Nov 28 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics expects to beat its 2011 smartphone sales target thanks to brisk sales of its Galaxy smartphones, a mobile executive said on Monday.
"We are pinning high hopes...on achieving sales higher than our previous plan," the executive said at a press conference, without disclosing its expected sales figure.
The executive was speaking at a local launch event for the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE.

Seoul

Random "Nexus Prime" search info from verizonwireless.com

If you go to verizonwireless.com and use the search bar at the top I got some interesting results. Nothing great, just interesting.

If you search "galaxy nexus" or even just "nexus" you get a general search results page with the link for the galaxy nexus registration page at the top.

If you search "nexus prime" it goes right to that galaxy nexus sign up page.

Someone optimized the search engine and that page to react to nexus prime and not galaxy nexus.... Just wondering if Verizon themselves even knows the name of the phone.

Like I said, nothing great... Just bored.

Have a good sunday night

That was out a week or so ago. Pretty cool but nothing's come of it.

Answered my own question, sounds like the Phone launched today (Monday in South Korea) in South Korea, most of South Korea is CDMA so that bodes well for us

Since the wording is "Nov 28" and "Monday" maybe a pre-release statement in advance of the launch tomorrow? One can hope...

EDIT: Well, maybe. At least South Koreans get it. Wonder if we can import their CDMA phone to Verizon if it takes too long to get it there?

Usually VZW announces preorders. I can't think of a preorder that was a surprise. I know the Dinc and Razr both knew about the preorders before they went live.

Tomorrow they announce a preorder will begin on Tuesday for Release on the 8th.

And tomorrow, when we hear nothing, I'll come up with another logical sounding plan.

Edit: Rybnik, you're a glitch in the matrix. You must be removed:p
Sorry, I think I fixed the formatting..
Multi-quoting from my Droid is much more error prone than doing it from my PC!
Hi new person coming through!
I've been lurking for a long time because I never felt the need to post. I've always loved reading all of your comments, but I could/would never miss Han's. I'm gonna miss reading your posts every morning! I hope your decision was just a knee jerk reaction, but I understand where your coming from. Wish you the best in your Nexus filled future :D

Look, you made a new kid come out of the lurk-closet! I guess there's no going back in, huh?
Nope, lol, Welcome!
Quite appropriate, a moment of silence please.

What in the world. I leave for a day and this thread goes crazy. So many people on probation and the release party hasn't even started yet.

My $0.02 regarding this whole language thing:

This is exactly why I typically don't participate in many forums, and tend to just lurk. "Offensive" and "adult" are two words that are far too subjective to apply to language. Different groups of people will find certain words far more offensive than others, and even those that reside in different locations. For instance, there is a word that in the US is considered a very insulting word, yet in the UK is slang for a cigarrette. There's also the "N" word, that can be either insulting or used as a term of endearment, depending on the person using it as well as the target of the word. Even curse words have changed over the years. Listen to Carlin's words you can't say on TV, then see how many of them you can hear on a single episode of Sons of Anarchy. On the other hand, the internet has brought disturbing new meanings to fairly innocuous combinations of words.

The bottom line is that someone out there will always be insulted by something we say, no matter how innocently we say it. Unless we're intentionally trying to insult someone or being completely inconsiderate, then I say no harm done.

And with that, back to lurking.

P.S. Han, you will be missed.

Han, you have my support in your analysis of the situation and your decision. I have been a member of many private forums. Some have censored what can be considered much more than others. Some are just free-for-alls, where most of the conversation is very funny, off-topic, and entertaining drama as good the best TV show. Others are kept very tightly shut down and censored.

In every case, the owners believe that there is not contract created with the members that would require owners to uphold any particular stated rule or policy as a contractual agreement. This belief probably comes from the belief that there is no consideration given by the members. However, this is likely ignoring the fact that the membership bring to the owners the benefit of the advertising revenue which owners could not collect but for the membership being registered.

In any event, this is the state of online forums todays. I could tell right away that this forum tries to be very family friendly, shying away from any adult humor or entertainment in the form of drama. That's ok. I've just always respected that, and just posted very little and all on topic. It doesn't bother me that such safe family friendly and boring off-topic conversation such as football is tolerated but anything remotely funny is immediately censored as it threatens offend the fragile sensitivities of anyone involved. That's ok. I see this, and I accept this and I don't try to be funny, offend or develop any real relationships on here. I will just get the help and information I need on here, and I won't try to contribute any of the funny or entertaining conversations that real adults might have with each other in real life in the course of forming relationships.\

I know this post is critical, but it is just the facts I observed and the decision I've come to, which is contrary to yours, Han. I will stay here, and accept it for what it is. Get what I can out of it, and politely keep my head down for fear of retribution from those in power.

Numerous warnings were given publicly as to what is acceptable language. Han saw them, I discussed matters with him prior to his infraction and he choose his own words.

I invited him to discuss the matter further with me without penalty privately or to contact Phases for a determination.

An infraction reversal when asked for and found warranted is easy to come by. Our doors are always open, I have stated this often in public and privately to many here.

He chose this path instead along with what is certainly a very interesting and convincing telling of the situation.
