Great googly moogly, this is frustrating! My wife and I are currently phoneless (borked OGD's), and I'm getting really tired of being without a phone.

Did anyone happen to bookmark the comment with all the verizon executives? I doubt it will help, but I'm tired of being without a phone, and don't want to risk the rent-a-Rphone route.

TIA!

BTW, tx Stephen and Han for sharing your info!

What's the best cheap phone available that works on Verizon's network but off a Verizon contract that I can root and be happy with for another year or so? I don't want to spend too much though.

Basically, if this phone doesn't come out this year then I'm done looking at it seriously. I'll just wait for CES and then when my contract is up...consider other carrier options. This kicking the can is just frustrating.

I just got this in a PM from Han and wanted to share it with everyone. Granted, the news is troubling, but it's news, nonetheless. Please don't go crazy over it. Stay respectful and continue to love one another, please. :)

Way to ----- the pooch Verizon

I was one of the people that believed the RAZR sales theory. But I don't anymore. Releasing a statement that the Nexus is delayed until 2012, would push me and many others to quickly buy an R phone. I think that VZW is just completely screwing this up with too many chiefs trying to make the same decision with conflicting stupid notions of how to make the most money.
Exactly. Its really pissing me off that they just say give a date or say delayed until 2012 because I'm using a flip phone. I went through 3 phones on my insurance and decided it was not worth it to buy a replacement phone. I dug up an old phone thinking that I would only be using it until late October - Early November. Had I known this was going to happen I would have gotten a new phone back in September. I've had my upgrade since November 2011.

Thus the reason I'm not biting on the VZW "rental plan". It could quickly turn into a "rent-to-own plan".

Thanks for passing along, Steven. And thanks for sharing, Han. I know you're still out there.

Dissapointing. :(

are you kidding me?!?! if they delay this thing to next year there's no way i will buy it. this is getting ridiculous now!

I have to honestly say verizon has done 2 things:

1. Irritate the hell out of me by yet again leaving me in the dark and waiting (was going to get a bionic but we all know that story ends)

2. Absolutely killed the hype i had over this phone a month ago, i am honestly just losing interest in it because it has been so long and everyone else already has the damn thing in thier hands as of a week and a half ago.

Just my time to chime in, been real busy at work so i haven't been posting as much.....also i just noticed im in all caps....i am working on 2d drawings and have caps lock on so didn't feel like re-writing this lol sorry.

Wondering if anyone has a "drop dead" date, meaning if the device isn't announced by a certain time, they will no longer purchase it. I have a Thunderbolt with an extended battery that works fine, so I'm not in a huge hurry, but I think if this is pushed into next year I'll probably wait and see what other manufacturers are doing with ICS.

I'm using 3 batteries on my OG Dinc and doin fine too. I'll most likely stick it out to the bitter end because I want the Nexus. I don't want to see how HTC will incorporate ICS and Motorola is not even an option (I'd rather go iOS or Windows).

Verizon, Y U TORTURE US??????

Thanks Steven, even if I HATE what you give us :o I won't kill the messenger, or the messenger to the messenger, or the sister of the messenger to the messenger. ;)

But I WILL pass on this phone if it doesn't arrive before christmas, even though I will still want it so bad. (SOO Bad). And I will probably never forgive Verizon for this either. I will use their service as long as it is the only viable option, but will switch the first chance I get, ETFs or not.

I wonder if I were to post 2 seperate posts one saying

Verizon you suck this is a botched release and I hate you for not releasing when rumors said you were or....

Verizon still waiting patiently and I thank you for wanting to work out all bugs before giving us this fantastic phone to stay consistent w/ your company mission statement 'Best Network in America' and understand the need to time the release right to maximize profit, afterall you are a corporate entity.

Which would get more 'thanks'?

Which is more logical?

I am not judging anyone that is doing this for fun, heck I am actually enjoying this investigating and rumor chasing and putting no stock into anything but what Verizon announces because in the end simpler explanations are, other things being equal, generally better than more complex ones.

yeah I have already decided, I`m going to wait for next year and see what comes out, I`m tired of the rumors and of Verizon jerking us around:rolleyes:

This is troubling news as per what Han posted (likely why he hasn't posted in forever). My wife's Droid is barely making it and if I have to tell her it'll be another month, she sure won't be happy. Le sigh.
