I don't see this thing getting advertised by VZ too much. Look at the HTC Device. That's a better phone than the RAZR in many respects, but I think I've seen 2 or 3 commercials on it. I drove by a Verizon store this morning and didn't even see a sign for it in the window.

On ICS:

I hope that someone can figure out how to disable the search bar on top. As I've said, I'm very minimalistic with my homescreen.

This is what it is presently (on the Dinc2):

The search bar would ruin it. :(

Pretty embarrassing that the Iphone held its own and in some cases was a bit faster than the Nexus. :eek:

I disagree, IOS has always been extremely quick and slick, not only has Android matched it on the Nexus, it's beaten the snot out of it in several instances. Very good to see.

Weak.

Might as well wait till Q1 2012 to get an SGSIII at this point.

But this is all we've known since the beginning.

The one thing I didn't like about Miui when I tried it last was the fact all your apps were jumbled around they were sorted alphabetically did they change that?

It's similar to iOS you have folders to drag, drop and organize. It's not for everyone

T-Mobile to launch Samsung Galaxy S II in white this holiday season | The Verge

mighty sexy and with t-mobile's very fast HSPA+ and the battery savings you get from HSPA+ over LTE it looks mighty tempting...

As sexy as the GN? NOT! :D

I wonder if we will hit 45,000 posts or 1,000,000 views first? :)

What if it happens at the exact same time :o

I am wondering if it is region specific... I have seen more of the Rezound ads than the RAZR. But I live in an area that is probably more interested in Beats than most.

can't read this at work either.......any insight from anyone not blocked from that site?

The UK has it, even Canada knows when they're going to get it, but when are us residents of the United States going to get a chance to own the Samsung Galaxy Nexus? According to these leaked Best Buy ads from Android Central, December 1 will be the big day for the stateside release of the questionably titled Nexus Prime.
In case you don't remember, before the device's official announcement, the newest Google-sanctioned Android phone was referred to as the Nexus Prime.

As a result, while we are hopeful that this is a solid date, take this leaked information with a giant grain of salt. The specs, pricing and description are all on point, but the inconsistent titling leaves us with a reasonable inkling of doubt.

Thats the article ;)

Here's my speculation:

Rinnnnng Rinnnnng

"Verizon Test Central."

"Hey, it's me from corporate."

"Yeah. Um. Hi."

"So, about those Nexus phone things - are you done testing those? We show them outstanding to your department and we'd like to get them back."

(long pause)

"Gee. Uh - gosh, well, no. Um, I mean, well, yeah, we're still testing them. Yep. Reeeeaaaaally testing them. So, no way we can give them back now."

"Oh. Are there problems?"

"Well. It's premature to give a report, but uh, no, not really. That's why we need to keep testing them. Yeah - that's the ticket. We're testing them!"

"Oh, ok. Good job! Any idea when you'll be done?"

"Are you ready to tell me the release date?"

"You know I can't discuss that."

"OK, well, I agree with you - we'll just keep testing them right up until release."

CLICK!

~~~~~~
Yeah, I know. Totally wrong and improbable and completely uninformed on my part.
After all, what corporation works like that?
Can someone tell me why they think it's December 1? I don't see a date anywhere on those materials.
Interesting might be on to something or it's just the differing schedules people are glued to the tube. I've seen 2 commercials for the Rez and I would guess well over 20 for the razr.
Serious question here and not trolling at all: What makes you want an Android tablet over the ipad2? Think about the features you want as well as apps and make a decision then. We have an ipad and an ipad 2 and love them both, and for what I use them for (email, browsing, netflix, streaming movies) I wouldn't consider an Android tablet. Also the ipad fits perfectly on my eliptical's book rack. While I prefer andrdoid handsets, I definately prefer the ipad as a tablet.
For the same reasons I wouldn't want an iPhone - customizable! I put my own launcher on my Thrive, I have a full USB port, a full HDMI port, an SD slot (not a micro). I hook it up to my 55" TV and stream Netflix, or hook up my BT mouse and BT keyboard, and use it almost like a desktop. I hook up my 1TB external drive to it, open Word / Excel docs, etc. The possibilities are incredible.
I had an iPad2, and although it was nice, I got TOTALLY bored with it in no time. I sold it 8 weeks after getting it. It truly was a smooth flowing grid of icons. I missed the abilitiy to do with it as I wished. With the iPads, you are nearly completely limited to whatever apps you have, and no more. I hated having to lug around cables / adapters just to get pictures from my camera to the tablet.
And, one of the BEST things...NO iTUNES! The freedom I feel with my Thrive is very nice! I will never go back to the walled garden. The iPad is an excellent device for what it is, but it's not for *me*. I prefer far more freedom than that.
Edit: Forgot to mention - I can actually charge a phone (including an iPhone...lol) via the USB port!
I'm sure some mod will make the search bar their first priority. Its just a matter of time. As for your homescreen. I'm with ya- minimal is better.
Here was the last time I did a screen grab:
Since then, I've removed the battery status indicator, combined several folders and reduced the number of homescreens to 2 instead of 3. When I was using sweeterhome2 beta, I only had one. I really wish they'd clean that launcher up for prime time. Its incredibly powerful in its customization.
Bit of bad luck on my part, i managed to get one of those early models with the volume bug. Guna hold out until samsung announce what the matter and plan of action is because i really dont want to send this phone back. I love it too much.
I emailed VZW customer support last week while fishing for Nexus info. I received a standard reply back about signing up for the Nexus info. I replied back yesterday that I had signed up but still hadn't seen any info and that I was ready to buy the Nexus.
Much to my surprise, a representative from Verizon just called me to address my email. The lady was very nice and very apologetic that there wasn't any Nexus info available yet.
It is frustrating that we still don't know a concrete date yet, but I must say, taking the time to call me to apologize was a really nice gesture on Verizon's part.
I'm going to continue to hold out for the Nexus. The longer I have to wait, the more my anticipation and excitement builds.
