First post here. I really need to get in my 2 cents.
Firstly, let's talk about the facts. Verizon hasn't announced the phone publicly because it doesn't know yet. They don't want to release a date, and then go back on their word, cause that looks really bad to the mainstream public (not us). All leaked screen shots of release dates (11/10, 11/17, 11/21, 12/08) most likely true and were supposed to be treated tentatively and internal to Verizon. Many of these were probably really old once they were finally leaked.

Likewise, we need to concentrate on what they've said publicly, because they know they can hold to it. They've said "sometime later this year". That puts this 1st Quarter rumor to rest. Period.

I am hopeful that they can fulfill the 12/08 date (as I'm sure they're hoping for as well). I can speculate of why the delay, but we don't need more of that. That doesn't help anything. Just concentrate on the screen shots, as truly that's what they're aiming for and hoping to hit themselves.

Assuming that the document is even real... you realize that "will release" (Dinc2) and "scheduled to release" (Nexus) are intentionally worded differently?

We all get are hopes up over these leaks and then are thoroughly disappointed when it doesn't pan out.

In reality... we will hear MANY rumors about stores receiving shipments of devices not allowed to be sold/opened until 12/XX/11. Advertisements will be leaked all over the place. Accessories will abound. Many internet retailers will have the same "expected by" dates. And all of the sources will align their rumors. It will be VERY obvious when this is going to happen. They won't just all of a sudden release it without telling anyone.

I don't understand why google doesn't take control of its baby like apple does with the iphone. No matter what carrier the iphone's on, apple seems to have every say of how it's going to be handled/released as well as no bloatware of any kind being put on the phone itself. Also, when apple announces a product it's available for purchase within the week! What was the point of even having that press conference back in october?

We were talking about the cluster...... that is VZW's release of the GNex. Long story short he called someone higher up and told them I may be bringing 4 lines from VZW.

If I buy an unlocked GNex and switch my lines to AT&T I can get unlimited Data for two of the lines. This offer is good for me until the end of January.

Yes there are workarounds, but I can't always turn off this and that, sometimes I have to quickly put the phone down and switch tasks.

I've done no major workarounds and I'm losing less than 2% per hour in sleep mode. I beat the hell out of the phone yesterday on my stock battery and when I put it on the charger at 11 PM I still had 40% left.

I am man enough to admit when I am wrong, and I am/was wrong. My "gut" was wrong and an announcement did not come at 10AM as I thought. It would have been nice to have been right and have a self-inflated sense of importance, but alas, that did not happen.

Funny thing though, as I read through all of the posts, rumors, etc...and the anger builds and the Verizon bashing escalates I realize that I have fallen into the trap that is this thread. We all feel like we need to have a self-inflated sense of importance. Now I use the term "we all" recoginizing that it includes many who don't actually feel this way...but here's my thinking. We're a thread of what, about 200-300 unique posters? Even if we all got so fed up we left VZW, that's NOTHING to them. But let's really ask ourselves whey we're so upset in the first place...because "Verizon is botching another launch"? Really??? Last time I checked we're all speculating and hanging on rumors because that's the "thrill" we want. Verizon has said nothing other than by the end of the year and what it boils down to is that none of us are patient enough to accept that. In the meantime, 200-300 people (I'm guessing at that number) are angry as you know what because of a sense of tension and fear and disappointment that we've created ourselves...all for what? To feel important? Just thinking...

Anyway, I don't want to take away from the fact that I am sorry if I got anyone's hopes up...I really do believe an announcement is coming soon. All logic points to that.
 
On a positive note, my Living Social deal finally cleared, so there's $25 bucks saved if this thing ever gets let out of the depths of Verizon's corporate offices.

I have to agree that changing the thread title every time there is a new "rumor" floating around looks bad and makes the info/post less credible. Meanwhile, I'll patiently wait to hear something official from Verizon and then order my GNex when it's available.
 
To put a positive spin on Han's sisters news....

If you will remember, right before Verizon announced that they were getting the nexus, there was a big rumor that it wasn't even coming to Verizon at all. This thread was a mad house....then, low and behold, Verizon made their announcement, and all was right in the world for a while. With that being said, this place is a MAD HOUSE today????? Sometimes things get REALLY, REALLY BAD before they get REALLY, REALLY GOOD.

P.S. - I don't have any info to back this feeling up, but this is just my gut feeling. :o
