***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

Ok maybe I didn't do such a good job explaining this:
Both my mom and I are upgrading to the GNex when it comes out. My sister, however, wants a new phone as well, but her upgrade isn't available until July. What I'm trying to figure out is if there's a way to get her a new phone too, without having to pay full price.

With her upgrade being so far away, the only two options that make everyone happy is to either
A) have someone get a used phone through swappa, ebay, craigslist, etc
B) go the add a line option.

Should have just given your Thunderbolt to your sister.

That bus left the station long ago - let's move on, yes? ;)

Not sure what side your parents are going to come down on that argument, but I can certainly tell you how it would end if I were the parent in that situation...

Pretty sure Scott knows how his mom will react - so - this bus too has left the station. ;)

This is the answer I was looking for! Thank you!

Now we can move on.

I like how you say to move on, then edit out the entire part of my post where I DID move on.

Neither I nor any other mod edited this post, so I'm confused. If there's some miscommunication, maybe taking it to private messaging is best. ;)

Basically, no. I'd say your best bet is to call in/email, talk to customer service, ask them to bump your July upgrade up to the same time as the other two, and you want to have all three at the same time. Make up something if you need to. If they say no, call/email again and talk to a different CSR. From what I've heard it is very possible to get upgrades bumped forward 6+ months, but you may have to beg several different CSR before one agrees.

Should have just given your Thunderbolt to your sister.

Reading the past few posts.. What's this business about it coming out around Christmas?
Just last night we were talking about releasing this tuesday

Just speculation and bad information. Pretty much the same as last night. A few folks reporting Corp store CSR's saying Xmas or after and I think someone even said February but heck, I even had a phone CSR tell me they don't have a Galaxy Nexus that would be sprint because his buddy has one and it is with Sprint.

I was referring to post #50228 where you edited (deleted?) most of my post out of your quote. That would be like me doing this.

There seems to be some miscommunication between us, maybe we should take this to private messages..

See? Maybe I should have used the word "Quote" in my message. Anyways back to the phone.

I was at my local verizon retail store this morning and got the EXACT same response. "The nexus prime has been delayed until early next year." I asked for more information, all he said was that they were just informed about the delay, and he didn't know the reasoning. He also said that verizon's version is called the "nexus prime" while the rest of the world has the "galaxy nexus".

At first I thought he was just feeding me BS, but just now I read this thread and apparently two other posters have reported it so I thought I'd let you guys know. It's pretty sad, but none too surprising given Verizon's history.

I don't want to believe it! I don't!

Han, I know you're lurking, come out and play!

Also a few days ago, a lot of names turned green. Today, a few familiar names turned black... Curious

Early, I appreciate what you and the other mods do here. I know sometimes everyone doesn't agree, but your efforts are extraordinary! Thanks!

Thank you!

I do want to be clear on the most important thing - I'm just a volunteer trying to follow Phases' orders as best I see how.

If anyone finds me in error, please PM me or let me know - I make no claims at perfection (quite the opposite, I'm often wrong) and my door is always open. :)

Ughh...not happy to hear this. It's one thing to have a bunch of clueless reps throwing out different false information, but when they start to have a cohesive message it's not a good thing.

I don't care what the call the phone; just release it already!

all of this upgrade talk makes me glad i worked a deal out with my family. i pay the bulk of the plan with my mom/dad/sister/brother-in-law paying a $10 (+$30 data) add on with the agreement that i get every upgrade if i want it. i only opt to use them if a groundbreaking device is released, but between 5 rolling upgrades and hand-me-downs, it keeps everyone happy. their bills are cheaper, my bill is the same as it would have been on my own, and i get at least 1 new phone a year. :D

I'm in the same situation works nicely and everyone is happy.

I refuse to believe this. It makes absolutely no sense. Verizon said this year, and it has to come out this year. Retail stores don't get notice of delays, anyway, they just find out when the phone is coming a couple days beforehand.

If this turns out to be true, and it's because of the Droid 4, I swear I will find someone's head to rip off.

I don't either, and I would still take it with a grain of salt for now, but I do think the writing is on the wall... Verizon has their flagship phone for the holiday season (RAZR) and they're happy to sit on the nexus for as long as they want. :(

Probably best to respect privacy on that - such things are best not aired in public. PM is best for that, but mods will not answer questions about other members, so just chat with your buds on that one, thanks.

To have a wider discussion with all staff, including Phases, ok to have your own private thread here -
