Yeah this date is gathering more steam guys, I was told the same thing by a store manager at my local store last night. He said he got the date earlier in the day, and that he was even allowed to finally take down names for unofficial preorders.....which he wasn't allowed to do before yesterday.....

Hmm, that is interesting... I am going to have to go test out the unofficial pre-order thing tonight.

This is my personal opinion, I have no sources, no inside info, I'm just basing this off what I am reading.

If vzw wants to maximize their BF deals and the sales for the week that follows I say we should hear something between 12/1 and 12/8. If they want to maximize the sales of their existing lineup for the holiday season be prepared for it to drop between 12/26 and 12/31.

i know earlier i posted(along with some others) that story about modaco making a UI patch that would make a search button part of the software buttons along the bottom of the screen. actually, after doing a little more reading, found another story about it that says it will not only be a search button, but will be able to choose between different button layouts and buttons, such as menu(which i would like to have more than search personally)

MoDaCo's Paul O'Brien Releases Patch For Galaxy Nexus Softkeys With Menu And/Or Search Key Reinstatement

On a more positive note about college football.... it appears the first Twitter hashtag has made it's way to a college football endzone. Marketing genius.

With so many people having them find out that they can return phones up until 1/15 why exactly would it matter when Verizon releases the Galaxy Nexus as long as it's before 1/15? I think we'll get an announcement Monday or Tuesday next week with pre-orders beginning shortly afterwards and in store availability being Dec 8. Just my two cents. :)

Yup, alumni and fan. Sad time for the university, but hope those kids get justice.

Same here. Unfortunate times indeed, anyways I'm debating on getting tickets for the Big 10 title game if we beat Wisconsin......gonna be a good one.

All the Info I was able to squeeze from my contact at Verizon..

"At this point, we still do not have a sale date on the Nexus. I am considering this product myself. I am happy to get in contact with you once I get more firm information and the ability to place preorders for this phone. What is your mobile number so I can also check the upgrade eligibility? When the time comes to place the order, I will probably have one of my reps contact you, I have moved in to management of a sales team now."

OT:
Yeah, should be a great game. I hope we can stop Wisconsin, they've sure put up a lot of points this year. If our defense shows up, though, we may be in for a great game!

I emailed VZW customer support last week while fishing for Nexus info. I received a standard reply back about signing up for the Nexus info. I replied back yesterday that I had signed up but still hadn't seen any info and that I was ready to buy the Nexus.

Much to my surprise, a representative from Verizon just called me to address my email. The lady was very nice and very apologetic that there wasn't any Nexus info available yet.

It is frustrating that we still don't know a concrete date yet, but I must say, taking the time to call me to apologize was a really nice gesture on Verizon's part.

I'm going to continue to hold out for the Nexus. The longer I have to wait, the more my anticipation and excitement builds.

thigher you get the further you may fall.

Just to comment on the 'must come out before black friday for sales' angle that I think is mostly put to rest, I sell a consumer product through Amazon.com (won't spam it here, you can find it easily if you look). I was reviewing last year's sales around the holidays, and this is what I found. Small peak around Black Friday, much higher and broader peak around December 10th. I'm guessing Verizon must be targeting that larger peak, if they're targeting at all.

Think of how many dont know. I havent seen a commercial or a spot on the website about it. If it wasnt for the forum, i would never know. Its more of an internal thing. Remember 90% of customers are idiots
