At this point it seems like people have been throwing darts at a board and saying thats the date . By the time it releases itll be 2014 haha :-P

Also off topic anyone know is the asus transformer [not prime ] will get ics?

I did have another question though. Once the Nexus comes out, I'm giving my Eris to my little sister. Or at least I had planned to, until we realized that they might not be able to transfer her number to my phone since it's rooted. Anyone know if another number will work on this phone, or if it's simple enough to just unroot it?

You will not have an issue transferring another number to a rooted phone... I've done it countless times - did it with my wife's number on the last two hand-me-down phones I've given her (Droid X and Thunderbolt). And you can do it online through the website. :D

I am still sporting the OG. Does anyone have a suggestion on the best ROM for the OG? The battery sucks but she still works nice.

I'm using the latest CM 7...but I get constant reboots. If the GNex isn't released or announced soon I'm going to have to find a different ROM to try to get me through.

Edit: Use to have good luck with Bugless Beast. Pretty plain ROM in terms of customization, but usually ran as the name suggests...bugless

Oh, it's been forever and I'm sure there'll be better suggestions. My best GB ROM I had were Liquids. Ultimate Droid was a close second. Never cared for CM7. If you don't want any theming, Pete just put out GPA19 (I believe?).
Funny you mention. My wife's just got a message to upgrade her software (unrooted). Guess they're still supporting that old girl after all :).

I love CM7. I'm running 7.0.3 but there is 7.1 out there. I haven't upgraded because for the past 2 months, I keep thinking my new phone is 1 week away and there is no point. Sigh, shiftingreleasedatefail.

Around these parts we say yinz :D

*hangs head and whispers "no book, no movie*
I'm going to go sit in the corner now and wonder what else I've missed out on. :o

If you enjoy sci-fi and British humour (see what I did there?), I highly recommend all five books in the trilogy (Yep, that tells you quite a bit about the author right there.) On the other hand, I don't think the movie does the first book justice, but then how many do?
As always, just my 2

Sneaking out of lurking...Asus says the original transformer will get ics, my guess is it won't be until the marketing push for the Prime is done. Fading back...

Hello everyone, good morning, lets hope for some Thursday news shall we? We need team work:

one person to watch testman just in case

one person to keep an eye on VZW

one person to keep an eye on the PRs

one person to make me breakfast

one person to wash my car

and one person to blackmail a Verizon higher-up so that he/she releases the phone today

Alright, we're gonna do this people.

Nexus on three

1,2,3 NEXUS!

Good morning all! Hope everyone's head is clear this morning, after the beverage discussion!

Thought this was interesting, and as we have no new news yet, something worth sharing

Researchers find big leaks in pre-installed Android apps

"Researchers at North Carolina State University have uncovered a variety of vulnerabilities in the standard configurations of popular Android smartphones from Motorola, HTC, and Samsung, finding that they don't properly protect privileged permissions from untrusted applications."

I haven't read the paper yet, but the concept is very interesting. They do mention the previous 2 nexus devices.

An online pre-order will be tempting. But I know Verizon requires signatures on delivery, and I'll be at work. That means stopping by my local FedEx on my way home, which luckily is right around the corner from my office.

The alternative is going to the store on my lunch break on launch day....

Depending on what they select when shipping. There is an option when shipping with Fedex to deliver without a signature. I know all the packages I ship at work require one unless a customer states they do not want the signature option then we have to go into the settings and change to no signature required. Other option..... Just have it ship right to your work.

I have my phone sent to my work address because there's always someone there to sign for it.
