s.m.knipe, the compadre doing the measurements, is a VERY conscientious fellow, I know him from another forum here.

He measured originally with a stiff ruler and is going back to measure again with a flexible one.

If there is optical distortion throwing the measurement off by +0.07" - about 2 mm - I'll bet he'll find it.

And that doesn't answer how the width measurement, with no apparent curvature, would be having the same issue, because 16:9 at the width he measured makes the other two measurements predictable by calculation.

Also - with the number of critical blog eyes on this beast, if there were edge distortions, I'd like to think they'd have been reported.

But you could be right, I'm just speculating, so we'll have to see what more measurements bring.

I work on an application that is 2 million lines of c++ code (with comments and curlies). We work fine on android and iOS.

Well, I guess opinions will vary, of course. But in my opinion, the Star Wars saga is less about the rebels vs. empire, Luke vs. Vader, Han and Leia, etc. It's really about the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker and how that character was resolved.

Staging the story in such a way that you see this evil incarnate-type person, and then showing you how he was once good and that he was never "all evil" or "all good", just makes for thrilling discovery. The tragedy scene in Episode III is the centerpiece of the entire saga, and it should be viewed as the climax.

But that's just my take. :p

Makes it hard to hit the power button inside a Seidio case. Unfortunate to hear that the power button the Rezound isn't more pronounced.

There were a few articles floating around about how to fix this on the Thunderbolt, I wonder if you could use any of those "fixes" to make the Rezound button stand out more.

My Girlfriend's refurbed/replacement Thunderbolt had an already-flush power button, and I called them up and they replaced it again, right away.

I'm not an android developer, really, but I've done some programming and design for other platforms, and I hacked together an app from some scripts that other developers made, to get a Nyan Cat live wallpaper on my phone. My plan is to learn what I need to make live wallpapers from scratch, so I can optimize the app, and maybe become a real developer from there. I maybe heard that there are some changes to the live wallpaper framework in ICS? So maybe, once I get the Nexus, it'd be a good time to start that learning process.

Modern Family is a repeat tonight. How is Assassins Creed? When I picked it up for my son (Christmas gift), the guy that sold it to me asked if it was for my son and then asked if he had played the previous games. When I said yes, he said he would be disappointed.... Agree?

Soooo----

Between work and 2 teenagers I keep pretty busy and can't lurk as much as I would like so maybe you all covered this several thousand posts ago.....

but I was trolling around to get any news I could on the object of my intense desire (yes I have imprinted on the nexus - if you get my cinematic reference ;) )...

anyway, there was some chatter that it is taking sooooooo loooooong to release the GN that it will run into the GN2 due to release in Feb'12 and maybe we all should just wait. What is with that? Has anyone heard about this????
