I had hoped the release would have gone more smoothly, too. Not going to lie and say I'm not disappointed, just that I can see all sorts of factors, some mentioned, and other not mentioned, that can affect the situation.

But I will leave you with one bit of info.
The GSM models were manufactured first. LTE models hadn't been finalized at the Hong Kong announcement, since they didn't give a finished thickness for the LTE model. That tells me, LTE models were going to come after GSM models, unless the GSM models are going to be held up as well (no point in that).

So by that logic, I wasn't expecting to see LTE models released the same time as GSM models. I knew they'd be delayed, just not sure by how much.

And just to be clear, I completely understand your position and it does make some sense - I just don't necessarily think it applies here. And if I came off snarky, it was meant to be directed at VZW, and certainly not you. :)
 
ok.. so apparently finding my kids' leapads is going to be as difficult as getting a nexus...

I'm spending way to much time scouting the internet for leapads and phone news... :rolleyes:

I had presented that an uncredited corollary to Amdahl's Law for years (back in my Cray benchmarking days) until someone found an ACM proceeding and helped me get it right. That was well over 15 years ago and I couldn't remember it, so I just winged that as close enough (the actual law is properly considered a corollary or derivative because in practice on a parallel system, space and precision tradeoffs become the real-world tradeoffs for performance enhancements). I can see why it reminded you of Knuth, but I don't believe that's right.

And Martimus is like us, so I figured if you didn't know, I would surely get a rise out of him.

My life must be pathetic, I continue to check this thread multiple times a day thinking there will be something "new.". Wow this has become painful to say the least. I wish I could stop looking, I don't even need a new phone I just WANT a Nexus. I have even considered renting a Rezound just to pass time! VZW please HELP!

Quit feeding us Droid X remakes like the Bionic and the Razr! As well as ThunderBolt and Incredible successors. It is 1000000% evident that you have become to big and do not care AT ALL about your customers wishes!

I pray that AT&T gets its act together or any other company for that matter. I can only dream of the day when someone can match your coverage (because a few already kill your prices) and give you a run.

This goes beyond the Nexus fiasco but the Galaxy Nexus is just the latest let down. I really do not understand why you REFUSE to give anything than a canned ANNOYING response to us about the Nexus??!?!?

Try a little honesty and compassion! OR DO YOU FORGET? WE MADE YOU!!!!!



to those on the forum that will lecture or criticize me for this or stand up for verizon and tell me how little I know about business I say....... :p

Have you considered the innotab? We got my kids those because we can put movies on. They have Tangled, Toy story, and Fox and the Hound right now.

This thread is MUCH better to me, because I am a part of it, and so are all of you. To me, it doesn't matter how long that thread was open or how long it takes to have more posts. It's irrelevant. One day, there will be another thread that's more"Epic" than this one, but perception is reality, so if you believe this is better, it is, if your opinion is different, then that is your truth, and nothing will change that. $.02

lol I'm in the same boat as you, my friend. I try to tell myself that I'm only checking the thread to see if there's news of the release because if there were it would definitely be here first. But then when I find nothing and posts saying that nothing has been announced, I still continue to read all of the posts.

If anything, this thread gives me comfort since I know I'm not the only one waiting (impatiently)

Yes and no. If it is not out by the eighth I am ABSOLUTELY leaving Verizon and getting my Nexus fix elsewhere. :mad:

Not at all your in good company! A lot of us don't need new phones. Heck a lot of us don't need anything. It is what it is, breath deep, enjoy your family and be thankful for the important things in life. We'll continue to provide you with support 24/7 till "the" day so hang on!
 
Someone please convince me to not purchase the nexus right now from expansys and go to at&t. Are they really that terrible compared to verizon? I looked at the coverage map, and I'm covered pretty much everywhere I go. And I heard their hspa+ network gets about 3-6mbps which is PLENTY fast for a cell phone IMO.

I'm so close to buying this and saying to hell with verizon.

Despite my DX starting to feel a bit laggy (probably need factory reset), I can agree that I'm just getting the tech itch, and I want is scratched. BAD.

You must have someone that is local who is on ATT you could ask about their service no? I Wouldn't want to try and convince anyone of what to buy or not to buy, but that's just me.
