back in my hayday, i built this guy (attached) to thrash around at a competition in opelika. i wish i was driving, but as the proj mgr i had to make sure the rest of the hooligans on the team were doing what they needed to. best time of college.

in other news. my OG can no longer answer phone calls. since the right side of my screen doesnt respond to touch, i can't move the slider far enough to unlock and answer.

My KZ1000 Back In The Day. Heavily breathed on with, Carbs bored and jetted to match the mods, Cam and Valve work, header is equal length with a glass baffle. Between a Crotch Rocket and a Hog, its a lost category.

Many high grade phones have IPS. My OG Droid is IPS for example. This is Super IPS which is seemingly just a higher powered back light of some variety compared to normal IPS. There is no reason this couldn't be done on a phone as far as I know other than battery concerns if people insisted on keeping it in the extreme brightness mode. Even better for outdoor viewing and battery though would be a device with a reflective mode for the LCD when outdoors or more concerned with battery than colors and such. My guess is that displays like Pixel Qi that can do this don't look nearly as nice when in the normal backlit mode and the reflective mode has very horrible colors and such that end up almost monochrome in nature, but are great when you just need to see whats on the screen clearly.

Nice! I have a copy of that floating around here somewhere. I got the bug when I was 14, rebuilt it for a DD in high school. In 2001 we got the Ghia for my bro to rebuild, he was not interested, so I did most of it. Just needs electrical & interior. Waiting to purchase a house so I can get them both up here and functional again. Is their a VW Scene here in MN?

You have to admit the Cougars have stunk it it up worse than the Huskies the last few years. Neither have been playing anything near "good" football. And I know/can relate - Go Vandals! :o
 
Oy, I ordered that TPU case that someone linked to a while ago, and it arrived yesterday. It's nice to know that I can put it on the Nexus the minute I get the phone, but now I can't stop taking it out of the packaging and holding it, pretending there's a phone inside...
 
Great....was getting LTE on my rezound for 4 days with no problem, now I only get 3G.

At least I got a perfect reason to trade for the GNex

Edit: hmmm...somehow my phone got switched to cdma only....wtf?!?!

That 12/11 date doesn't make sense to me. Launch this thing on a Sunday? No way - unless they truly are trying to bury this release and kill sales.

As for the alma mater talk, I get jealous of all the real school football talk, but go Profs! DIII FTW!
Just kidding. I hate my school. That place will never see an alumni donation from this guy.
A buddy of mine played for Rutgers though, so at least I got to see a whole lot of real football when they were going to bowls in the mid-to-late aughts. Even took a trip down to Alabama for the prestigious PapaJohns.com Bowl. Always like to see the Knights do well, as well as Clemson, which should have been my alma mater if it wasn't for how expensive college is now.

Will it fit the lte version with the slight thickness difference? and can you link me? i swear by the tpu cases!

The Ducks are fun to watch! One of my son's best friends is the little brother of B. Hannah, #44. And Carson York is from our town too, so we are always tuned into the games. :)

Sundays are when the new Best Buy ads go live for the week. Maybe they're getting them in for sale in the week?
 
Could the Best Buy 12/11 discrepancy be because third party retailers get phones a little later (a la Radio Shack)? Or does Best Buy usually get them at the same time?

Very cool. I ordered mine a while back so hopefully it'll show up soon.
