when's the double data thing ending? Do I go pickup a rezound today and if so Costco vzw or where?

Costco has the Rezound on sale for $49.99 today and tomorrow. You even get to choose your data package with the 4 for 2 price. See Rezound thread.

Hard to be strong waiting for GN with these deals out there...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm going to ttry and resist viewing this thread today, as I am excited to spend the day with family. However I will have my Droid X with me at all times so ill probably bbe in the app frequently ... lol :D

My question of the day: with no sd card slot on the gnex, how will I make tthe ttransaction to it from my DX? Photos and such can be loaded from computer, but what aabout apps and their data. My password keeper most specifically. It seems to me it may be a major pain in the but compared to my previous upgrade, where I simply swapped out the SD card. :(

Any thoughts?

Simple.... the same way you would with removable memory, but instead of physically moving your card, hook it up to your PC, copy entire card, then hook up the nexus and copy from the PC to the mounted storage of the nexus. done. :D

I've never had internal memory fail on me. It's still chugging on my Samsung omnia.

Ah, I've had a few devices scramble or lose internal memory before (though not phones yet). With GNex providing only an MTP interface, we won't be able to run USB recovery utils as before. But you're right, I think internal NAND runs close to RAM speeds.

Unfortunately I don't think it works that way. The GNex doesn't have mountable USB storage out of the box. You won't be able to just drag all of your files over (at least I don't think so).

It does under Windows, it's just more cumbersome under Mac and Linux -- need to load drivers/apps.

Today's advertisement for Galaxy S2 indicates reason for delay of the Galaxy Nexus
Now we know why there is no Galaxy Nexus in the US.

These current adds for the S II indicate to me that the delay is being forced by Samsung and not Verizon.

They have inverntory to sell and an add campaign to help liquidate it.

Hmmm. Post#1. No comment

so if I do this now would I be able to exchange it for the gnex at the upgrade price within 90 days or at least before Jan 15th? I want to get the double data and $50 is much less of a risk.

The usual VZW 14 day from activation applies for upgrade return according to the website documents. I don't know if the extension to January is valid.

You've been reminded three(3) times that non-volatile memory can fail, so now you prefer to store your data internally where it's non-replaceable and non-recoverable. Not to be rude, but many people would learn a different lesson from that experience!

Okay we've got Mrs.58, Daughter.23, Son.18, and Wife.32 -- truly an android type of family, does the dog have a number? ;)

No dog... cat. The cat is the head of the house. Go figure. :p

Welp, after checking out the Transformer Prime, I'll be selling my Xoom and laptop, and the Prime will be my laptop and tablet. So, December looks great for picking up the latest Android devices. :D

You could be a zoo like our house, 3 dogs, 3 cats, and a fish.

So we had a milestone today, the first time since we got married we were able to establish a children's table, and have a relatively peaceful holiday meal. It felt great! When you have a 4,3 and 10 month old, the little things like that are huge!

So, Pretty sweet that Phandroid has 10 GNex's in the contest... I hope all the winners are from this forum! Hey Han, maybe one of the winners will be the top poster in this thread ;) That would solve your TP/Ski trip/GNex conundrum :D

This is slightly disappointing from Engadget's review:

I've seen reviews of the camera that say the Nexus camera takes better pictures than the SGSII in certain situations. The daylight photos in that review were the same for both cameras - couldn't tell the difference. Plus, it absolutely crushed the SGSII in low light situations. Photos are all subjective anyway.
