Yes. But I made a promise here a couple nights ago that I will watch it

Ah, from your avatar of the day I thought you'd already done that...

Well, make it a Star Wars Week, one a night for 6 nights. I think we have all agreed that the proper order for a first time viewer is 4-5-6-1-2-3. Enjoy!

EDIT: Well, MOST of us have agreed. Of course some believe watching it straight through is good, too. Your discretion in the end: either way works.

Fresh off the twitter feed: Confirmed: Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE release date; pre-order Tuesday - Computerworld Blogs

Sorry the link is terrible, I'm on my G2.

Non-mobile link and quote: Confirmed: Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE release date; pre-order Tuesday - Computerworld Blogs

The most detailed and credible comes from Mike "micdawg" Peak. Here's his story, with only minor editing for length and taste:

Last week I sent an email to Verizon letting them know how disgusted I was with the way they have handled the launch of the galaxy nexus. After multiple emails back and forth...I got a text message saying "this is [name redacted] from Verizon wireless I will be calling in a couple minutes from a 678 area code number".

When she called me I explained to her my issues. ... She then said "Well Mr. Peak, I can assure you, it won't be long. Preorders are set to start Tuesday (November 29th). And the phone will be released Dec. 8th." She also then said she was going to get ahold of my local store to make sure they called me as soon as they got one in, and held one for me to ensure I got one in the first Wave. Which I thought sounded like ********. But low and behold, Saturday night around 6pm I got a call from the Verizon store 1 town over (she apparently didn't Google the closest..) and they have my name down and are saving me a nexus, and will hold it for 2 days past release for me.

I collaborated with another member to make sure I was using a good pic. I figured she would make everyone smile. AND she has the distinction of being the only non illustrated avatar for me.
I plan on seeing if I can get the movies from the library and will watch them after we have our precious babies.

Santa, that Yoda be.jpg

Aha...I knew it...without the force, how could "Santa" deliver all those parcels? Hopefully he won't have to deliver our Galaxy Nexi, as we'd have them pre-Christmas, unless he works for Fed-Ex by day. On the other hand, if he wants to bring us some unnecessarily awesome accessories on the 25th...that'd be cool. Ima learn to bake just for the occasion...58 cookies. :D

anyone else get that $50 voucher for accessories that was posted over the weekend? hopefully they have car and home docks out at launch that i can use that for.

How does it work? You buy $25 wort of x and get a voucher for $50? What would I spend the $25 on? Can I purchase GNex accessories at VZW yet? Not sure how I can take advantage of the offer.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus LTE release date rumor: Nov 29 - Computerworld Blogs (Nov 25th)

This appears to be an updated version of the same page (troll much) with a different URL.. bad news though..

Well, it's four hours later and we now have several more reports of people calling or visiting other Verizon stores. It seems that the consensus is that Mac58 was told the wrong thing. Or s/he was trolling. Or it was all a figment of our collective imaginations.
EDIT: This article was dated earlier than the one in the first quoted link.

Boy I hope you are right! @VZWSupport finally answered one of my tweets, but offered no new information (see below).

Me:
@VZWSupport I know that you are ignoring these tweets... But is there any chance that we may hear something about the #GalaxyNexus today?

VZWSupport:
@PerCompLLC I want it too! The launch date will be announced this year. Sign up for updates on the Nexus here bit.ly/sHmdDq ^TH

Me:
@VZWSupport Yeah, I signed up long ago... However, I received my Bionic notification 3 days after launch, so I'm not holding my breath.

VZWSupport:
@PerCompLLC We do not have a date for the Nexus. Once we have info, we will share it with everyone. ^MSF

Excellent! Sorry for missing that... it's been a few days since I've been on here and I just don't have the time (or the will) to read through the 25+ pages I missed.

If you're a sci-fi fan, you'll love Star Wars. And since you've never seen them, you're in a unique (and enviable) position to be able to watch all 6 movies in order. Not in release order, but in proper sequential order. Enjoy!

If only Verizon knew how much "launch date will be announced this year" will be dissected.

So I went with the "Rent-a-RAZR" program 2 weeks ago (my old phone didn't function anymore and the Verizon rep actually talked me into doing it). My question is, if/when they announce a pre-order tomorrow how will it work for me since I have to exhange my RAZR? Pre-order and pay full price since I don't technically have an upgrade left on the account and when it arrives take my RAZR back to the Verizon store and get refunded the difference? If that is the case I'd have to pay a lot of money out of pocket until the refund...

just wait til the 8th when it's being sold out of the store? take razr back then for return transaction?

if you preorder, i think they'll ship it out the day stores release it? i'm not really sure. i imagine you'd have it same day as store release, or 1 day after, or 2 days after

I personally think the Nexus Prime name change is a load of hogwash. It was announced as Galaxy Nexus, all leaks (aside from the Best Buy ads...later corrected) indicate Galaxy Nexus, Google's and Verizon's site indicates Galaxy Nexus...I just don't see them changing it this late in the game. If they were looking to ship by Christmas, then it would seem likely that packaging and production should have already been completed by now and the phones should be en-route to the US (if they aren't already here).

Number 2 and 3 is plausible but given that I don't believe number 1, I would consider those other two suspect. Not saying it's impossible but just really hard to believe this one.
I would actually be okay with the phone being called the Nexus Prime, I like that name much better. I happen to really love the Droid branding, so I'd even be okay with Droid Nexus or Droid Prime. Number 2 does indeed sound plausible. Number 3 worries me quite a bit, I sincerely hope that this never happens.

Plus I know we are all down right now, but the massive swing when Verizon announces the date will be whiplash inducing. Then it will be like the days before Christmas, the excitement will be uncontainable. I want to be here for that.
By the time the phone actually launches, it might actually BE the days before Christmas.

I think it was more like a couple weeks ago by now, BB. :D

Based on how it seems to work, if you need the RAZR until the Gnex arrives, you won't be able to preorder. You will need to wait till they release and exchange at the store you bought it from. Otherwise you will have to pay retail for the gnex, but will only be refunded subsidized price when you return the RAZR.
