Very true but this article is scary. (I know it is CNET)

CDMA Nexus One appears to clear FCC | Android Atlas - CNET Blogs

Well it was known that the CDMA Nexus One was in test on Verizon. Obviously FCC approval doesn't guarantee release.

I guess I'm more optimistic of the fact that we WILL get the GNex on Verizon this time than I am of any rumored release date. As I've said before, I will start panicking if we don't get the Galaxy Nexus before Christmas. Otherwise, cooler heads should prevail.

Morning all!

Is Docomo an LTE/CDMA company??? If so this is very good news for VZW folks as this might be a LTE version.

Or it could be a sign of internal problems within VZW. I don't believe LTE is the problem. More than like the NFC, or something similar.

Just makes me loathe VZW even more.

Ooh this is such an expensive temptation if the tech truely would function on Verizon's network. No subsidization would suck, but it would be a nice way to show Verizon to not screw with its customers so much.

There is no way Verizon could back out now. Production of the units happened a long time ago. Verizon would take a huge hit from having to absorb the production and design costs of the unit alone and pay the void of contract fee's to samsung and google.

Let's cut to the chase. Instead of telling us the Nexus would be available "later this year" VZW should have just come clean. There would be less frustration if the would have just said "Available 12/31/11 @11:59 pm" I mean that's what it is looking like :eek::eek::eek:

In all seriousness, way to ninja the release Verizon.....in a not cool way :D

Hello I'm all caught up with the posts from this morning. I had something small done to me, a test as an outpatient yesterday but I was under anesthesia pretty much all day and was a little loopy. That's why I didn't have the past two days.

Don't be shy, Steven..we all know the procedure was to surgically remove your eyes from this forum. I'd ask for your money back. It only lasted two days!

Welcome back.

Alright, time to put my pessimism hat on. I know Steven posted he thinks the disagreement is between people who want to just release it already, and just use an OTA to fix the issues, and those who want to fix the phone first. What if that is not the case? What if there are those who feel the release is being handled correctly, and those who feel they should have never officially announced the phone in the first place... Maybe the customer service folks are just pissed that they announced it without having it ready, or at least a concrete date, like they usually do...

I just got this in a PM from Han and wanted to share it with everyone. Granted, the news is troubling, but it's news, nonetheless. Please don't go crazy over it. Stay respectful and continue to love one another, please. :)

Hi Steven,

Just wanted to let you know that my sister texted me:

Corporate is debating whether to release this year or just announce this year. Hedging their bets in case they want to push it for Q1 earnings. Dec. 8 still possible, but decision not final.

It's up to you if you want to post it. I just thought they deserve to know if my sis texts me with any info.

So yeah, I guess Mr. Link's 10am "gut feel" was bunk. Shocker. :(

I think that it is pretty safe to say at this point that "gut feelings", "my rep said", "I saw a screen that said", "my source said", "my hemorrhoids are telling me" are all completely useless. Until we have dozens of reps saying the same thing it is extremely unsubstantial. It obviously has to be released sometime in the next 90 days. If everyone predicts everyone of those 90 days, someone is bound to be right. And if one person predicts that it will never release, they could be right too.

My 2 Cents:
1. At some point VZW will release a PR stating when it will be released. That PR may end up being true.
2. Until then, the speculation is pointless and emotionally draining.

It would be truly deflating if Google did not learn from the Nexus One debacle. I'm going to go ahead and HOPE (that's all that's left to do, isn't it?) that Google would include an astronomical non-fulfillment penalty should Verizon decide not to carry the Galaxy Nexus. I'm guessing the PR flack wouldn't be soo kind either. Also, let's keep in mind that this phone has much greater demand/publicity than the Nexus One had. Anybody else wanna give Google the benefit of the doubt?

i could be wrong but i remember reading that Japan mostly uses CDMA/LTE

Docomo uses CDMA and LTE, but I believe they vary in frequency bands in comparison to Verizon. So I don't think their handsets would work on Verizon's network. Someone correct me if I'm wrong in my assumption.

I am so glad I bailed on my check the thread a thousand times a day habit. After the fiasco a week or so ago I was going to switch to AT&T or get the ReZound. I checked my options out and realized I really want the gnex. I also realized that it wasn't the lack of having the phone that was driving me crazy it was the lack of information. I now try to check once or twice a day and have adopted the attitude that until my OG dies (which is close) I'm just gone chill and see what happens.

Has made me much less frustrated every day.

Hmm, that's troubling. Well, thanks for the update, Steven.

EDIT: By the way, the thread title could probably stand to be changed.

Thanks Han & Steven.

If they don't release it this year not 100% sure what I am going to do honestly. Makes it a very tough decision although I may just end up with a Rezound - I guess only time will tell.

Really wanted that Nexus device I never got though.

During an investigation we recovered an unlocked 32GB iPod Touch that has not been registered or have any owner identification info to help get it back to its original owner.

Apple has a lost registry and such but if you call its totally useless.

So, I am the new owner unless the owners ID is revealed.

Looking at the browser history I see a user has been doing lots of research on the GN at android central...... Heh!

This being my 1st experience with an apple interface I am glad I am Android. I keep trying to swipe and such and getting aggravated in the way it is.

The darned thing is everything BUT a phone it seams.

The best part other than the freebee is my car stereo a Pioneer DEH-200HD has an iPod interface! :)

I lost a 32 GB iPod Touch on an Airtran plane after switching flights on a layover in Atlanta. I am so disappointed who ever found it didn't turn it in. I contacted Airtran by the time the plane landed back in D.C., but it was gone. I get sick everytime I think about it. Worse, I had a personal banking app on the device and panicked for a good couple of weeks afterward.
