I just heard last night.
P3Droid also tweeted earlier that he couldn't believe it would have been six weeks before the public gets their hands on the GNex. He got his Nexus two weeks ago...@PydePypper I swore today I wouldnt talk about it, don't need everyone to be pissed all over again.
I wonder how that went over with Jobs, who was quoted as wanting to destroy Android. lolWoz has been an android fan for some time and was an original Droid owner as well. Glad word is getting out.

whats with all the talk about renting phones and the return policy?
Is it supposed to be cool these days to rip verizon off by depreciating one of their devices just because you want a new phone right now while you wait for the gn?
I seem to understand this forum does not condone discussion of tethering via hacking ware. Is this not some kind of mal method or procedure?
To me getting a device just so one can play with it will cause more harm than good. After they have had enough verizon will just massage their return policy to the point that folks with legit reason's for returning a device will suffer. And i will not blame verizon for doing it.
My guess is they will shorten it by 5 day first.
Maybe i'm missing something here.
i agree with the exception of those who are presently experiencing a dying phone
Apple is rumored to add support for near-field communications technology to iOS next year, potentially giving iPhone owners the ability to use their phone as an e-wallet for making transactions.
Smartphone makers out of Taiwan told DigiTimes on Tuesday that Apple currently plans to add NFC support to iOS in 2012, likely with the next iPhone model. That would help penetration of NFC expand from what is currently less than 10 percent of smartphones sold to more than 50 percent in the next two to three years.

That's the same thing I have been telling people since it started but every day some claims it to not be true and they only have 14 days...
Think about the average user. They don't even know what ROM is. They see that cool app on the phone that can do stuff and they click it. Low and behold, they get a charge on their bill that they may or may not even notice.
Can we please add three things to the first post?
1)That no one really knows when the Verizon double data promotion ends but if you order it on Amazon Wireless, it ends on November 30
....
I 99% agree with you and am having an moral dilemma myself with this one.
...
2. In my case, I have an unlimited data plan with AT&T. I want to take advantage of the double data deal. Verizon won't tell me when it ends. If they said... DD promo goes until 1/1, I'd hold out, no doubt about it. But, with speculation that it ends as early as tomorrow, I am contemplating the rental.
....
This is the #1 reason for me, Im not trying to screw Verizon, Im trying to become a customer and figure out the overlap between the end of the DD Plan, Return Policy, and the Release date. So these three unanswered dates, rumors, and speculations are pretty important to me.
For those of you out there with LTE phones, my main dilemma is whether to rent on Nov 30 to lock down and get the double data, or hope that the deal stays through the holidays. Is is that big of a deal, how much data do you guys use in a month?????????
i just checked mine
15 days into billing cycle
515 total minutes (210peak/102off-peak/203M2M)
903 texts
232.813 MB of data (i'm assuming you meant MB as well, 42 GB of data on a phone would be insane!)
Just saw your comment about it being your only internet, holy moley i was about to say thats insane data usage, being your only internet then that explains it. Thank god for unlimited data, if you had a 2GB plan you would be paying 400 dollars in overages ($10 per GB over x's 40GB)
