What the _ is that thing on the left?! The GSM version looks decent. That piece o' plastic on the left is just turrible. It's taken at a different angle and the materials used make it look like cheap brittle plastic. The 3 contacts for the docking station look sketchy too. I'm hoping it's due to bad angles and bad lighting or that it's a non-working display.

I couldn't stand it anymore, so I got a RAZR. Am I "renting" it? We'll see. If the GNex comes out before January 15, I'll go take a long look at it and decide if it's worth an extra $35 to me. If it doesn't, oh, well, I have a great phone that will be getting ICS sooner than later anyhow.

FWIW, I went back and forth between the RAZR and Rezound at the store last night for about 20 minutes running apps, looking at videos, etc. Two things put the RAZR over the top for me: The screen, while lower resolution, has much better color and black levels. It really pops, while the Rezound's doesn't. And the speed. They had Quadrant installed on both, and the RAZR absolutely smoked the Rezound. And it seemed more responsive, anyhow.

Good luck to you GNex'ers who are keeping the faith. I may yet join you!

Your logic is not sound. Any bugs on ICS will be worked out on Nexus first and will hit other phones months later. How long did it take for HTC, Moto to come out with first GB phone after first Gb release? 5~6 months and ICS is even bigger upgrade than GB was to Froyo.

No, the logic is that once ICS does come to the Razr & Rezound, the bugs will be worked out and the experience will be less frustrating. Rather than own a device that has the first iteration of ICS and the bugs that are inevitable, those waiting will get a more trouble-free experience when they finally get ICS. Many also feel the underlying hardware on the Rezound & Razr may be better.

I'm open-minded enough to see both sides of the argument. I don't think there's any 'right' or 'wrong'.

its just because its a 3d rendering, not an actual photo. wait util the official press shots leak out then we will know for sure

Look what I found in my secret candy stash.... Even I forgot they were in there.

Glad you got something you like. I too would choose the razr over the rez. But about Quadrant, it's for the birds sorry!

The one thing that I really like about my DInc is the all-black design. Going to a phone with grey or silver painted... will be OK, but kinda reminds me of the plastic interior trim on certain cars that are painted to contrast with the base color. Not necessarily a bad thing, but IMHO not quite as elegant as all black.

Of course, as I like to say in my shop, I'm not here to make aesthetic decisions for customers :)

While I understand the logic, I sometimes think that we forget that while the bugs are worked out, the custom UI tweaks will delay things further. It may have been my particular Droid, but the majority of my custom ROM flashings were buggy or unstable in one way or another and I really don't want to depend on that before the device is even available.

And that's actually the unanswered question: How much of the manufacturer's UI will still be present with ICS on the Razr & Rezound? I don't find Blur too onerous at all on the Razr. The Rezound is a different story, but I think I just like Sense less than Blur (especially the less aggressive use of Blur on the Razr).

I bet sometimes it would look better if you did though.

Waiting is something we're getting good at doing.

Well, maybe not so much.

Yeah, no. Lol. We just have banded together for the wait which makes it slightly less agonizing

Thanks for the link. The photo enthusiast in me is skeptical. Would hope they would make an accurate photo representation on the site, but I'm doubtful. Although I don't mind the color if it is accurate. I actually quite like it

Agreed. I really like that shade.
