I just got this in a PM from Han and wanted to share it with everyone. Granted, the news is troubling, but it's news, nonetheless. Please don't go crazy over it. Stay respectful and continue to love one another, please. :)

If they don't release it this year, I'm done. I will use my Dinc until it is unusable and then switch carriers. I'm sick of this crap. :(

I'll need to go read their original PR about "this year". I wonder if they every said it will be RELEASED this year or used some shady word play to leave the possibility of just announcing it this year.

At this rate, the razr is going to get ICS before the freaking nexus is even released. what a joke.

Okay, now I'll proceed to panic :(

I was one of the people that believed the RAZR sales theory. But I don't anymore. Releasing a statement that the Nexus is delayed until 2012, would push me and many others to quickly buy an R phone. I think that VZW is just completely screwing this up with too many chiefs trying to make the same decision with conflicting stupid notions of how to make the most money.

There is only one way I can think of to get back at Verizon. Im not switching to AT&T, though I might if I could keep unlimited data. So my revenge will be to abuse 4g lte as much as possible. I'll have torrents constantly running and aim to download 100 gbs of data per week. Join me in an LTE abuse protest when/if the nexus is released. Sure we'll he hurting our own network but our wrath will be felt! Who is with me? rabble rabble!

this isn't surprising, I've always been of the opinion that the release was being pushed/modified on the fly by the VZW exec's to meet corporate goals, NOT because of serious issues with the phone...

I think that it is pretty safe to say at this point that "gut feelings", "my rep said", "I saw a screen that said", "my source said", "my hemorrhoids are telling me" are all completely useless. Until we have dozens of reps saying the same thing it is extremely unsubstantial. It obviously has to be released sometime in the next 90 days. If everyone predicts everyone of those 90 days, someone is bound to be right. And if one person predicts that it will never release, they could be right too.

My 2 Cents:
1. At some point VZW will release a PR stating when it will be released. That PR may end up being true.
2. Until then, the speculation is pointless and emotionally draining.

^^^^^ Yup!

It is said that doing the same thing time and time again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity.

I propose a new strategy. Instead of bombarding Verizon CSR's with useless calls, useless chats, in store managers and sales people with useless discussions over a phone that they are clearly not in the mood to talk about, lets focus on Google execs and Samsung execs.

I will do the leg work and post here the appropriate email/contact information.

Lets try something new.

And this is why Verizon is evil. Rather than give their customers what they want, they care more about their bottom line.

Wondering if anyone has a "drop dead" date, meaning if the device isn't announced by a certain time, they will no longer purchase it. I have a Thunderbolt with an extended battery that works fine, so I'm not in a huge hurry, but I think if this is pushed into next year I'll probably wait and see what other manufacturers are doing with ICS.

Thanks for the info Steven (and Han)! I am not sure if I can wait until NEXT YEAR for this phone, my OG Droid is struggling and I constantly don't receive text messages and have it freeze up when receiving calls. I'm not sure what to do at this point... ugh... I hate you Verizon so much right now. If ATT still had unlimited data (or even the 4gb for $30 option) I would be done with Verizon and pick up the skyrocket.

Verizon knows they are sitting on a gold mine at this point. All they have to do is look at all the tweets, reviews, and forum discussion this phone is generating.

On top of all this they have exclusivity in the US.

I am sure they want to release this phone, I just wish they can communicate more to us.

Wow, if they don't release it this year, then they most likely lost a customer. As someone waiting to start a Verizon contract with the Nexus, why should I wait this long if AT&T will probably have the nexus by that time...

I have no desire to start a contract with Verizon if they are going to be this way.

Thank you Han and Han's sis and Steven for the info... could make staying with AT&T an easier decision.

I think the logic of pushing earnings to Q1 is flawed. I believe people that want phones want them now. Granted some may have the self-control to wait that long. But I think as far as overall earnings, VZW will lose some customers to other companies due to disappointment.

I think with the news this morning from Steven and now Han's PM that its time to reconsider waiting for the GNex. I think I am going to wait until Thursday and if no announcement then I am going to get a ReZound!!!!

:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I just don't care anymore. Screw you Verizon. I really don't want another HTC phone. I would go back to iPhone but that screen is so small. UGH...

My guess is that if it is not released by 12/15... then it won't happen in 2011. Why bother to release a phone after Christmas presents have already been purchased? If only the moronic cowards would just say one way or another, we could move on with our lives.

While there are caveats to Verizon passing this phone, it's not impossible for them to decide not to proceed. They have the money, the balls, and the arrogance to do so, I wouldn't put it past them. I don't wanna see that happen, but don't think Verizon can't put out a new press release stating some BS that they decided to forego the GNex because they don't feel it would offer the "customer experience" their customers deserve.

Thanks for the info, but what really bothers me is why is Google just sitting around and not doing anything about VZW.
This is hurting Google and if this keeps up, than the Gnex will not be the first phone with ICS.

Getting pretty disgusted with Verizon and wishing the competition would catch up already:mad: I try not to come on here and vent too often but geez...I am so frustrated...
