Checking back for lottery results ..... And looks like we've got a nice consolation prize of sleep.

Same bat-time same bat-channel tomorrow?

Yes, Unfortunately, I got a slightly different "no go" response...

ex: Due to the inability of Verizon to release a phone on time I'm seriously thinking about switching providers

How can you say they haven't released it on time when they said by the end of the year???

Everyone needs to calm down and wait or give up and get a different phone.

one strategy for getting an online CSR link that's had a higher hit rate for me is go to upgrade device, actually click on a phone (i think i normally do razr) and then fiddle with adding and removing it from your cart.

The ol' honeytrap approach. ;)

Cant stop watching.... The Walking Dead..... Verizon release the nexus and I shall call the hordes of zombies upon you!

Heh, I love that show. Recent convert but I missed the last episode: NO SPOILERS PLS, gonna catch it online.

I know I've already stated my displeasure with this situation but before I sign off for the night (and expect nothing in the morning), I leave Verizon with this rhetorical question (which they won't see of course):

Do they not understand? Do they not see what's going on around them? They can either listen to their customers and listen to the pleas or choose to ignore them and go their own way. If they want to satisfy their customers and that's the primary goal according to their mission statement, they could have easily done that a while ago. They chose not to.

Verizon, I'm just about sick of it. It's not even so much about the Galaxy Nexus at this point, it's about the corporate rule you have over your customers. You're almost as bad as Apple at this point...

Good night all. I know I'm usually the optimist here but it's hard to be optimistic in this kind of situation :/

Well I guess I will go tick my wife off by taking a shower and going to bed. that will wake her up and thats like a hibernating bear. wish me luck.

same response with a tiny extra bit of comedic value:
Brittany: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
You: Hi Brittany, I was just wondering if the rumors that are now going around all over the internet that the galaxy nexus will begin preorder today (tuesday) are true?
Brittany: Thank you for your inquiry. We are still on track to announce the availability of the Galaxy Nexus by Samsung this year. We encourage you to sign up at www.verizonwireless.com/galaxynexus so you will be alerted when the phone becomes available.
Brittany:
You: o is it just the announcement that is scheduled by the end of the year
You: or launch as well?
You: i thought verizon's earlier press release
You: had said it would launch by year's end too
Brittany: That's the only information I have.
You: so verizon's press release
You: isn't 100percent reliable at this point?
Brittany: If verizon really released it then it's true.

It's not just Verizon btw guys. Video Games do this all the time (though they actually blow release dates, which Verizon has not). Also, I work in the computer hardware industry and we announced a motherboard to come out "soon" and it took like 3 months. In our case, it was due to one team telling us it was ready, then Q&A discovered serious bugs and we simply will not release unless it's ready. As long as the phone comes out before the end of the year, I won't hate on VZW that much. By the way I am the community guy there and get hit HARD with stuff like this. Let's give the CSRs a break. They don't make policy.

What you're failing to understand is that we are a minute part of their customerbase. The people reading this thread are by far the exception.

Again your pointing anger at Verizon for what? Not dancing to our schedule or song? I would love to have the phone as much as anyone but twitter-bombing Verizon isn't getting it here faster.

Well, considering all the leaked MAPS and literature pointing at past dates, I think it's painfully obvious that there has been a delay. Witholding information doesn't magically make that go away. I'm more annoyed by the lack of communication with their customers than anything. Had they initially come out and said that they were working out a few bugs, I'm sure everyone would be much calmer and a lot more forgiving. But they refuse to comment on anything Nexus related, which is understandably frustrating.

You talking about the leaked maps that we don't even know are real?

that maybe, but between work, family and friends I can name 50+ people that come to me for tech advice. Keeping the geeks happy is not a bad PR move, upsetting them can be costly
